Winter Rates from $100/night! Cozy artists loft off the beaten path of NYC, in the burgeoning neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn. Stay in our guest cabin, inside a converted textile factory, filled with light, art, and plants. Half block from subway.
Note: We will be subletting the entire apartment in March, please contact us if you're interested.
A Cabin in a Loft is a guest room that my partner Adam and I have in our live/work loft space in the vibrant artists neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn. The apartment has been featured various international design magazines and blogs and is a great option for any design-minded or otherwise curious individuals seeking a unique and cozy place to stay in New York.
The room that is available is a cozy house-shaped cabin situated inside of a converted textile factory. It's half a block away from the L train and just two blocks away from Bogart Street, which has come to be something of a starting point for visitors to Bushwick. Galleries, great bars and cafes, 24-hour natural food stores, and some of the best restaurants and taco joints in Brooklyn are located within walking distance. The L train will take you to Williamsburg in 10 minutes and Union Square in 15 minutes.
The apartment is an open, light-filled space with exposed brick walls, hardwood floors, and high ceilings and is located in a building filled with mostly young creative professionals and artists. Besides the bedroom with a full-size bed and a place to hang your clothes, you have a nook outside the cabin with a small table and some plants. You also have access to the rooftop, with beautiful 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline and all around Brooklyn and Queens. In the mornings, we provide fresh fruit, coffee or tea, and other breakfast items such as yogurt and granola.
Adam and I are both artists and designers, and we live in a second room in the apartment.
It is important to note that the apartment is situated in a creative but still industrial neighborhood, which we love, but is not for everybody. There is also one (friendly) cat living in the space, so it may not be appropriate for those with allergies.
Please send a message if you are interested in staying at the cabin, with your travel dates and a little bit about yourself. Thanks, we look forward to meeting you!
— shared bathroom with bathtub and shower
— small personal desk space / breakfast nook
— living room with record player and LPs
— modest breakfast
We live in the space in a second cabin/bedroom. We're happy to offer advice on local sights, customs, and itineraries. We have maps that we've made of some of our recommended spots to eat, drink, visit, and explore around the neighborhood and the city.
Great restaurants, bars, cafes, galleries, 24-hour natural food stores all within walking distance. Very industrial neighborhood but things feel very active; a very creative energy is all around. Beautiful wall murals / street art, friendly people. Big skies.
L Train is half a block away; easy transit to East Village, Union Square, Chelsea (Manhattan) in 12-20 minutes, and Williamsburg (Brooklyn) in 10 minutes.
If you are adventurous, there are two public buses nearby that will take you to South Williamsburg, Downtown Brooklyn, Red Hook, and more.

It was such a pleasure staying in Terri & Adam's loft. The pictures don't do the space justice, and it was such a lovely few days staying in such a warm, open space. Terri & Adam are amazing hosts (and amazing artists!), and my friend Luise and I loved the list of their favorite places to explore. And Boo is adorable and friendly too!
We've already recommended the place to several of our friends, and would love to stay here again anytime we're in the area :)
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cabin! The Loft is a great place, very comfy! Adam and Terri and Boo of course, too, are great hosts.
The 7 days me and my daughter stayed at Terri & Adam's "A Cabin in a Loft in Brooklyn" is one of the best weeks we've ever had in New York. The loft is such a warm and artistic place we love it right after we stepped into it and spent lots of time in it during our trip.
Terri and Adam are wonderful hosts. Because our flight delayed, the day we arrived at the loft was almost midnight, Terri and Adam not only friendly welcomed us but also generously invited us to have a late night dinner with them~~We appreciated a lot!!
We had lived in Manhattan for one year and this was the first experience we lived in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Bushwick is an industrial area you might not feel comfortable at the beginning. But the building of Terri and Adam's loft is located perfectly which is just steps away from the subway station Morgan Ave. And after a few days of discovery I found this area is full of surprise which needs everyone to embrace it with a little bit of courage. Even though you might be hesitate to explore Bushwick, still, it's just 10 minutes subway ride to Manhattan.
We truly enjoyed this "A Cabin in a Loft in Brooklyn" experience. For us, it's kind of a home away from home. And we wouldn't forget, the cat Boo was a great companion that added more points to our unique Xmas New York trip.
Thank you, Terri & Adam. Happy New Year!!
We have stayed at Cabin in a Loft on three separate occasions, and each time, Terri and Adam had added new touches that made the space more welcoming and engaging. Terri and Adam are always a pleasure, treating us like friends visiting in their home. Highly recommended!
It was great to stay with Terri and Adam, we stayed for 8 days and were out a lot. It was really nice to come back to the cabin, the nice bed and Elvis as background music :). When we had questions or thinks we wanted to know Terri & Adam were always helpfull. Great hosts!! We felt at home and at ease!
Terri and Adam's cabin is cool, cute and cozy, just like the rest of their place, and staying there has been a really great addition to my overall New York experience. Located about 50 steps from the L-train with 10-15 minutes to Manhattan, and in one of New York's coolest neighborhoods I think I couldn't have found a better accommodation! Terri and Adam are two warm, interesting and really nice people who made me feel welcome and at home very fast. I have already recommended their place to several friends.
It was an absolute pleasure to stay with Terri and Adam (and Boo!). They are welcoming and generous hosts, willing to share heaps of helpful advice and ideas for your stay in NYC. They are very approachable, and I felt comfortable asking questions about my stay or just having a chat at the end of the day. The loft is beautiful, clean and comfortable, and conveniently located right next to the metro station (literally 10 seconds' walk from the entrance!). Highly recommended!
Terri and Adam were great! I was in town for business and was barely around, but they were super accommodating and understanding. Their loft (and cabin!) are very nice places to stay in — and SUPER convenient to the subway! (Also, the view from the roof really was amazing. And their cat Boo is a sweetie.) I'm very much looking forward to staying with them again!
Staying with Terri + Adam was an experience that I will never forget! Not only were they accommodating and willing to help me by any means necessary they also cooked me the best at-home breakfast I had ever eaten on the first day I arrived! It was thoughtful and well-appreciated considering I had just flown in and had to head out to a conference within a few hours. (Oh, and did I mention that the butter was handcrafted by God himself?). Boo was also just as sweet and warm and greeted me with open arms – well, in the best way cute kittens can greet a person with open arm. I was looking forward to seeing more of him after our instant connection – except I never saw him again after the first day. Ha! Terri + Adam’s place was clean and spacious and my area of the loft was extremely private which made me feel more than comfortable. I’m thankful to them for their hospitality and professionalism. I would have never asked for a better host!! Thanks so much guys!
Terri and Adam (and BOO!!) were beautiful hosts. It was lovely to arrive home in the afternoon, or to wake up in the morning to two very positive and creative individuals who fill the loft with good energy. These guys pointed me in the right direction for good local food, and we had some nice chats about creative projects and events around town. Terri and Adam's work-live ethic is inspiring for any artist. Thanks dudes.
