The space
PLEASE ASK FIRST IF YOU WANT TO BRING YOUR PET : CASE BY CASE BASIS Our interior is one of a kind as we are both work in the arts. Aleks is a bit of a careful collector. Mix of vintage charm, modern decor, and local art. Our place is a tastefully eclectic collection of mid-century, Polish folk items, Peruvian textiles, complete with space age touches, etc.. Carefully selected coffee table books to enjoy, natural hand soap.. we try! It is fully outfitted to easily cook, do laundry, hang out in the hammock, etc... Rehabbed original thick plaster walls and solid wood doors provide privacy. No one walking above you. Should you need anything special for your stay (vitamix, Cake stand, garment steamer, ice cream maker, etc) just ask- if it's not there now we can leave it for you if you promise to take care of it :)
Guest access
You'll have the whole place to yourself. 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen. Shared laundry room in basement, and shared yard with downstairs tenants. (tenants rarely spend time in the yard). Garage is TBD. May become available by the time of your stay. Currently we prefer not to share it.
Other things to note
If you need any special gadgets please request, we can try to have them for you. (waffle iron, wardrobe steamer, ice cream maker, vitamix, giant soup pot, etc..). Many extras will be on hand. We recently stayed at an airbnd and were bummed to have to buy basic kitchen utensils, sponge, etc..promise not to do that to you... You'll save money making some meals with a large grocery store steps away.
Dvd player with a small handful of carefully curated films on hand. Netflix. HBO go. No cable. Fast internet.
This place is clean and loved. It's not set up quickly to airbnb, it's been our home for 8 years. Please remove shoes (dog poop, oil spots are gross). Please respect this rule. Pack your slippers. Be respectful of downstairs tenants. Bathroom is gorgeous and you'll love taking a bath-- we haven't gotten around to rehabbing the kitchen but it's cute and vintage and clean. new small dishwasher and new stove. Downstairs tenants have a tough-guy chihuaha. You won't physically encounter him but he's yappy when people come up to the house. House is not child proof, but ok for a baby that is not yet pulling up. Pets may be ok if they NEVER have accidents or mark territory, and under certain other conditions-- please ask BEFORE booking. Prefer dogs over cats. Parking is usually available out front until the late evening. If you return late or sundays, or if it's a street cleaning day, you may have to drive around a little, but parking is WAY easier where we live than on the east side of Logan Square. Check for orange street cleaning signs, and permit parking on certain streets. Neighborhood is safe and we haven't had a single incident since we've lived here (8 years) --but it's common sense not to leave your car loaded or with visible valuables in any city in the US. Will update if I think of anything else to note.

Neighborhood highlights
Lula is a 15-20 minute walk, in our opinion the best restaurant in Chicago. Wyler Road is two blocks away and a well kept secret gem of Logan Square, craft cocktails, interesting beer selection, and yummy food! Burlington is a small music venue with some of the best up and coming music and the price is right. Weegees bar has a great outdoor patio. Levee is a nice bar that's never crowded if you want to have a conversation. Park and Field is a relatively new and bustling bar /restaurant with a huge outdoor patio great for larger groups. It's a vintage-sports-themed space with Bocce ball courts, chef prepared meals, craft beers and cocktails-- chef pre-pared eats. A good brunch option a bit closer than Lula. Tony's supermarket is just over a block away. They carry a good amount of organic produce and products. One block away is one of the best Taco spots in Chicago, nationally rated--L'Patron (It's cash only!). Ask for the homemade tortillas that they press right in front of you (extra 75 cents but worth it).
Palmer Square park is great for little ones or a morning jog and we're near the 606 Trail that connects 4 Chicago neighborhoods. There will be one unisex bike on hand that you can use (please request it so that it's here for you). If you like walking, we often walk all the way to Wicker Park on the trail and it goes surprising quickly despite the actual distance.
