My stay at Jessica's was absolutely wonderful. She is kind and makes one feel right at home. The room is very comfortable and it's nice having an en suite bath. She allowed me to cook in the kitchen, and gave me a shelf in the refrigerator, which was an extra bonus as I was travelling with my 11-year-old son.
She was also very informative about the area and helped me with directions and advice about getting around.
I can highly recommend staying at her ABNB.
I arrived at Charleston from New York and apart from getting a bit lost on the wayi managed to find it fairly quickly. Jessica is a fantastic person and lovely host. We managed to go to a St Patricks Parade which was nice. The room was fantastic with it's own closet and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and clean. Jessica's daughter was lovely and really friendly, I will miss them both a lot. I really enjoy Charleston and recommend Boone Hall,I wouldn't say you need to go to all plantations as they are similar. Cypress gardens was great, a car is a definite as little or no public transport. Thank you so much Jessica for a great stay.
This was another great Airbnb experience. Jessica responded very quickly to all questions or emails that I had. My morning flight was changed to a late afternoon flight. By the time I arrived, rented my car and got to her place, it was after 11:30 pm. Jessica was very understanding and welcoming despite the late inconvenience. The house is exactly as described...very clean and comfortable. Her daughter Katherine is also great host. She explained to me how she keeps her early morning cartoons quiet so she doesn't disturb the guests! Location is prime...a short drive to beaches or to downtown Charleston. A great stay all around!
This was my first experience using Airbnb and I have to say that Jessica didn't help make it a very pleasant one.
This was supposed to be a special trip with my wife to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I made all of the arrangements and didn't even tell her where were going.
During the planning process, I sought out very specific accomodations ie ground floor, step in shower, etc because my wife has physical limitations which affect her mobility.
Once I found Jessica's listing, I felt it was perfect and I contacted her to confirm availability. Once confirmed, I booked and paid as normal. Jessica informed me at this point that she and her daughter would not be there but she would leave the key.
Because of the Christmas holidays, I made an extra effort to communicate with her in advance of our arrival.
Imagine my shock and dismay when, on the morning of the 26th at 5:40am, I received a text message from Jessica canceling our accommodations two hours before we were supposed to be leaving for Charleston.
Despite having asked her numerous times, Jessica would not give me any sort of explanation at all.
I immediately began scrambling to try to find something else but my options were severely limited by the holidays.
Being unsure what else to do, I got into contact with the Airbnb Help Desk to see if they could assist me.
Fortunately, Jessica changed her mind about canceling (for whatever reason).
Because alternate accommodations were virtually impossible to find, we went ahead and stayed at Jessica's home even though we weren't at all pleased by the way we were treated and we certainly didn't feel welcome there.
The house was very nice. The neighborhood was good. The proximity to Charleston was fantastic.
No complaints about the house itself at all.
Even now, we still don't know why she attempted to cancel at the last minute.
Jessica was awesome! I was having quite a bit of airline "drama" (cancelled flights, lost baggage, etc) and she was very flexible and accommodating with me. The room is spacious with plenty of privacy. It was really nice having an attached full bathroom. My husband and I were in town for a wedding at the Wild Dunes & this was a great location.
I had a wonderful week staying with Jessica and Catherine. The bedroom and private bath were as described or even better. A very comfortable bed and all the privacy I wanted. Both Jessica and Catherine were very quiet and considerate of my needs and schedule. The location was ideal to Charleston and the beaches. I highly recommend this room for one or two people.
We had a wonderful stay at Jessica's home. Very clean; we liked having our own bathroom connected to the bedroom. Jessica was quite helpful with dining and sightseeing suggestions. We enjoyed talking to her daughter. We were there to visit Charleston and the location was very convenient to the City - about 15 min to downtown with a car. Charleston does not seem to have much of a transit system, so this location wouldn't work without a car. We would definitely stay here again!!
