The space
As you approach OPAL BUILDING, its history whispers through every brick and beam. This RUSTIC residential gem, once home to US NAVY PERSONNEL, stands as a testament to times gone by. The wide staircase invites you to ascend, and with each step along the corridors, the building’s age reveals itself, painting vivid tales of the past.

But as you enter the FOREST Nest on the 3rd floor, a dramatic transformation unfolds. This quaint apartment suite, is more than just a place to stay—it is an oasis of REPRIEVE and RELAXATION.

The OPEN PARKING lot is located right next to the building, while shaded parking areas can be found a little further away.

The Forest Nest is made up of two ADJOINING ROOMS. Each room has a door leading to the building's main hallway, and one wall has jalousied windows looking out to the hallway, the forest, and the bay beyond.

Each room is equipped with an AC unit and a ceiling fan. In one room is the Dining, Living, and Kitchen area where the Bathroom, TV, and sofabed are located. In the other room is the BEDROOM with two beds and a HAMMOCK.

The BATHROOM is designed in such a way that it's possible for TWO PEOPLE to make use of it at the same time. A small hallway leads to the toilet, while the shower area is curtained off. The sink is located in the kitchenette area.

The KITCHENETTE is small but functional. There's cold drinking water in the fridge for our guests. Subic Water is POTABLE. There's an electric stove for cooking, a rice cooker, and a couple of pots and pans. There is a toaster in the cabinet closest to the bathroom door.

Guest access
FOREST NEST with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room is your PRIVATE HOME for the duration of your stay.

Wake up to the delight of a complimentary SELF-SERVE BREAKFAST. Indulge in locally-sourced coffee, home-made sourdough bread, fresh eggs, and calamansi juice. The water is POTABLE, and most residents drink from the tap. You can also purchase The Nest by the Sea's CHAMPORADO via our shop. :)

We have some PERSONAL ITEMS on display and locked in the closets. There is a LOCKABLE CABINET available for your use. It's the one closest to the back door in the bedroom! :)

The bedroom has a QUEEN BED WITH ample beddings and a DOUBLE BED which is usually set up as a daybed unless otherwise requested.

The BATHROOM has strong water pressure, hot water, and towels are provided.

Lose yourself in a cozy nook filled with our favorite BOOKS AND GAMES, or find solace in the two-person HAMMOCK, ready to carry your burdens away. Binge-watch on NETFLIX, or browse through some of our all-time favorites in a flash drive attached to the TV.

This Nest is equipped with FIBER internet. Because we live in such a woody area, sometimes our internet connection is disconnected by MONKEYS or falling trees.

Step outside the doors and be greeted by a breathtaking view of the dense RAINFOREST and the invigorating sight of TRIBOA BAY.

The backyard has some PICNIC tables which are shared by all occupants of our building, though we CAUTION against bringing food outdoors due to the MONKEYS.

If you're craving for some water time, there is a newly renovated SWIMMING POOL in the hotel next door, which guests can access for a FEE. A SNACK BAR also offers light fare and refreshments within the pool area.

As part of the CROWN PEAK community, you will indeed enjoy your PROXIMITY to convenience stores, laundromats, specialty shops and cafes.

Just minutes away are some interesting discoveries in gastronomy that soothes the palate. DALOY Bistro offers a creative twist on Filipino and European comfort food, while INDOCHINE serves scrumptious, authentic French cuisine, with croissants made fresh from the oven.

VALUE-ADDS:
• Free self-service breakfast items with unlimited coffee and tea
• Exclusive perks from partner establishments
• Discounts for 2+ nights
• Baby crib and high chair available by reservation for a fee

During your stay
We live about 20 minutes drive from you, and our office is less than 15 minutes away. Feel free to contact us during work hours for any assistance you might need.

Our village is home to mostly FOREIGN RESIDENTS who enjoy the peace and quiet of Subic Bay. They are quite friendly and may approach you for a chat. Please be nice to them! We like to maintain a good relationship with our neighbours.

Our Nests are not just a retreat for humans—our nosy neighbors, THE MONKEYS, love it here too! These mischievous critters are always up for some monkey business.

A FRIENDLY TIP for our nature-loving guests: keep your food indoors and out of reach when the monkeys are around. They're quite the opportunists and love a good snack! Remember, it's best NOT TO PROVOKE or challenge these cheeky creatures if they get close. And most importantly, please AVOID FEEDING them any food—let's keep our wild friends wild!

Looking for pet friendly things to do around Subic? We have a guide book for pets and their humans, which you can access on the app.

WILDLIFE
Our Subic Nests are surrounded by the rainforest, and are home to a variety of animals such as monkeys, bats, insects, birds and reptiles such as the very harmless gecko. While we can't guarantee total control of the wildlife, please reach out to us if you feel uncomfortable if they do wander inside your Nest, and we'll try to have this addressed in the soonest possible time.

KIDS
We don’t recommend this place for CHILDREN under the age of 7. There are breakable items in the unit, and the hallway RAILING is not child proof- unattended children might have accidents. Our neighbors are very SENSITIVE to noise, so we can’t have noisy kids or crying babies in the middle of the night. If you will be bringing your children, please look after them at all times.

Our guests often regret not booking longer, so we've added in discounts for stays of 2 nights or more. The longer you stay, the bigger the discount. Treat yourself to that extra day!

DAYTIME GUESTS
We charge a daytime guest fee of P500 per guest. Please let us know if you will be entertaining guests in our Nest.

PETS
Please CLEAN UP after your pets. For guests booked in Opal Building and Rainforest Nest, the Crown Peak Management is imposing a P5,000 waste fine in common use areas such as, and not limited to, hallways, parks and sidewalks within the Crown Peak area.

NOISE
Our neighbors may get loud at night. No noise is allowed past 10pm. If that happens, please let us know, so we can alert the village security guards.

REBOOKING
In line with our firm cancellation policy, we do not allow rebooking less than 2 weeks before your stay.

CLEANING AND SHEET CHANGES
In our effort to reduce unnecessary use resources, cleaning and sheet changes are conducted every 3 days for longer stays. Should you want your sheets to be changed daily, this can be arranged for an extra cleaning fee.

From the host

Cubi is one of the residential hills in Subic Bay. It's overlooking the water and it's a nice place to walk around to see the monkeys and watch the sun set on The Bay.

There are a couple of convenience stores nearby where you can get simple meals and basic necessities. For other needs, there are a few groceries and markets in Subic Bay CBD (Central Business District), about 15 minutes drive from the Forest Nest.

Cubi is also a great place to watch for birds, bats, monkeys and other wildlife.

Bat Kingdom is just a 5-minute walk down the road from our Forest Nest. It's best to go just before sunset to watch the bats from the roadside. Bring a hat to protect your head from bat droppings!

For the adventure seekers, there is a nearby waterfall that is about 20 mins hike from the apartment (go to Pamulaklakin or El Kabayo for a guide to the nearest falls). You can explore Cubi on our bamboo bicycles for a rental fee of P250/bike/day. We have 2 bikes available.

There are several beaches nearby. Our favourite beach just a short drive from Forest Nest, Camayan (15 minutes drive) is a nice beach with a restaurant. Acea Resort is just down the road (15 minutes walk or 2 min drive) and they have day packages which you can avail of.

For scuba diving, Subic Bay has some nice wrecks. Summer is the best time to go when the water is clearer. Camayan has a dive shop that caters to both beginners and advanced divers.

We highly recommend a speedboat day trip to the nearby coves. The dock is just 10 minutes from the house and it's the quickest way to go see the nearby beaches. More info in our guide book, which you can access once your booking is complete. :)

For snorkelling and Island hopping, we recommend Zambales. Just an hour drive away, a good day trip is island hopping to Capones Island Lighthouse with a stop over at Camara Island for some snorkelling and lunch on the beach. The jump off point is Pundakit in San Antonio, Zambales. Let us know, and we'll connect you with our friends who have a boat there. Pundakit is also a great place to find surf from June-February.
