The space

Colle dell'ara is not a hotel. Staying with us, in our home, means treating yourself to a rare experience.
We are in Positano, in the small village of Montepertuso, located just above this corner of paradise on the Amalfi Coast.
The building is situated on top of the hill and can be reached on foot in 5-6 minutes through an ancient path, fully illuminated at night.

Guest access

We are Pasquale and Giacomo, who with the help of our father Michele, a few years ago we decided to undertake this activity which constantly
is giving us the opportunity to convey to our guests our main passions for hospitality and good food. These passions, well-established in our
coastal land and agriculture, allowing us to constantly reinvent the offer to our guests dedicated, basing it on availability and seasonality values.

We host you in rooms equipped with private bathroom and balcony overlooking the sea of Positano between the islands of Capri and Li Galli. Each room has a large double bed (with the possibility of adding a single bed), and are equipped with linens, towels and toiletries. Free wi-fi connection is working in all our spaces. We provide you with keys for your independent access at every time.

Interaction with guests

Upon your arrival you will find free parking slots along the road and we'll help you carry your luggage with a special pulling system.
We will assist you from beginning, accompanying you throughout whole of your stay suggesting you the best local amenities including activities from ourselves offered.
You will have here the opportunity to experience our land through different activities such us farming excursions and local cooking classes (events organized on reservation). We always include breakfast, different every day and based on availability of our gardens, or made by the breads and cakes that we daily prepare.

Beautiful views overlooking Positano, Capri and beyond. Delicious breakfast every morning including fresh figs, tomatoes, grapes from garden. Marco and father were very nice to us throughout our stay. There are restaurants nearby (about 15/20 min walk). I told the host in advance that we wanted to do the cooking class that they run. When we checked in around 1 PM, there was a class going on. We wish they told us about that because we would have tried to get there earlier to join. They did not hold it again for the 3 nights we were there. No working wifi in rooms while we were there. Please note it is a hike to get to/from the property with lots of rocky steps. One night it was raining heavily and we couldn't leave to get dinner because it would be too dangerous to walk down in rain. Positano center is about 25 minutes by bus, and 1 hour by walking. Very unique property with kind hosts, great views, and delicious breakfast. Would stay again.

This place was beautiful. A family farm up in the mountains. It isn't close to the town of Positano but buses run every hour and it's about a 30min journey into town. Unfortunate the day I arrived I was welcomed by a torrential storm, due to this I had some water running into my room and a small army of ants found their way in to shelter from the storm. But besides that it was great. They provided us with a complimentary breakfast each morning, most of which was home grown or made. I had a huge room with a great bathroom and the most amazing view of the coastline. From the bus stop there is a path that will take you to the house. Just be warned this is more a natural path caved into the side of the mountain so it is uphill and rocky. I wouldn't recommend walking it in heels or if you have knee/hip problems, but the view you get from the top for me was well worth it. They have a system to get your bag up there so you won't have to worry about that. If I'm ever in Positano again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Great location if you're after a quite area (away from the tourists in Positano). There is a bus that runs hourly just out the front of the accommodation, and is only a few Euros. It takes around 20-30 mins to get to Positano and was quite easy to find to return home. We drove and parking was available near by (super handy - if you've ever been to Positano it's not an easy place to park). The place is perched up high in the mountains and has an incredible view of the area surrounding Positano (the room opens up to this view also). Breakfast is really excellent (highlights being; delicious homemade omelette, cakes and fresh tomatoes/figs from the garden) and the chef very friendly, making us fresh Espresso for both our days there. We also had some great restaurant recommendations, and they are all within walking distance (along with equally incredible views). Would stay again if we come back to Positano.

We stayed in Pasquale's place for three nights. We arrived very late but the brothers who run the b&b were very accommodating to our arrival, even helping us to hire a taxi from Naples to Positano and met us on the street to help with luggage and show us exactly where to go. Upon arrival we were STUNNED by the breathtaking view. We felt very welcomed and this hospitality did not falter throughout our stay. They offered great recommendations, even arranging a dinner reservation on our behalf. The b&b in itself is comfortable, quiet and clean. It has a farm-like feel and proved to be relaxing. Breakfast each morning was fresh and overall the description and reviews prove to be true. Our only issue with the place- and quite a big issue- was the location. Secluded and isolated, it's a solid hour walk to the town and beach. This walk is almost exclusively staircases and even as 23-year-old, active individuals, we struggled to enjoy it. The bus schedule is hourly but the buses are hard to catch in town (we stayed during high season) and incredibly packed. Taxis are available but extremely expensive. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place for those looking for more solitude and quiet.

Hosts were so warming and welcoming! It really felt like a home away from home. Breakfast was amazing and the Bus was SUPER easy to catch down to Positano with the stop right out front. Stairs to the BnB were well lit and good incidental exercise. Would definitely recommend!

We spent 2 nights at this wonderful location. We were met by Marco (brother of 3) who welcomed us into the property. The luggage machine was a relief considering the 'hike' to the main house. After 5mins of uphill walking, the views are so beautiful, not to mention all the pasta you have walked off ;) Once at the house, you will forget all about the walk and will enjoy the amazing property that has been setup. The rooms are simple, clean, as well as the private bathrooms. Our bathroom was located down the hall from our room. The atmosphere was so relaxing and quiet. The morning breakfast was a delight! Eating out on the main balcony was so enjoyable each morning, chatting with others staying at the property. There is a bus 2mins walk that takes you into Positano - approx 15mins (depending traffic), €1.70. The location is more secluded. After experiencing the traffic once you are out of Montepertuso it's quicker to catch the bus to Positano. We will most certainly be recommending this beautiful property for those that want to enjoy a 'local', relaxed and quiet Amalfi!

This place is a dream. So secluded and removed from the hoardes of tourists down in Positano (which is a lovely, but busy, town with lots of beautiful art shops). Breakfast is amazing and you can have dinner (which seemed a very reasonable price) but we didn't have it during our short stay. As other reviews say, there is a bus into town (don't be tempted to drive - parking is a nightmare and expensive) and there are lots of steps up. No air conditioning which would have made this place perfect, however, it is still absolutely gorgeous!
