About this listing
We live in a beautiful and big house, 5 blocks away from Playa Ramírez and Parque Rodó. We share our house from people from abroad, we love cultural exchange, biking and enjoying our "rambla".
We are an easygoing and cool couple :)
The room is very cozy and confortable and has a PRIVATE BATHROOM ENSUITE. Natural light comes through the window where you can see our patio, full of plants. The house is very well located, quiet and cool so it's perfect for a living in our city !
The kitchen is fully equipped and it´s the heart of our house, the main meeting point where we often share everyday life. We also have household appliances if needed (iron, vacum cleaner,...).
Our livingroom is very spacious and confortable, as well as the backyard is. We love gardening, the backyard is full of plants and a place to grow our own vegetables. In the backyard, we also have a barbecue where we cook the best asados in town ;)
My workshop is at home so I spend most of the day around, Mauro comes back from work and likes drinking some "Mate" while resting and chating a bit. We're both very sociable and easygoing :) Anyway, if our hosts prefer to live an "intimate" stay at home it´s wonderful for us as well, we like people to feel confortable at home.
Our neighbourhood is very well located, nearby the beach, the park and downtown aswell. We can walk or bike anywhere but if feel like to we can get a bus or taxi at the corner of our house, so, everything is possible :) We enjoy the street market 2 blocks away from home on wednesdays and fridays and we enjoy the pubs nearby aswell. The park has a lake with boats we can rent and tennis courts aswell, oh! and I can't forget telling you that in january our beach has Kayak and Volleyball activities for free :) It's a very enjoyable place, different activities around !!!
Bus stops and taxis' are less than 1 block away from home. Anyway, Montevideo is a city you can walk or bike around if you like, it's secure and traffic isn't mad at all.
The price includes the wages for WIFI, electricity, warm water and cleaning once a week. The normal wages for a houseliving.
Some formalities for a friendly living together.
Since people from different cultures have different habits, we always need to communicate our hosts some "formalities" related to the way of living in our house, so below you will find some points related to our house's habits (like tuesday's cleaning day for Mrs.Marta), and to responsabilities&security in our house :
Our house's habits
Cleaning days for "MrsMarta" are Tuesday morning's, she is the lady who helps us doing the cleaning of the common areas. She cleans bathrooms, kitchens and some other areas in the house, we organise her work and supervise it. We relay on Mrs.Marta very much in all matters, but keeping our valuable belongings organised is a good way of avoiding any possible misunderstanding.
In case you need any cleaning supplies, you'll find vacumcleaner, broom, bucket, cloths, iron and cleaning products aswell. If you're not very experimented in ironing, you need to know that the iron is not to be left on horizontal position for cooling or pause, if it is, it will burn the surface you leave it on, vertical position is correct.
We separate our garbage in two different bukets, one is full of any kind of food leftovers and the other one with all the rest. Everyday we need to take the garbage to the containers that are located at the corner of our house.
Common areas in the house are to be used by us in nice conditions, so, after using them please leave the room ready for any other person to use it. It's important that we can all enjoy the house we're living in, it's not a party house, it's quiet & nonsmoking inside thank you.
Our way of living may be very different from yours of course, and that's the best part of sharing our house, we get to know many different people and learn a lot about other cultures. We share our way of living and hope you'll get used to it during your stay, but, in case you believe you need something special to feel more confotable at our home, before buying anything please, don't forget asking us if it's ok to bring it into our house.
We share our house with singles and couples but we don't host companions. Meeting somebody special and feeling passionate is wonderful and normal for our culture, love is in the air and we enjoy it very much, but the place to spend the night at is not our home, a nice hotel is a good place to go to, in case you need any advice we can recommend some places to you.
Responsabilities & Security
Since we're living in a quite crowded street, it's Ok that during the day curtains in the house remain rolled up, from outside it will look like we're at home. During the night although, we roll down all the curtains and close the windows of course (during springtime and summer aswell) and before leaving the house, we make sure the heater is turned off aswell as the kitchen's burners&stove.
Respect among us and very good communication in any matter are important. In case something is broken or spoiled, we expect and appreciate that you inform us about it so we can tell you which is the most convenient way to fix the damage.
Please let us know your feelings about these points answering this mail with your comments, and don't hesitate asking about it, our English is good enough but not as good as our Spanish skills are, so there's always room for improving.
Welcome home :)
Me encanta toda de la casa. Tanto espacio y linda decor y todo. Tamara y Mauro son divinos. Buen barrio y calle igual.
Good experience in Tamara's house. I was fine. I recommend. The house is not far from the center and there are numerous bus routes nearby. The Tres Cruces station is not far away. Ideal for visiting Montevideo.
Buena experiencia en la casa de Tamara. Me fue bien. Recomiendo.
The house was really nice. Its location is good, it is near to a beach and to the city center. And Tamara is very helpful. I strongly recommend this place.
