Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Salamonie State Property surrounds the Carriage House on three sides which means, this is all public land for you to explore!
The Carriage House shares five acres with our residence.
The Carriage House has loads of rustic charm, however, the modern amenities will keep you comfortable! Whether you're horseback riding, fishing, boating, hiking, biking on the Wabash County Trail, seeing a show at the Honeywell Center or just simply...want to get away, the Carriage House is awaiting your arrival!

The space
Salamonie State Property is located on three sides of the Carriage House! All of the Salamonie Property is "public land" for you to explore! The Salamonie Bridle Trail is located directly behind The Carriage House. This trail can be used for horseback riding or hiking. The Salamonie Reservoir is east of our property (you can totally walk to the lake by cutting through the woods).

Salamonie provides 12,000 beautiful acres that consist of meadows, trails, reservoir, state forest, play grounds, camp grounds and ponds.

Our barn entrance is on flat ground, the Carriage House (apartment) is located up an enclosed staircase with carpet treads which makes the steps easier for pets.

When you get to the top of the steps, you can then open the apartment door where you and your guests will be staying. The living room, kitchen and bathroom are on the main floor in the apartment. All bedrooms are located on the second floor of the apartment. There is a total of two (2) staircases when staying at this property...one staircase takes you to your apartment (carriage house) and the second staircase takes you up to the bedrooms (see pics).

We no longer board horses at this location; we do have a bunny and a duck that live in the barn and a barn cat named Tiger! Tiger spends as much time in my personal home as she does in the barn. She wears a flea collar and has all of her vaccinations so she isn't a "wild" cat...she loves to get her ears scratched and loves to climb trees! If you're lucky enough to spot her, she knows her name so calling "Tiger" will definitely get you brownie points with our kitty :)
I have always been a dog lover, however, Tiger has stolen my heart and I now have a deep appreciation for kitty's too! We have a rescue pup named Ozzy, he is a poodle mix, he's all black and he is a huge part of our family! To say we love animals is an understatement! Ozzy is always in our home, only goes out to use the facilities...he's about 14 years old now so he can't hear very well or see too well but he makes us laugh everyday...he's such a gift! Enough about our pets...here's more about our space...

The Carriage House does has WIFI, however, our WIFI is usually pretty slow due to the remote location of The Carriage House.

We have a smart television in each bedroom; we do not have a television in the family room.

We have a large gravel driveway that provides plenty of parking during your stay. Please park in the designated parking spots located and labeled at the back of the barn.

We do offer horse boarding if you're riding the trails, however, we do not provide horses for guest use as we no longer board horses at this location.

Contact us for specific details regarding pasture and stall rental if you choose to bring your own horse for riding on the trails.

Guest access
The Carriage House is completely private, there are no shared spaces. We do go into the bottom of the barn to access the animals so you could hear us from time to time but our paths usually do not cross unless you happen to be outside when we are out. When I'm on vacation, I always appreciate my privacy so we can only assume you feel the same way :)
