About this listing
A cozy wooden house in a quiet residential area. 1,5 km from downtown, 100 m from a lake. We live there, a family of four, but the basement floor is all yours :-)
The house, our home, is a wooden house built in 1922. We are situated only 1,5 km from downtown Tampere, in one of the oldest residential areas of Tampere. Downtown is 15 min by foot, 5 min on a bike, car or by bus. The area is very secluded, you can also enjoy nature as there's a lake favoured by fishermen, ornitologists as well as joggers just 50 m from the house! In our central heated basement there's a bedroom as well as a guest living room that can be transferred into a second bedroom, and a spa style huge bathroom with a jacuzzi, shower and a sauna. Also in the basement floor there's a washer and a dryer for your perusal, and we have free wifi for you to surf the web whenever you wish.
The bed is queen size, 120 cm wide, and it sleeps two unless the couple are used to a lot of space. In addition there's a sofa bed, also queen size. The maximum sleeping capacity is 4 people.
We are a family with two small kids and we live in the house as well, - so be prepared to hear some sounds of normal family life during your stay :-) We love to travel and meet people from other countries. Breakfast is included in the room price.
The pricing is for two people, assuming they share a bed. Additional people are accommodated in the other bedroom.
The guests are free to have breakfast in the kitchen, as breakfast is included in the price. Other use of kitchen facilities is generally not encouraged as it's our family area, but of course we're flexible - it's not a no go zone :-)
Interaction with Guests
We enjoy meeting people and that's one of the biggest reasons we do Airbnb. However, since it's our family home and we have two children and our own busy lives, we do not automatically guarantee that we will entertain the guests. Of course we're always there if you need to ask questions, recommendations and so on, but we do not automatically invite you to have dinner or so on. Of course, sometimes we do, and we often have done so, but it all depends on our day to day duties and busy schedules. You know how it is - normal family life :-)
The neighborhood is a quiet residential area, protected by the museum board as it is one of the oldest built areas of Tampere. Almost all of the houses were built in the 1920s. There a many families with children, and there are many parks and playgrounds nearby - on just bordering our house.
You can reach our house very easily by bus - the bus number 10 stops just 100 m from our house.
No pets, smoking, drugs or partying are allowed in the premises.
It was short, but very nice staying at Heidi's home. The interior of the house is traditional scandinavian and was exactly what we dreamed of
to feel real Finnish atmosphere. Since that moment I know that want to live in the house such this. Thanks, Heidi, for unforgettable moments!
A perfect place to hace a nice holydays! Everything clean, good situation and lovely people! Highly recommended!
Heidi is a perfect host, we enjoyed every single moment in her house in Tampere! The environment is beautiful, the garden is green and beloved, the kitchen and everything is clean, the rentable part of the house is cozy... We feel thankful and blessed to find this wonderful place, and could met to Heidi and her family! xxx The Hungarian Acappella Ensemble, Jazzation
How wonderful to have come across this very charming home and even fantastic host! We very much enjoyed our stay and loved the atmosphere. The room had literally everything we could have hoped for and the address is very conveniently located, close to the center of town and right on the shores of the lake with nice footpaths and a good selection of Finnish birds. Heidi is very welcoming, was able to help us out with several queries and ensured our stay in Tampere pleasant and smooth. Thanks a lot Heidi!!
Heidi was very kind to us. We felt part of the family with the children who were also very nice.
The top of the interior was for us the bathroom. It really seemed like a luxurious hotel with the bath and the sauna.
The neighborhood is very quite and typical Finnish.
Will go again for sur. Thank you.
Heidi was very welcoming, even after a long day at work, and was very flexible in offering ways to meet up and check in. Though it was a short stay, we really enjoyed staying at Heidi's house which is located in a quiet suburb just outside of Tampere. We arrived by car and it easy to find, located minutes off the motorway, with easy access to the city. Although the sleeping arrangement was not the most quiet, as expected, we enjoyed the charm and warm feel of the house -and, of course, and our first experience with a Finnish sauna.
