A cozy wooden house in a quiet residential area. 1,5 km from downtown, 100 m from a lake. We live there, a family of four, but the basement floor is all yours :-)
The house, our home, is a wooden house built in 1922. We are situated only 1,5 km from downtown Tampere, in one of the oldest residential areas of Tampere. Downtown is 15 min by foot, 5 min on a bike, car or by bus. The area is very secluded, you can also enjoy nature as there's a lake favoured by fishermen, ornitologists as well as joggers just 50 m from the house! In our central heated basement there's a bedroom as well as a guest living room that can be transferred into a second bedroom, and a spa style huge bathroom with a jacuzzi, shower and a sauna. Also in the basement floor there's a washer and a dryer for your perusal, and we have free wifi for you to surf the web whenever you wish.
The bed is queen size, 120 cm wide, and it sleeps two unless the couple are used to a lot of space. In addition there's a sofa bed, also queen size. The maximum sleeping capacity is 4 people.
We are a family with two small kids and we live in the house as well, - so be prepared to hear some sounds of normal family life during your stay :-) We love to travel and meet people from other countries. Breakfast is included in the room price.
The pricing is for two people, assuming they share a bed. Additional people are accommodated in the other bedroom.
The guests are free to have breakfast in the kitchen, as breakfast is included in the price. Other use of kitchen facilities is generally not encouraged as it's our family area, but of course we're flexible - it's not a no go zone :-)
Interaction with Guests
We enjoy meeting people and that's one of the biggest reasons we do Airbnb. However, since it's our family home and we have two children and our own busy lives, we do not automatically guarantee that we will entertain the guests. Of course we're always there if you need to ask questions, recommendations and so on, but we do not automatically invite you to have dinner or so on. Of course, sometimes we do, and we often have done so, but it all depends on our day to day duties and busy schedules. You know how it is - normal family life :-)
The neighborhood is a quiet residential area, protected by the museum board as it is one of the oldest built areas of Tampere. Almost all of the houses were built in the 1920s. There a many families with children, and there are many parks and playgrounds nearby - on just bordering our house.
You can reach our house very easily by bus - the bus number 10 stops just 100 m from our house.
No pets, smoking, drugs or partying are allowed in the premises.
Heidi was very welcoming, even after a long day at work, and was very flexible in offering ways to meet up and check in. Though it was a short stay, we really enjoyed staying at Heidi's house which is located in a quiet suburb just outside of Tampere. We arrived by car and it easy to find, located minutes off the motorway, with easy access to the city. Although the sleeping arrangement was not the most quiet, as expected, we enjoyed the charm and warm feel of the house -and, of course, and our first experience with a Finnish sauna.
Lovely house ideally situated not far from the center of Tempere.
Nice people ready to let you appreciate the confort of the different rooms and the big kitchen especially.
The reservation was canceled 18 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Asuintilat ja sauna ovat aivan ihastuttavat ja varmaankin myös piha kesäaikaan.
Heidi ja Harri ovat ihanan vieraanvaraisia ja joustavia.
Heidi was really nice during the reservation and gave us a warm welcome to us and our little girl of 2 years. Unfortunately the apartment was not 100% as mentioned at AIRBNB. Currently it's only 1 room which is only separated by a curtain (so its difficult to do something in the evening once the baby is sleeping as she was just behind the curtain). No door can be closed between the basement were you live and the rest of the house (so no privacy possible). So the apartment was not as we expected and we decided to leave the place after 1 night. We proposed to Heidi to split the reservation and to pay 2 nights and be reimbursed for the 2 other nights of our 4 days stay. We were disappointed that finally she proposed us only 70 €. We didn't find this a fair way.
Beautiful home with kind hosts in cozy neighborhood on the side of a lake. City center was easy to access on a bike and took less than 15 minutes. Heidi was very helpful and gave us good restaurant tips. In the morning she made us coffee and toast. During the second night of our stay we enjoyed their Sauna at least for an hour. The steam was just right as it's supposed to be :)
This is a really nice basement in a lovely part of Tampere; well worth taking a walk around the area and it was particularly nice in the autumn colours.
Heidi was a great host and made me feel very much at home!
