What a wonderful place to spend the week in Quito. Alejandro and his family were great host who went out of their way especially during renovations to the building. I would recommend this place. Thank you again for a great week.

This was a very social and welcoming hostel that is only a few blocks away from old town. Alejandro's family was very welcoming and accommodating, they also offered to pick us up at the airport as well as breakfast early in the morning. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something a little quieter but still walking distance to interesting places.

Staying in Blue Door during my trip to Quito was the best decision I've made. Alejandro and his family were sweet, kind and always willing to help. They answered all my questions about where to go and what to do at anytime during the day. My friend and I also did tours with Blue Door and it was so much fun! I definitely look forward to staying with Blue Door again during my travels in Ecuador.

While you may see my review below for my group, I forgot to mention that I also made reservations for a second group that met up at different points with my group throughout our time in Ecuador. So, I made multiple reservations for 9 people in total on different days, and the second group also had nothing but good things to say and also took advantage of the tour set up by Alejandro. So, all in all, 9 different people with only good things to say about Alejandro, his home, the location of his home, the way he organized group tours, the taxi drivers he chooses, his family, and all of the suggestions he had to offer.

Alejandro's family, home and friends were great to our group of five! Rooms were spacious and clean. The kitchen is a shared space so everyone shared everything. Special thanks to Farzi for sharing his delicious spicy rice and making guacamole on the spot to help us deal with the spiciness. We arrived a bit late in the night, but Alejandro and his father helped us arrange a tour of the Mitad del Mundo for the next day, took our laundry for laundry service, answered our MILLION questions, assisted us with a luggage problem we were having, his parents served a delicious breakfast the next morning. While I believe this is all Alejandro's business, it runs like a well-oiled family business. His mother also helped us arrange taxis. I separated from my group to spend the day shopping and his brother Oliver helped me arrange a taxi to the airport separate from my group. I mean - there just aren't enough good things to say. They helped with EVERYTHING. And were reachable at ALL TIMES. And had suggestions and tips for everything - please just stay here. You will not regret it!

Hi everyone!

My name is Alejandro. I’m from the US, for the past 15 years my Ecuadorian family and I have been living in Quito-Ecuador. We had the opportunity to travel to many countries and realized that is nice to find a place to stay with all the amenities necessary for a reasonable price. A few years back, many of my friends form the US, Colombia, and Russia had the pleasure to stay in our apartments and from that point on we started to have more visits throughout the year. This is way my family and I have began to take this opportunity, and start this project of offering our apartments with daily and monthly rates for your next time you visit Quito!
