  • - We had a lovely 5 night stay at the B&B last week - Pasquale, Giacomo & dad Michele were wonderful hosts, making us feel welcome and looked after from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We really felt as if we were staying in a home away from home, hanging out in the living room with a glass of wine and chatting to the owners/other guests, and this made the experience that much more special.
    - Our room was neat and tidy, with a lovely balcony & a fantastic view - the only downside was that the bed was not the most comfortable.
    - The B&B is located up in the hills, away from the main town of Positano and is perfectly located if you want to relax in a peaceful environment. We found relying on the bus to get around to be restrictive, since they only run once every hour (and once every 2 hours after about 5pm), so we ended up renting a Smart car in Positano which was far more convenient for us. It was easy to get to Praiano, Amalfi & Pompeii by car from the B&B.
    - One night, we had the pleasure of having a home cooked meal by Michele along with 6 other guests at the B&B which was a lovely experience.
    - Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and the B&B was good value for money in what can be a very expensive area if you are looking at hotels.

  • Our stay was amazing from beginning to end! Pasquel was an attentive host and it was clear that he really wanted his guests to enjoy their experience. The views from the terrace and our room were stunning and definitely made us feel very content and relaxed during our stay! Hopefully we will be back soon!

  • STAY HERE! Really, that's all I need to say about this place. Stay here - you won't regret it. First, Pasquale and his family are very nice and super helpful. We arrived much later than planned but Pasquale was there to help us with our luggage and even added us in to the family dinner even though they hadn't expected us to be there. The family dinners, by the way, are out of this world and some of the best food we had in our entire stay in Italy. The family cooks the dinners from vegetables they grow in their own garden. They are very much into sustainable living which I greatly appreciated. And the quality was fantastic since it's coming from right outside the house! They bring out dish after delicious dish and keep your wine glass full throughout the entire meal. And the price for it was cheaper than any of the other restaurants we tried. They make their own limoncello, too, which we heard guests rave about it. Unfortunately, someone bought 20 bottles of it before they checked out, completely wiping them out of their stock. (I'm hoping to be able to order a few when the new batch is finished!)

Our room had a massive balcony that over-looked the sea and Positano. (All of the rooms have amazing views, but some rooms have larger balconies than others). Positano is meant to be viewed from the sea or from above; when you step out on that balcony you will understand why.

It's great to not be in the center of town. There are a ton of tourists in Positano all the time; it's nice not to be a part of that. Staying up in the mountains felt more authentic and relaxing. There is a bus one minute from the steps leading to the B&B. It doesn't run very frequently but it runs the same time every day and if you plan ahead of time when you want to leave you'll have no problem. The best restaurants are, also, up in the area where the B&B is located and many of them are either walking distance away or they have a shuttle that will come pick you up and drop you off.

From the B&B you are only about a 5-10 minute walk from the Path of the Gods, which has some of the most stunning views you can imagine. You can, also, take the 1600 stairs down to the center of town which offers great views along the way, too.

Breakfast is fantastic. Lots of homemade cakes, cheeses, meats, fruit, cereal and great cappuccinos. If it's nice weather you can eat on the shared patio which is quintessential Italy with the grape vines crawling over the terrace and the sea and Positano below.

We adored the family, the B&B, and our stay. And the price is great. This place is a steal and a lucky find. Don't hesitate, just book!

  • We had a wonderful stay with the brothers. We arrived at the side of the mountain and Pasquel came down to greet us. He took us up to their beautiful home by following a garden path. The view from the room was stunning, looking down on the seaside villas. It was a bit of a hike down to town, so we recommend getting a hang of the bus schedule.
We started each morning with breakfast on the large patio eating meat and cheeses laid out my the brothers. One night they cooked us a fantastic dinner, several courses and one of our favorites while we were in Italy (30 euro/person). Well worth it.

Great stay that we highly recommend!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Colle dell'ara B&B and could not recommend it more! Despite the short hike up to the B&B, the views were spectacular! Our room was perfect and fairly large! Private large bathroom (very clean!) and cute balcony with amazing views. When we arrived, the brothers warmly greeted us and offered us some of their homemade limoncello! A highlight was the walk down to Positano -- which took about an hour because we stopped so many times to take photos of the incredible views. Although it was over 1,000 steps, it was well worth it and really the best way to see the beauty of Positano. On our second night, the brothers cooked a wonderful dinner -- lots of vino from the area and vegetables from their own gardens. We really felt taken care of at Colle dell'ara and look forward to going back in the future. For the price, you cannot get a better deal for Positano and I appreciated being up the mountain and away from all the tourists in the town in the evening.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Colle dell'ara! I was a bit hesitant at first since it wasn't in the heart of Positano - and as we took the bus up towards Montepertuso further and further away from Positano and then got dropped off the bus in the middle of the street, I very much wondered what we had gotten ourselves into. But I was very quickly reassured when lovely Pasquale came down to help us with our bags and lead us up to his family's lovely home through a nature walk, of sorts, up a hill to the property. The house is beautiful and pristine with the most wonderful views of the Amalfi Coast including a bit of Capri. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless and comfortable and most importantly, the family is so kind and helpful. Thankfully, we got the opportunity to partake in one of their home cooked dinners using foods they grow in their gardens, which was delicious! And their limencello and special walnut liquor are amazing. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed our stay here and am so glad that we stayed outside Positano as it really felt more special and personal - not to mention that the price value was exceptional!

  • Positano was our first stop from Los Angeles, we had a long trip with delays and couldn't have felt more welcomed when we finally reached Colle dell'ara to see Marco racing down the hill on a scooter to greet us. Our luggage was sent up by an old metal pulley cart and we enjoyed a short 5minute walk up the beautiful stone steps, warm light guiding the pathway through the trees. The building has a rustic charm with an extremely clean, bright, inviting atmosphere. Room3 faces the ocean and town below. The bedroom was very comfortable; the mountain breeze fills the room. In the morning, the guests sit on the patio with the wide selection of meats, cheese, fruit, pastries, and the homegrown delicious figs. Marco and Giacomo are gracious, friendly hosts, with helpful information regarding the buses and the town. We were sad to only have stayed three nights, we wish we could have had more time and plan to return one day. Here are some tips I wish I had before my trip: 1.) Local transport runs on its own schedule and shuts down in the early evening- Arrive during the daytime. - The most relaxing way is a train to Salerno, water taxi to Positano, then walk 5-10minutes up from the beach to take the local bus up to the B&B. Otherwise, the slightly cheaper but less scenic route is train to Naples, the "Circumvesuviana" train to Sorrento, SITA bus from the station to "Positano". Then the local bus toward "Monterpertuso", which takes you directly to the B&B's own "Colle dell'ara" stop. If you arrive late, take Giacomo's car service for 100euro from Naples. We sat on the train from Naples to Sorrento just to find we missed the last bus to Positano and paid 100euro for only 1/3 the distance the car service drives. 2.) Take the water ferry whenever an option; Visitng the Amalfi coast or to and from the train station in Salerno. The best way to travel and a great experience. 3.) Eat at "La Tagliata" just 5minutes walk down from the Colle dell'ara stop. No menu; 35euro buys you many courses of their home grown everything and bottles of their wine. You'll be blown away by the quality, quantity and views your 35euro buys. 4.) The bus costs 1.30euro up or down the mountain, a taxi costs 30euro. The last bus back up leaves at 11:20pm. Don't miss it. 5.) Lastly, something to be aware of- Colle dell'ara is technically in Monterpertuso, not Positano. So, as long as don't mind waiting for the bus each day and the 5minute mini hike up the steps to the B&B from the road, this is the place to be. I wouldn't advise this for anyone in poor physical condition; it might be too hard. We enjoyed being up and away from the town, it was peaceful. Walking the steps at the end of the day helped us walk off all the delicious food we ate...

  • The Miola's home is absolutely out of this world. From the time you get off the bus in Colle dell'ara and push the button on the cliff, watch your belongings rise up the mountain and make the trek up to the stone house, to the time you watch the sun set over the cliffs on the coast, you'll know you made the right choice to stay here. Giacomo was not there during my stay but Marco, Pasquale and their lovely father were incredibly gracious hosts. The room was large, clean and had the most incredible view from the patio on the third floor. I enjoyed two dinners made from vegetables grown from the property at 30 euro-- and worth every penny. The best meals I had in Italy (and very generous portions with constant refills of wine!). The remote location overlooking Positano is so peaceful, the air is clean and crisp, and it's silent at night. Unless of course you happen upon a birthday party on the patio and are treated to live guitar music! Truly, one of the most memorable places I've ever been and I hope everyone has the opportunity to visit such a magical place!

  • Absolutely beautiful B&B with the most stunning view of the Amalfi I have ever seen. Super clean, phenomenally beautiful and verdant landscape, great breakfast and the family is wonderful. They were super nice, happy, and even cooked a big dinner for all the guests one night (+30 Euro pp), and made dinner and transportation arrangements for us. Do note: once you get off the local bus at the B&B stop, it is pretty another long/steep walk up a dirt path to finally reach the B&B. The family meets you at the stop and leads the way when you first arrive, which is great, but it is much farther than we expected...especially walking up after a dinner out. Small price to pay for the amazing view!

Thanks for all of your hospitality, i felt like i was in heaven for 2days and i cannot forget the breakfast with Medditerrean view at the top of the Positona forever. Hope i can go back again later!
