About This Listing
Stay in this beautiful, light-filled cottage in South Eugene near downtown. Surrounded on two sides by a sunny flower and vegetable garden (during the summer) and shaded by a large hazelnut tree, this cottage is comfortable and very pleasing. Recently remodeled, this space is the perfect union of rustic and modern. The cottage includes a full bathroom with a newly-tiled shower. There is a large wooden countertop in the room with a deep sink and a refrigerator. The space also includes a desk and chair, a coatrack and a large closet. The full bed is fitted with extremely soft Egyptian cotton to ensure a comfortable night's rest.
The cottage is located behind a newly remodeled, beautiful home. The folks in the main house are very tidy and polite and will not disturb you. We are surrounded on all sides by very quiet and respectful neighbors. The neighborhood is filled with lovely gardens and there is a park one block away that is perfect for an evening stroll. If you are on foot, downtown is a ten minutes away and the university is fifteen. There is ample space for parking in front of the house, so no need to worry about parking while here.
If you absolutely must smoke, you may do so outside, on the patio.
Please be respectful of the neighbors when entering and exiting the building.
We had such an amazing stay at this magnificent cottage! It was clean, plenty of space, and had all of the essentials for a perfect stay. It truly was the epitome of relaxation! Our host was great and even left us a local craft beer to enjoy, which especially for my husband and I, being the craft beer lovers we are, was the perfect kick off to a wonderful experience in Eugene!
We loved our stay at Joey's College Hill Cottage! The space was sweet and restful, the bed super comfy, and the linens and towels so luxurious. The neighborhood is great for walking, with a park nearby, and a quiet, small-town feel. Joey was a super host, and made check in easy and streamlined. We would stay again anytime!
Joey is the perfect host (I'd say a super host!). He is very kind and and made us feel very welcome. His cottage is clean, beautiful and bright. I would definitely stay again. Thanks Joey! (and you have super nice friends as well!).
This place was great! Clean, cozy, & the hosts were awesome. It has a lovely view of their garden of which I am jealous. The photos are accurate. I highly recommend.
The cottage was just lovely and Joey was a great host! The space was beautifully decorated, very clean and welcoming. We didn't get to meet Joey, but he was warm and friendly over email and texts and the information he sent us was very thorough and helpful. We had everything we needed, got great sleep in the comfortable bed and Joey was kind enough to be flexible with us about check-out time in the morning. I wish we could have stayed longer than one night to enjoy this charming space that is clearly well-loved and cared for. Thank you, Joey!
Joey is always so hospitable and kind. He also has a keen eye for design. Thanks!
Joey was extremely proactive in notifying me about an issue that resulted from a former renter. I greatly appreciated him doing that.
The place was clean and just as described. No TV, which was fine with me. The neighborhood was charming. Right by a park and took a long walk.
About the Host, Joey
I grew up in San Rafael, California and I moved to Eugene in 2006. Now, I'm a Project Manager at software firm that specializes in design, engineering and delivery. In all aspects of my life I strive for minimalism – you'll notice this when you stay in my cottage. With less clutter there is more room for thought, peace and contentment.
Because I'm a minimalist, I travel light and only with the essentials. I also live light and only with the essentials. I value quality, and I'm willing to pay for it – when one has less, one can invest more. Additionally, I value experiential wealth rather than material wealth. I put a high value on time spent with friends around the table enjoying the fruits of our world.
I love to cook (and eat!). I also love wine, beer and liquor – to explore the nuance beverage is an unending adventure and one I thoroughly enjoy. And, of course, libation brings great revelry to each occasion.
Airbnb in wonderful because I have the chance to meet interesting people when I host them in my home. I'm a generous person, and Airbnb gives me a chance to share with others. You may notice small treats when you first arrive at my house.
Fun and easy food, greasy but delicious. This is a very laid back, brew pub.
A great place to sit and watch the sunset or walk (bring a picnic from Capella market here). It's just a short jaunt up the hill.
Beer, beer and more beer. Anyone who likes beer must visit Eugene's best beer market. They have 20+ exotic or local beers on tap, good food and a bustling atmosphere. Expect a crowd.
They have everything here (including a wine selection that features local wines). Their deli makes sandwiches and cuts deli meets and cheeses – which are great for a quick lunch. Go here for a snack.
The best place for produce in Eugene (aside from the Saturday Farmer's Market). This is a total hippy-dippy-chill-out-hey-dude place, but their produce is amazing. Recommended if you're into organics.
