This spacious first floor loft in a former industrial space transformed into a residential building, sleeps 10 and is located in the chic Le Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood. Convenient to public transportation and within walking distance of many hip cafes, clubs, bars, restaurants, shops, and parks, the loft provides an ideal home base in the city for a larger family or two families vacationing together, as well as a business group or group of friends. Everyone loves the large entryway that opens to the fully-stocked kitchen with bar seating, the antique wooden industrial sliding doors, and the luxurious white claw-foot bathtub, as well as the water pressure.
It is hard to beat the location or size of this loft. Located just off of boulevard St. Laurent and Duluth, the loft is surrounded by nightlife, restaurants, shopping, spas, and lots of kid-friendly places, literally in every direction!

The loft has a total of three bedrooms, one of which can be divided into two to make four bedrooms. The loft has two private bedrooms, one with a double and the other with a queen. The bunk room can be divided with a curtain to make two rooms; it has a double bed and a double over double bunk bed, for a total of three double beds in one very big room. Each side of this room has it's own entrance through antique, industrial, rolling wood doors.
There are two couches in the living room. All beds are provided with quality, clean linens and plenty of pillows; all mattresses are less than a year old and everything is encased in protective guards. Half of the mattresses are memory foam and the other half are conventional spring mattresses, so every sleeper can find their comfort zone. It isn't a vacation without good sleep!
There are two bathrooms. One is a luxury bath with both a large shower and a claw foot tub; the other bathroom has a toilet, shower, small sink and new washer/dryer, making this location more comfortable for three or four mature students or a family for longer term rentals or a big group for shorter rentals. Many families have met up here, with two couples sleeping in the private rooms and all the kids in the bunk room.

Spacious, renovated, the loft is two blocks from boulevard St. Laurent and in between Rachel and Duluth (famous for bring your own wine restaurants). The loft also boasts a flats screen TV with Apple TV, Netflix, a DVD/BlueRay player (please bring your own). Formerly an industrial space in a residential building, the loft is located on the 1st floor (5 interior stairs up), with a large entry way opening into a kitchen stocked with all the necessary cooking gear. There are two tables that can be used to eat at or grab a bar stool. A welcoming space with everything you need to enjoy your time in Montreal, including wireless internet, washer, dryer, dishwasher, kitchen, towels, and an iron. Most importantly, this space has a great energy. Everyone notices it.

The location is ideal, at least from the perspective of this Montreal resident! The loft is located in the Plateau just off St-Laurent and Duluth, near downtown and McGill University, within blocks of Montreal's world-renowned festivals (Just for Laughs, International Jazz Festival, St. Laurent Street Fair, etc.) and surrounded by Montreal's best restaurants, shopping, cafes and nightlife. Within 10 minutes of two metros and minutes from many major bus routes, this loft is central but not in the tourist centre. A short walk to the famous Sunday Tam Tam, Schwartz's famous smoked meat, Moishes steakhouse, Le Resevoir, and Romados chicken, and the neighborhood street festivals that happen all summer, the location is ideal for different adventures in Montreal on foot, by public transport, bixi bike (many stands nearby) or one of Montreal's famous bike tours.

Guest Access

Along with the high-speed wireless and Netflix (you can sign on to your subscriptions through the Apple TV), there is a local telephone with free calling in Canada and the US (overseas and Mexico requires a calling card) and basic cable plus 15 channels (French and English).
I have lots of gear for the younger crowd, including a rocking bassinet (0-5 months), a pack n play, exersaucers (we call them command centres), high chairs, play pen, baby gate for the stairs, and many toys (including a play kitchen). These spaces have been designed with my children in mind, and I have plenty of kid gear to keep your little ones entertained while you make a martini.
I can also refer you to babysitters and am up-to-date on what is going on in Montreal for the younger crowd (along with the other crowds!) to give you a break or plan for some fun family activities.

Interaction with Guests

I always try to greet my guests and give them tips on getting around and things to do based on their needs and interest. If a problem should arise, I or the building manager can always be reached for help.

Getting Around

The metro is about a 12 minute walk. There are buses in each direction that can take you all over Montreal. There is a taxi stand on the corner.
