The unit is on the ground floor of our home, is self contained, separate entrance, keys and parking, a full kitchen and living area, also washer and dryer. Yard and stream is off limits.
Interaction with Guests
We live on the second and third floor of our home and will be available to you as you wish.
Nuuanu is so lush and beautiful and one of the earliest established neighborhoods in Honolulu. The English translation for Nuuanu is "cool heights". Famous residents of long ago were Hawaii kings, queens and many members of the professional community ( doctors, attorneys, members of the Hawaii provincial government) Lots of history!
There are hiking trails further up the road from our house which adds to its charm and uniqueness. Neighborhood is friendly and safe.
One parking space is included at no additional cost conveniently located in front of the unit.
Hawaii has one of the best bus systems in the U.S. There is a bus stop about 100 feet from our main driveway.
We are located in a quiet neighborhood. Please keep this in mind during your stay.
This is a no smoking facility.
There is parking for only one car. No mopeds or motorcycles please. If you have a guest, please let us know in advance so we maybe accommodate you.
The unit sleeps 3 comfortably- one queen size bed and a pull out futon. We may be able to accommodate 4 guests. Please lets discuss in advance to your booking.
Internet is free, no password required.
There is no maid service. A full washer and dryer is provided if you need to wash towels or personal items.
Trash days are Monday and Thursday. Please leave your trash out by 7:00 those mornings.
Graham is an amazing host and very knowledgeable. The apartment is very spacious and well lit. This place is centrally located and close to everything. We had an amazing stay during our vacation. The fully equipped kitchen was a big plus. We have already recommended this place to our friends and family. Truly a home away from home. Thank you for a wonderful experience. A+
Great spacious place, the fully equipped kitchen was a huge plus.
comfy bed, nice bathroom. Way better than staying at a hotel
I would defenitly recommend this place location was close to the freeway minutes away from downtown and the beaches
We loved the house as we are not tourists who want to stay on a busy crowded street. We ran every morning down the nu'uanu Pali road which was paradise and this house is located close to the HURT 100 race course which is a bonus if you are racing and close to run those beauty trails.
Great space, lots of room and fun to play shuffleboard. Would stay here again, check out down the road an abandoned summer palace of King K I very neat.
We stayed with two kids 12 & 13 and they were generous enough to provide an inflatable mattress!
Quiet place and it is a rainforest so lush and moist!
The location of this rainforest rental was perfect for getting to beautiful Kailua Beach in 15 minutes for our daily morning run. And yes, the unit is in a lush, tropical, verdant, and very quiet neighborhood just minutes from downtown Honolulu as well. Couldn't ask for a better location. The place is spacious and well laid out. Both Graham & Connie were very hospitable, and were quick to respond to some minor inconveniences, and I was able to use their Cuisinart on request. Which brings me to the kitchen--the gas stove is wonderful, fridge is more than we needed, but the cooking experience would have been greatly enhanced by having some basic supplies like aluminum foil, ketchup, mustard, mayo, basic spices. The living room furniture and the bed are comfortable, the bed & bath linens are of good quality. Lots of hot water, good water pressure. Lots of closet and storage space. My husband's wifi connection was strong, but mine was iffy, I don't know why. In the winter one can imagine it may be damp in the rainforest on cool days, and it was indeed damp. I must also add that while we were staying there, the islands were experiencing unprecedented cool weather. We didn't have a problem staying warm, though. The fleece blanket kept us cozy overnight. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was really great. We would return again. Mahalo, Graham & Connie
Graham's place is very nice and is conveniently located. Almost anything you need for a relaxing and a great time in Oahu is provided. We had a great stay there!
As a Hotel GM ( and returning Hawaii native) I have the opportunity to receive very special room rates from most hotels however I select Air BNB because of the value and benefits available at most of these rentals.
I was greeted upon arrival by our gracious host Connie and she was completely informative.
We throroughly enjoyed our stay at this location and everything was completely as described - if not, better than expected.
The unit was clean, comfortable, modern and beautifully situated in a tropical rainforest overlooking a stream.
I am an enterprising Kiwi who sailed from New Zealand to Hawaii over 30 years ago and never left (still have the accent!) As luck would have it I married a local girl and now I am here for good.
I've traveled to most continents with the exception of Africa and Asia and sailed a large portion of the South Pacific since my youth. My wife and I usually travel on the no plan plan, with no particular schedule in mind, enjoying getting lost and finding new places. You'll find we are both very easy going , low key and full of "local" knowledge. I myself do enjoy a good conversation and meeting new people.
Hawaii's geography is quite diverse, so while you're here check it out. Of course if you are an ocean going person, Hawaii is the perfect destination spot for you. Our beaches are clean and beautiful with free access to all. Hawaii mountains, rain forests and trails are majestic, take your breath away. (p.s. Hawaii 5-0 and other movies etc are filmed in our neighborhood)
Our home is centrally located in a rain forest in the Nuuanu area of Honolulu. Its a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki yet still close enough to venture out.
