About This Listing
There are no cleaning fees. And this is not a share. You will have the flat to yourself.
This large, very sunny one-bedroom apartment measures about 650 square-foot in a lovely brownstone building on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
It's located just a few steps from Central Park in a charming neighborhood filled with wonderful cafes, bars and restaurants. The flat sits on a very quiet, tree-lined street that's dotted with prewar Beaux-Arts and landmark brownstone buildings.
The three - room flat has air conditioning and includes WiFi and TV. It has a newly renovated kitchen and wonderfully renovated bath in a well-appointed, very clean and quiet apartment with modern decor. The apartment has a full-size bed, hardwood floors, 10-foot high ceilings and plenty of natural light. All utilities, linens, towels etc are included in the price. There are no extra cleaning fees. This is not a share. You will have it to yourself.
The apartment is centrally located to many subway stations and not far from Lincoln Center and the Museum of Natural History.
If you've seen a leafy, residential Manhattan neighborhood depicted on TV or in the movies, there's a decent chance it was the Upper West Side. It's where Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks lived in You've Got Mail, where Jerry made his home on Seinfeld (and in real life) and where Liz Lemon lived on 30 Rock. Chuck Bass owned a hotel there on Gossip Girl.
Most visitors ans locals love the local flavor and the fact the area attracts people from around the world and across all generations.
The Upper West Side is bracketed by Central Park and Riverside Park. There's culture, in the form of the American Museum of Natural History, the Beacon Theatre and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. And plenty of shopping, eating and nightlife as well. Read on for details about what to see and do.
There are several easy subway and bus connections in and around the apartment and the UWS. Take the 1, 2 or 3 , or C or B trains to 86th Street. The red line (1, 2, 3 trains) stops along Broadway. The B and C lines stops along Central Park West.
This is a non-smoking apartment. Pets are not allowed.
Joseph, was very responsive and accommodating at the last minute. The apartment was bright and as advertised. The location was great, and the whole experience was very easy.
The apartment was in a wonderful location, a quiet street, with a few minutes walk to the hustle and bustle of New York avenues.
Leading up to our stay Joseph was extremely easy to contact and had a very quick response in replying to emails and messages.
Everything was easy to find, and very well located so getting to the apartment and getting in was stress free which is just what we wanted after getting off an 8 hour flight!!
The apartment was just what we wanted, small but spacious with every thing you would need, we always ate but it was good to have the option to eat there. The bed was wonderfully comfy and everything was clean and well ordered so we didn't struggle to find anything!
The apartment was up 3 flights of stairs so with two suitcases it was a struggle, but we didn't expect any didn't so it wasn't a shock! And it was a laugh lugging our suitcases up there!
Overall an amazing stay in NYC and at the apartment and I would definitely rent off of Joseph again!
Great place and at a amazing (and safe!) location in New York! Right next to the park and a series of awesome restaurants! We didn't meet Joseph - but he was very helpful and had everything set up, and had emailed us all details. Check in and check out was easy and convenient. Would definitely recommend!
The place was wonderful, in a great location! Troy was very helpful and easy to communicate with throughout the stay. He also was quick to let us know we could check in early, as the previous guests had an early flight out which was very helpful
Location is amazing, two blocks from subway and 10 seconds walking from central park.
The apartment is quite spacious for two people
The interior is nicely furnished.
Really (website hidden) in the summer is a life saver.
Not as clean as we had wished. The shower curtain had mold and the floor was dusty. It took 3 days to get a cleaner to come so we just cleaned it ourselves. Just throw a couple bucks and get the place clean for new guest, you only have one first impression. Especially for guests who spend a couple nights (10 days for us).
At the end of our trip, Joseph asked us to not leave a review if it wasn’t a good one. This made us wonder if other people, lacking courage, may have passed on writing a bad review. Unprofessional and tarnished and otherwise fantastics trip.
Adrien and his friend were very good guests and left my apartment in terrific shape. I'd be happy to recommend them. The shower curtain was indeed not cleaned so it has simply replaced. In this case, my cleaning woman simply failed to get back to the flat because of a childcare issue. These things occasionally happen in life. She's a wonderful lady who will continue to do great work at the apartment. As you can see from the dozens of good reviews (more than 50!), this flat is a very popular, safe and inexpensive place to stay in Manhattan. It's a great space with plenty of natural light and just steps to Central Park. As the reviews make clear, many guests recognize the value of an apartment like this in an expensive city like New York.
We had a great stay. Amazing location, gracious fun host. Quite clean and just a block from the train. Super happy campers :)
Great location--quiet, right on the park, and a short walk to good food and coffee and great museums. A nice place to recharge and lay your head while visiting NYC. It is a 4th floor walkup which may be an issue for some but was not for us. Troy communicated clearly in advance and was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

About the Host, Joseph
I'm a journalist and split my time between New York and Europe, where I lived and worked for several years. When I travel, I occasionally rent out my apartment for short stays. It's a wonderful little apartment in a terrific section of Manhattan.
