Stay in this lovely guest house for a short trip in Melacca. The location is fantastic. Just a 1 min walk to Jonker street and Hard Rock Café. The room is big and comfortable. Clean and well maintained bathroom. We enjoy here more than the hotel that we stayed previously.
Miss Daphne and her staff Stephanie and Jia Min are lovely and kind. We love them so much!
You can basically enjoy &hunt for all the good foods by following the map that provided upon check in. Breakfast in Kaya-Kaya café is another highlight.
We would like to stay here again for the next visit! Highly recommended!
Layang Layang is very comfortable and relaxing, and just 5 mins walk to jonker street. The team is friendly and helpful. Room and toilets are clean and basic toiletries are provided. Overall, it's a great experience staying here.
Small note, if you're staying at ground floor, be prepared to hear the music from the trishaws passing by, and footsteps from the upper floor. Have fun!
I stayed there for four days and I can definitely recommend this place. The position of the place is nearly perfect, directly in the inner city.
There is only one thing, which i didn't like so much. We were staying in a room in the ground floor and the ceiling of the room is only made out of wooden lumbers. It looks really nice but the problem is that you hear every step somebody is making on the upper floor. So I think this could be improved.
All in all I am very satisfied for choosing this guesthouse for our stay
the Location was Great!
the way explanation Very Detailed - you can't miss it!
a warm welcome to us.
however no wifi in the room.
We had a lovely stay! We definitely recommend it! Hosts are very friendly and helpful. This place is nicely decorated. Rooms and entire place are clean and nice. Bathrooms are shared but they are clean. They provide sleepers for their guests as they require to take off your shoes before entering the guest house. The location is great. Most of the attractions are in walking distance. You can rent bicycles from them too. In lobby they have free WiFi, books, games, guitar etc. There is a little pantry where they provide water, free tea and coffee. Next door they have a cafe with a lovely interior and very good food too. And there are many more good things about Layang Layang guesthouse that I can go on and on. But I should mention it can get very noisy at night but I guess all in that area are facing the same problem. Don't forget to ask for mosquito repellent when you check-in as there are many mosquitoes at night.
Daphne's team was really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - they personally walked us around the guesthouse's compound and helped us to find a clinic on a Sunday evening.
The guesthouse still pretty much retains its original structure, painted with cherry hues and cosy decoration. The lobby is definitely a good hang out area to just chill with a book/ the available board games (may be an additional recliner in the common area would be nice?)
The courtyard has a really charming water feature. I had a room facing the street and the sound of the street may be a little unfiltered but it's quite charming to wake up to the local hustle bustle.
Layang Layang is also situated just right behind Jonker so it's really convenient to walk around.
Overall, my stay had been lovely and I would definitely stay here again on my return trip.
