Our stay at Hilaire Suite was everything we expected. Our host accommodated to meet us at our arrival even though it was late in the day. Great location close enough to everything but far enough away to get a bit of peace and quiet at the end of the day. You can catch the bus or taxi at the corner of the street. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a home away from home in New Orleans.
We stayed at the Villere suite as two couples and the place was exactly as advertised. The location was perfect for us as we did not want to stay in the Quarter or by Frenchman, but we were a perfect 15 minute walk to either part of town for great food and drinks. Home was clean and the bedrooms were great. Soundsystem was awesome to have when we were home to play some blues, jazz and old school soul.
The apartment was perfect for us, a family of 5 (all adults). The 2 beds upstairs were big and having 3 bathrooms (2 showers) when we're all getting ready at once was a plus! The apartment was clean, had everything we needed and only a 10 minute (or less) walk to the French Quarter. Gwen was very accommodating and let us drop off our bags before/after the check-in time, and her son was very helpful with recommendations of restaurants when he let us in. I would definitely recommend this place!
We found the apartment roomy and comfortable for four people. We felt secure, with the gate around the property. The kitchen was easy use and allowed for simple meals.
The area is interesting, and in development. Beautiful architecture. The Museum of African-American Art, half a block away, will be interesting to visit.
The walk down Esplanade to the French Quarter was a pleasant 15 minutes at a nice pace.
Emmet Charles, the owner's son, a young man in his 20s it looked like met us and quickly made us aware of everything we needed and was available by cell phone throughout the 5 days we stayed. The apartment was quiet, clean, comfortable, all amenities worked perfectly. The location was perfect.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The space was comfortable and the perfect size. The neighborhood was find during the day, but we were advised by locals not to walk around at night. Taxi's were convenient and inexpensive so this was not a problem. My only frustrations were only one set of keys (there were 5 of us and sometimes we had different schedules) and that you had to use the keys to unlock the gate from the inside.
