We enjoyed our stay in the beautiful cottage with view to the pier at the edge of the fishing village Kinsale. We liked that we could easily take a walk around Kinsale and to many other places like Fort Charles. The folks from town and were very nice and there are a lot of pubs and shops as well.
I guess it would still be hard to reach without a car.
The house is very cosy and we found all comfort we needed.
We can definitely recommend to other ones to stay at the cottage and in Kinsale.
For anyone staying there we can also recommend warmly to visit `The Steakhouse` just near the cottage in Lower O’Connell Street (even for veggies).

Ian is a very gracious and resourceful host, making my stay at 1 Lobster Cottage a very pleasant experience. The cottage was clean, more than comfortable and very roomy - everything I needed was already in place.
The town of Kinsale is a perfect gem with great shops, friendly folk and far more activities than one would expect of a quaint town in the South of Ireland. Just a sampling of the activities in town and close-by are town and nature walks, sailing, beaches, road trips and a great selection of family and fine dinning with friendly pubs offering top class music.
Photo enthusiasts - be sure to have your batteries charged and extra memory cards handy - you'll need them.
Thanks again Ian for a lovely stay at 1 Lobster Cottage - I would love to visit again someday in the not too distant future!

We absolutely loved our stay at Lobster Cottage... so much we decided to live in Kinsale! We were planning on moving to nearby Cork but absolutely fell in love with the town, the area, and the lovely people here. It only took us 2 days to sway us from the bustle of Cork to the calm charm of this gorgeous seaside village.
The first person we met of course was Ian as he welcomed us warmly shortly after our arrival. The house was well maintained and appointed and Ian couldn't be a more gracious and accommodating host.
We had a month's stay in the house while looking for a permanent home and Ian was greatly helpful in both advice about the area as well as providing us a lovely reference for our new landlord. If we had to stay in Kinsale again, we'd definitely look to staying in the house again and will certainly recommend to our family and friends.
We really enjoyed our four weeks in Lobster Cottage #1. Ian is a great host. He provided an excellent orientation, and was very responsive to our needs. Not that we needed much. The place was in great working order and well equipped, including both a clothes washer and dishwasher. The beds were comfortable, and the living/dining area was nice, especially in the cozy glow of the gas fireplace. The three bedrooms allowed us to have family visit us from the USA. The location is great. It's right across the road from the harbor. The views from the cottage are wonderful. You can watch the sunrise and the boats in the harbor from the windows and the front patio. There is a fishing boat quay directly opposite the place. The cottage is less than a mile from the center of town, and less than that to the nearest pubs and restaurants. Kinsale itself is a delightful town with interesting shops, great pubs -- some with live music -- and many stellar restaurants. It's in a beautiful part of Ireland, with fascinating historic sites in the area. The only negative is traffic noise on the road between the cottage and the harbor. Having said that, we would gladly stay at Lobster Cottage #1 again.
