Sailing, Swimming & Snorkeling the Sunny Caribbean!

The Space

Are you searching for the ultimate Caribbean cruising adventure? Are you a water person! Want to sail the islands at leisure? Without a schedule? Visit / snorkel beautiful beaches? Anchor away from the world with us, we do not go to four or five places a day. That is what power boats do. This is a non smoking boat with no extra charge to go sailing! This is a private boat, that means no one but you and your friends will be on it. Minimum two couples max of three is what we like to book. We also operate in three countries. Spanish Virgin Islands, US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands. (I am sailing all the time and will be slow with emails)
Prices for 2014(No children or teenagers this year)

$400 per night for one couple =$200 each
$400 per night for three people =$133 each
$400 per night for two couples =$100 each
$500 per night for three couples. =$83 each
These are the actual expenses for the week with no economic benefit to us. (1) (we are retired and just having FUN)
BVI fees are extra (This has been about $220 total for four days) Holidays, Sundays and what kind of day the official is having are extra! This is a private boat so who every you bring will be the people on the boat!!!
Vieques instead of BVI would have a $100 fuel fee extra
Whether traveling with your family or a group of friends, the dream charter vacation can be yours on board a Captained catamaran charter from Virgin Island Water Fun. This is your chance to sail, scuba dive if certified or just hang out and enjoy this fabulous area with Ray a USCG licensed Captain and Brenda. We run our Catamaran like a B & B on the water! Breakfast is included, snacks for lunch and a couple of evening meals provided. No extra charge for sailing the islands! Snorkel equipment included. .
The popularity of catamarans has grown in recent years for several reasons. The multi-hull design provides a fast, smooth sailing experience with the maximum comfort and space.
Catamarans are faster than mono-hulls. Thus, you will get where you want to go in less time, allowing for more time for island exploration and water activities. Along with speed, catamarans are much more maneuverable. With engines on both sides of the vessel, you can move the catamaran around its axis, making for easier docking. In addition, the small draft allows you to anchor in shallower water or closer to the beach, thus providing you with more options to drop anchor as well as greater privacy.
Catamaran charters are extremely stable. Unlike mono-hulls which tend to heel (tilt) to one side, catamarans remain level while sailing. This stability helps prevent any tendency towards seasickness and allows passengers a more enjoyable sailing experience without having to worry about maintaining their balance. Leave stress behind on our Fountaine Pajot Bahia with over 1,000 sq feet of comfort. From the moment you step on board our Catamaran, you will be amazed at both the deck and interior spaciousness. This extra room allows everyone on board to find a quiet spot for themselves. On the deck, the area between the hulls is netted. This provides for extra lounging space and is the perfect spot for Caribbean sunbathing. The spacious decks make moving around the catamaran easy because there are no cleats to stub toes.
The cockpit is larger than normal with spectacular island views and enough seating space for all passengers to rest in the shade or share a meal in the fresh Caribbean air. There is a grand salon and kitchen for socializing and meals. The beautifully designed elevated main salon (well above sea level) is perfect for lounging and entertaining. With wrap around windows, it makes for a panoramic dining experience. The galley is roomy which makes on board meal preparation part of the shared fun of a bareboat catamaran charter.
In regards to the sleeping accommodations, the dual hull layout allows for more privacy since salons are located in opposite corners. State salons are spacious and have their own separate head and shower. There are large fans for night with memory foam mattresses on the queen size beds, which allows for more sleeping comfort. In addition, a motorized tender hangs off the stern for use in diving, snorkeling and going ashore for evening beverages and meals. Speaking of diving I also own a Scuba Diving Boat As your exclusive dive charter operator from Coral Bay, I take you to locations away from the crowds. Pristine reefs, abundant fish life, quiet coves and uninhabited islands are easily accessible when you explore the east end of St. John and the British Virgin Islands.
Whether you are looking for the perfect party boat with a group of friends or a safe cruising experience with family members, a captained catamaran charter is the ideal answer to your sun-filled Caribbean vacation. Our friends have been catching flights into St Thomas at a reasonable price. Airfare into Tortola is often too expensive and the flights in and out are very unreliable. Many times flights leaving have been cancelled but I will pick you up at either airport. You will not need a passport to come to the USVI but if you want to dive the Wreck of the Rhone or go to the beach bars you often hear about (Foxy's, Willy T, Soggy Dollar, Cooper Island Beach Club etc.) we will have to clear into the British VI. You will need a passport to do that and it costs about $200. for four days ( it is never the same) A place to stay, travel the islands, swim, snorkel, walk the beach's, and breakfast for only $400 two couples, $500 for three couples, $400 for one couple. If I am not out on a charter and you are going to be on St John, Tortola, Virgin Gorda ect. ask about day sailing with us. Come stay with us if you are a water person only! You must me able to swim and lift yourself out of the water (email hidden)
PS If I am out of the country sailing I will be a little slow answering reservation request and questions. AirBNB does not care and will tell you I am booked when I am not! Look for my web site

  • Holy cow! This was the adventure of a lifetime and I can't possibly say enough great things about Ray and his beautiful boat. If you like to sail, swim, and explore then this is the trip for you (because that's all you do!). My wife and I have been looking at sailing vacations for years and hit the jackpot when we found Ray's listing. This trip was a remarkable value and we fully plan to come back as soon as possible. Ray is very thorough in his AirBnB post so read every word to get a good idea of what to expect out of such a unique vacation.

Although we did our own research before heading down, we mostly trusted Ray to show us his favorite spots and must-see locations. When comparing notes with other travelers at airport, we realized how much Ray's advice helped us make the most of our too-short stay. My advice to any potential guests is this: If Ray gives packing advice, follow it! If Ray suggests a swim, swim! If Ray suggests a hike, hike! If Ray suggests a cocktail, bottoms up! He knows the area and catered the trip to our interests and time. We can't wait to go back!

  • What amazing hosts! This was a really great experience that I am sure we will remember for a long time to come Ray and Brenda not only have an amazing boat but they are super accommodating to what you want to do. Definitely let them show you around to their favorite spots!

  • Great trip! Ray and Brenda were all that anyone could ask for and more and just salt of the earth people. Ray's sailing expertise, cooking, and knowledge of the area mixed with Brenda's hospitality, kindness, and fun loving attitude made for a great experience. They really are doing it right! The Rainbow Rider was a great boat for both sailing and living. We had lots of fun wether it was sailing, snorkeling, bar/island hopping, or just relaxing. We can't wait to go back!

  • Best vacation we have ever had. All the reviews are spot on. Ray and Brenda are such great hosts and a lot of fun to be around . Ray took us to a lot of the "Hot Spots" per our request; however, next time we will leave it up to Ray to choose.Food was amazing, Rainbow Rider is a beautiful boat and very comfortable. Being rocked to sleep by the gentle waves and star gazing through the hatch was so relaxing, Beds were very comfortable. The only thing that woke us up was the smell of Ray cooking/ baking another fabulous breakfast. Always looked forward to a morning snorkel before we sailed to our next destination. Don't miss out on the Rainbow Rider as it books fast. We were only able to get 4 days and wished we had more time . Can't wait to go back next year.

  • What can I add to all glowing reviews ??...They are all true and we had a blast with Ray and Brenda. You can't ask for more gracious hosts than them and they are truly fun to hang around with. One thing I would add that I also had reservation about sleeping in the boat, but turned out I was actually sleep better there than my own bed. I think it has something to do with natural, gentle rocking of the waves. It was by far our most memorable and fun vacation and we hope to join them again on their boat in the future.

  • Fantastic family vacation! Ray and Brenda welcomed us into their home and took us to places that you don't get to see unless you know the area. We felt safe, we were comfortable and WELL fed! Ray is a great captain and he knows the area well. They are wonderful, entertaining hosts that will do as much or as little as you want. The itinerary is really up to you - eat in?, eat out?, go here?, go there?, even pick up and drop off is flexible. We are fortunate that we had this opportunity, thanks Ray and Brenda! We hope to see you again!

  • I don't think we can say enough nice things about Brenda and Ray. We went down to kiteboard around the Virgin Islands, and even though the wind did not cooperate, we had a great time diving, sailing, eating drinking and being merry. Ray and Brenda went above and beyond to provision for us, pick us up at the airport, show us around on land, on the sea, and under the sea SCUBA diving. Fantastic hosts, and we hope to see them again soon.

Ray is so easy going, he puts you at ease right from the start. He really makes the island hopping look deceptively easy; a real sign of competence.

This experience is probably best for those with some nautical experience, a sense of adventure, and those physically fit.

  • My husband and I had a GREAT sailing adventure with Ray and Brenda. They went above and beyond and expectations we had. We have been telling everyone how fantastic it was and hope to sail with them again someday. Thanks again!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Ray and Brenda. None of us had stayed overnight on a sailboat and had just 2 days between our timeshare and our flight back to Seattle. 2 days is simply too short and we are already talking about how we need to spend a full week. Ray and Brenda are very flexible and try to make sure you are having a nice time. Ray's experience as a bar-b-que restaurant owner is frosting on the cake.
