We offer a truly unique experience. We are a different type of bed and breakfast. Whether you are in the main house, pool house or RV everyone has breakfast together, family style. I talk more about that after I explain all the sleep arrangements available. Also keep in mind that most people enjoy cooking either on the Ducane grill or in the main kitchen that has every possible spice you can image. I am going to explain the whole house to you, so you understand this incredible ranch. First there is the main house. In the main house there are 2 bedrooms that are available, The Everglades Room and The Sunflower Room, both with full beds, and a shared bathroom. Then there is a pool house right behind the main house separated by the pool, of course. The pool house is a complete home. It has 2 bedrooms, both with queen beds, a full size comfy futon, a small kitchen, a bathroom and an open area, with all sliders open to the pool. Behind the pool house is Vintage Row. We have 4 Vintage aircraft inspired trailers. The trailers date from (phone number hidden). Let’s go through them 1 at a time. Keep in mind that these are Vintage meaning that there are lots of original parts some over 50 years old. 1. 1969 Airstream International. This mini home has an Italian Designer Futon that turns into a full bed, 2 twin beds, a bathroom, and an outside shower. 2. 1955 Airstream. This one is very unique, has a custom made King-ish size bed that takes up all the back of the trailer, front toilet, custom full-ish bed, and an outdoor shower. 3. 1970 Avion, offers, full kitchen, 2 twin beds and front dining table that turns into a queen-ish bed, and full bathroom. 4. 1977 this too is a complete unit, full Kitchen, 2 Twins and complete bath. Look at the pictures to understand the layout. We served an incredible breakfast, mostly from our own garden. Farm Fresh Organic Eggs, Papaya, Star fruit, Bananas, Mango, Pineapples, Coconut, Avocado, Tomato’s, Dragon Fruit, Peach, Leeches, Passion Fruit, Jack Fruit and Loquat. That is not complete, but it is seasonal, if it is in season you will be served it by the resident private executive Chef Glen. We are trying to living “off the land”. We raise chicken and rabbits also. You get to explore all the plants. A game of Horseshoes or Croquet is a welcoming challenge. On colder evening a bonfire is a great addition to the peacefulness of our surroundings. We live in paradise and would love to share with you and your family. We would like to welcome you to the good life. To see the different listing look under our picture there is a “my other listings” to see the other areas. We can host 20 people with the different accommodations. Our bedrooms sleep 2.
We are located close to the Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park, Schnebly Redland's Winery & Brewery, Coral Castle, Fruit & Spice Park, RF Orchids and we are only 24 miles from Key Largo.
Redland, sometimes pluralized The Redlands, is an agricultural community in metropolitan Miami, Florida, United States, about 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Downtown Miami. Many farms, original clapboard homes of early settlers, u-pick'em fields and coral rock walls dot the landscape. It is named for the red clay that dominates the area, on top of a massive layer of oolite rock. The entire area is nourished with pure water from the Biscayne Aquifer.
Redland originated in anticipation of Henry Flagler's railroad when pioneer homesteaders in the early 1900s developed a way of working the difficult soil, called scarifying or plow-breaking. This revolutionary method of agriculture allowed the land there to develop into the "winter greenery basket of America" and the "garden capital of the world". The center of town was located near Redland Road and Bauer Drive.
Really wish we had more time on our vacation, because I would had chose to stay with Natalie on the property, longer. Great location, that, personally I'd like to explore more -- this agricultural haven. Dog was very cool, and the airstream was a nice experience.
Even though we were late for breakfast, we were still made some food and fruits. Very accommodating.
Natalie and Glenn were such warm, welcoming and fun hosts! We had a group of 5 and staying in the airstream trailers gave us just the right balance of kitschy, chill, and fun. The food was fantastic, the Natalie and Glenn are overly generous, the other guests were great to talk to over a fire pit, and we all wished we could bring back Brewster, the rescue pup that loves attention. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience South Florida in a non-traditional way.
We had a great stay in the 1969 Airstream. Love the funky vintage feel and would like to go back and try out one of the other Airstreams if we return to Florida some day... In terms of accommodations, they are smaller and simpler than a hotel room but a few steps above camping. We had all the windows open, and in February there was a cool breeze sweeping through all night, almost as if we were sleeping out in the open. I'm usually a light sleeper, but slept very well both nights.
Natalie and Glenn are warm, generous hosts and helped make our stay relaxed and easy. We enjoyed the camaradarie during our abundant breakfast as well as the pool and trampoline. I would definitely recommend for folks looking for a laid-back, fun and different experience.
Location was good. Maybe 15 minutes drive from the Ernest Coe (Everglades NP) visitor center, as well as fruit stands, Airboat rides, and local restaurants. Thanks for a great stay.
Natalie was out there waiting for us....yes we were having too much fun in the Keys. She was very welcoming and such a sweet, bubbly personality. We stayed in the 1969 Airstream. We actually slept on the twin beds rather than the fold out futon. It looked like it would have been very comfortable too. Nice to have our own bathroom . The shower is shared which is fine with us...we are good with all of this as we easy going folks.
Breakfast was such a treat. Fresh fruit galore...keep those pipes running well along with pancakes, waffles, toast....and on. (website hidden)n go! Oh and , coffee, juices, milk etc.
We loved the enthusiasm Natalie and Glen have for their amazing property and vision.
Throughly enjoyed other guests from Boston, New Jersey, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands.
Location wise it was easy for us to adventure out each day and explore. Everglades, Key Largo...etc.
So all and all we had a great time at Natalie's and Glen's place.
Natalie was very sweet and helpful and so was her husband, Glenn. We had reserved a 1969 Airstream, but we were given a different caravan when we arrived. Once Natalie realized how upset I was, she did her best to right the error. The breakfasts were sensational and the company was wonderful. The hot tub was just what my husband and I needed.
Indeed it was!
And yes fresh fruit was delicious! Tomatoes right from the field across the street. And bananas off their trees and eggs from their chickens. And pineapple was the best! 85% of this experience is from our hosts! Welcoming (email hidden) with a Bon fire and s'mores and visiting with other guests from around the world. And this includes a really fun tasty breakfast! This is not for some that needs details to be new & pretty or a cloud comfort bed but it was stars above a hotel experience for us. I can see its not for everyone but my kids want to go back!
I write this with a heavy heart. I SO wanted this to be the charming little trailer it appears to be in the photos with a big clean pool and personable hosts . . . However, not only was the cleanliness very sub-par and clutter abundant, there were safety concerns. The trailer had very sketchy electrical components: an outlet hanging out of the wall, a light repaired with duct tape, exposed wiring in a closet, missing light fixtures and a fire alarm that doesn't work.
Natalie really did seem nice, but we heard the male host yelling at her twice, and I'm pretty sure he was drunk. This combined with the electrical safety concerns caused my husband and I to leave after one night if what was supposed to be a three night stay.
Notably, there was also no lock on the trailer and a homemade door handle which was difficult to use.
Wow I honestly have no idea what to write. If you read all the other review you will see what type of people we are, you will know that these above statements are so not true. Well some are but blown out of proportion, Glen did yell at me twice, I was in the everglades room and he was in the pantry looking for the cream pillow cases, and he could not find them (even though they were exactly where I said they would be). We have a last minute reservation so we were scrambling. As for drunk read all the other reviews. Listen if someone has real concerns talk to us. Don't run out without saying anything. We prepare breakfast for you. Common courtesy goes a long way in my book.
It was a shame we could only stay one night. Glen cooks a mean breakfast. Natalie and Glen were great hosts and it was fascinating to see what Glen was doing with the Vintage trailers. Would love to go back.
A remarkable place to stay! The trailer was quite comfortable (after we got the heat figured out - heat is not something one expects to need in south Florida!). Natalie keeps an open house and we wandered in and out of her dining room and kitchen, doing laundry, eating, visiting with the family and other guests - very comfortable. Breakfasts were amazing for the variety of fruits, mostly grown by Natalie, along with pancakes, banana French toast, and good coffee.
I noticed another reviewer mentioned a "messy kitchen". That was no doubt due to the hostess's generosity in allowing access to her house even while she is using it. One expects the kitchen to be a mess after breakfast for 8 or 10 people, or after Natalie has returned from catering an event for 90. Everything is restored to neatness with great efficiency after use.
Natalie helped us figure out how to get to our chosen tourist spots, and told us about the area, and facilitated conversation among the guests. Her place was a pleasant place in itself, not just a place to sleep in between other activities.
Best Airbnb experience! Airstream are really original and comfortable.
The place is a real piece of paradize, the tropical garden, the pool and the jacuzzi really makes you feel relax! Natalie and Glen are so nice. Always avaiblable in case you need anything. They prepare the best breakfast you could imagine: fresh exotic fruits, pan cakes, eggs, everything you like! I strongly recommand this place. I hope we see you again very soon guys!
