Available is a unique room (accommodates 2) in an historic Petworth rowhouse (northwest DC), located on third level of this great home. Exposed brick walls, plenty of natural light. Note: while pictures show an air mattress, the room now has a full size bed (brand new mattress and frame). Please also note that the half of the ceiling in the loft area is slanted and thus low (this adds charm, but one must duck to enter the space!)
Just five minutes from the Georgia Avenue/Petworth metro (Green/Yellow line), we are also a five minute walk to many great restaurants and historic sites (including Abraham Lincoln's summer cottage). From our doorstep you can be at the national mall in under 30 minutes using just public transportation. I'll be sure to make your stay comfortable and fun. On street parking is easily found -- cable and internet included. Access to all of the house's great amenities -- chef's kitchen, separate formal dining room, great outdoor patio, etc.
Upon your arrival I will do my best to make your stay as comfortable as possible: fresh linens and bamboo towels, a chocolate mint on your pillow. I always strive to make you feel right at home.
Now offering complimentary environmentally-friendly ESA toiletries (Honey Shampoo, Honeysuckle Conditioner, and French Milled Oatmeal Soup.)
Please note: you will be sharing common areas (bathrooms, kitchen, outdoor areas) with the owner and one other roommate.
Guests have access to a full kitchen, 1.5 baths (shared), living room, and dining room.
Interaction with Guests
I work fairly long hours and so if you are visiting during the business week, we may not see too much of each other. As a rule I make myself as available as my guests would like me to be.
Quincy House is located just a five minute walk from the Georgia Avenue/Petworth metro station in the heart of the vibrant, thriving Petworth neighborhood. We are a close knit community of young families and professionals who place a premium on our neighborhood's historic homes, porch culture, and friendly style. You'll love it here!
Three blocks from the Georgia Avenue/Petworth Metro Station (green/yellow line) and the H8 bus stops right outside the front door. You can reach nearly all of the major sights within 15-20 minutes via public transportation.
Hello and welcome to Quincy House!
Whenever I welcome a new Airbnb guest into my home I always begin by telling them to make themselves "feel at home." I think this is a good rule of thumb -- one that balances an environment that relaxes the body and spirit with a standard of respect for others and the space around you.
I want your stay at Quincy House (whether in the Guest Room or Loft) to be a memorable one: make yourself comfortable and don't be afraid to ask for anything. I will always do everything in my power to make sure you are entirely satisfied. In return, I ask you to be respectful: of me, my roommate, and the house.
I've had quite a few guests and this general rule has worked out splendidly, so I don't anticipate changing it anytime soon. Just remember to ask if you have any questions (I always try my best to say yes.)
Other general rules of thumb:
- It is your responsibility to lock the door upon exit and arm the alarm when you leave (direction will be provided)
- Please be mindful of placing wet things (cups, towels) on the woodwork.
- If you use the kitchen, you are expected to leave it as you found it (no dishes in the sink).
- Your are sharing the bathroom, so please leave it clean for the next user.
- After 10 pm, please be mindful that others in the house may be sleeping.
- No outside guests allowed unless cleared with me.
- In the winter or in the rain, please take your shoes off upon entrance.
- Ruby the dog will be crated when I am not home. When I am home, feel free to say hi!
Thanks for listening and I look forward to your stay.
We had a lovely time. House was as pictures convey and whilst we didn't see Ross more than once he was a friendly and amicable host.
The Quincy House is the perfect place to stay! - I felt home from the first minute I arrived!
Ross is a fantastic host who always makes sure you have everything you need. His girlfriend Leah and his roommate Eric are very welcoming and friendly as well.
The room is very cozy with a lot of space, the bed really comfortable and everything is very clean and just nice!
The house is well located in a lovely neighborhood, you always feel very safe. I loved staying there and I'm very happy I got the chance to spend my time in Washington at Ross' house.
The location is great, very close walk to the metro and easy to get to the main attractions. The room is clean, the bed is super comfortable, it is exactly as described. We never got to meet Ross, the communication was minimal, but nonetheless we had no problems and loved our stay. Thanks Ross.
Ross is offering an excellent and spacious room with a comfortable bed, as well as a nice bathroom and kitchen!
In the room, Ross provides his guests with a lot of information on Washington (touristic books and guides) and the area around the AirBnB itself. Location-wise, Ross' house easily reachable with the subway train which is only three blocks away.
Although we didn't have the chance to meet each other, I would like to thank you for having us over, Ross!
I had a lovely experience spending time at Ross' home. They were very welcoming and great help if I had any questions. Plenty of coffee shops nearby and a lovely area in general. Lovely cosy bed too.
The loft room at the Quincy House was great: the size, the space and the bed all made this a comfortable stay. The subway is only a few minutes walk (and there are some decent bars and places to eat nearby too). We only briefly met Ross, but he and his housemates were all very welcoming. Moreover, the information Ross left for the stay (along with the use of a parking pass and metro cards) made the stay even more smooth.
We didn't had the chance to meet Ross but we spent a realy good time at Ross's place. The room and the house was very clean and welcoming.

About the Host, Ross
Welcome to Quincy House. I have been living in DC for five years now -- working in federal healthcare policy and constantly finding great, new things about this historic city. I love meeting new people from around our small world and I am truly excited to host you! I will do my best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I believe the little details are what counts: A mint on your pillow; bamboo towels and sheets; a friendly smile greeting you.
The details: I am an attorney at a law firm downtown and manage pretty long hours so I may not be around too much during the weekdays. However, I do love wandering around our little neck of the woods when I have time. Petworth is a great place to call home and our house is warm, comforting, and clean.
I have one roommate that lives upstairs with me (there are four bedrooms in total.) His name is Eric and he is a great guy, working at a think-tank downtown. I also have a young puppy named Ruby who is very excited to meet you! Ruby is crated during the day (when I am not home) so you don't see her romping around without me. Don't worry - she may bark but will warm right up to you.For rent are one of our guest bedrooms, as well as the loft/attic space.
We keep the house very clean and it tends to be fairly quiet. If you are looking for a nice place to come home to at the end of the day, a place that takes away a bit of life's stress, you've come to the right place. I always do my best to make sure you are as comfortable as possible and if there are any special requests, please just let me know ahead of time and I will do my best to accommodate you.
