E Komo Mai
This is a great spot to make your home base while on Oahu. Only 15 minutes from HNL airport, Waikiki, Kailua and Lanikai beaches and Ala Moana shopping center. Historic Nuuanu Pali lookout is but a mile away. For the hipsters, downtown Honolulu's up and coming Chinatown art galleries, pubs, bars and restaurants are right down the road.
The unit is on the ground floor of our home, is self contained, separate entrance, keys and parking, a full kitchen and living area, also washer and dryer. Yard and stream is off limits.
Interaction with Guests
We live on the second and third floor of our home and will be available to you as you wish.
Nuuanu is so lush and beautiful and one of the earliest established neighborhoods in Honolulu. The English translation for Nuuanu is "cool heights". Famous residents of long ago were Hawaii kings, queens and many members of the professional community ( doctors, attorneys, members of the Hawaii provincial government) Lots of history!
There are hiking trails further up the road from our house which adds to its charm and uniqueness. Neighborhood is friendly and safe.
One parking space is included at no additional cost conveniently located in front of the unit.
Hawaii has one of the best bus systems in the U.S. There is a bus stop about 100 feet from our main driveway.
We are located in a quiet neighborhood. Please keep this in mind during your stay.
This is a no smoking facility.
There is parking for only one car. No mopeds or motorcycles please. If you have a guest, please let us know in advance so we maybe accommodate you.
The unit sleeps 3 comfortably- one queen size bed and a pull out futon. We may be able to accommodate 4 guests. Please lets discuss in advance to your booking.
Internet is free, no password required.
There is no maid service. A full washer and dryer is provided if you need to wash towels or personal items.
Trash days are Monday and Thursday. Please leave your trash out by 7:00 those mornings.
Great location, super close to the city and all attractions around the south part of the island.
Very spacious for 2 people, kitchen was great for making meals. Watching movies or TV in the living room was a very comfortable way to end the day.
Only 2 things to be aware are:
1. Because it's literally in the jungle it can be really humide in the suite so make sure to keep the fans on.
2. The Wifi is pretty much non - existent unless you're in the bedroom. So if you're planning on needing Internet keep that in mind. We tried using a wifi extender but couldn't get a strong enough signal to hook it up.
Graham and his wife were great hosts. They came and meet us at 10pm when we arrived and walked us through everything. He was always available if we had any questions or concerns.
I would highly recommend staying in this suite. When we come back to Oahu we will most likely try and stay there again.
This is a lovely, comfortable and well-equipped home. We came here for our wedding and found a well stocked kitchen (we even borrowed a kitchenaid from Graham to do some baking), very spacious living area and all the facilities we needed.
The photos are accurate!
For some reason we could only get access to the wifi from the bedroom (and even then it was quite slow), but apparently others have had no problems, so not sure what to say about that.
It was about a 25 minute drive to Waikiki, 15 minutes to the airport (with light traffic for both). Very convenient for driving up the east coast, being a little way out of Honolulu.
We had a great time here. It really is in the rainforest, it rained 3 of the 4 nights we were there. We had a cool night's sleep, but when you head down the Pali Highway the sky clears for sunny sightseeing. Spacious, great kitchen, a great getaway from the island crowds. Graham introduced us to the house details and gave us the inside scoop on places we were planning to visit.
Graham's place was absolutely perfect for my stay. Great size, great location, and most importantly a great host. Graham took the time to show how everything worked but then provided space so the place felt like my own. I would highly recommend Graham's place.
Great host. Awesome place. Much bigger than I expected.
I was in the islands for work, so the location outside of Waikiki was perfect for (website hidden)'uanu Valley is beautiful.
My wife and daughter tagged along, and the place turned out to be a perfect fit for our little trip.
Graham has an absolutely spectacular location for a relaxing stay in Oahu. He made my girlfriend and I very comfortable during our week long stay by introducing himself, showing us around the house, and respected our privacy while offering assistance if needed. I would recommend Graham's location to anybody- I already have several friends and family members raving about our pictures wanting to stay. It is as good as it seems in the pictures! Lots of space, stove tops, washer/dryer, you name it! Shuffle Board table was excellent as well. Graham will make you feel at home, 10/10 experience.
Graham is an amazing host and very knowledgeable. The apartment is very spacious and well lit. This place is centrally located and close to everything. We had an amazing stay during our vacation. The fully equipped kitchen was a big plus. We have already recommended this place to our friends and family. Truly a home away from home. Thank you for a wonderful experience. A+
I am an enterprising Kiwi who sailed from New Zealand to Hawaii over 30 years ago and never left (still have the accent!) As luck would have it I married a local girl and now I am here for good.
I've traveled to most continents with the exception of Africa and Asia and sailed a large portion of the South Pacific since my youth. My wife and I usually travel on the no plan plan, with no particular schedule in mind, enjoying getting lost and finding new places. You'll find we are both very easy going , low key and full of "local" knowledge. I myself do enjoy a good conversation and meeting new people.
Hawaii's geography is quite diverse, so while you're here check it out. Of course if you are an ocean going person, Hawaii is the perfect destination spot for you. Our beaches are clean and beautiful with free access to all. Hawaii mountains, rain forests and trails are majestic, take your breath away. (p.s. Hawaii 5-0 and other movies etc are filmed in our neighborhood)
Our home is centrally located in a rain forest in the Nuuanu area of Honolulu. Its a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki yet still close enough to venture out.
