The Space

We are offering a charming, modern, newly-remodeled private apartment located on the lower level of our three-story, 100-year old Edwardian house. We are located in the safe, convenient, family-friendly Inner Richmond neighborhood.

This 550 sq ft apartment has beautiful natural light streaming in from the sliding glass doors facing the private back yard. The living room area has a newly-purchased comfortable couch, and a 46” flat-screen TV. TV is a smart TV, so you can log in to your Netflix account, YouTube, etc. TV also has cable, HBO, Showtime, and DVR recording capabilities.

Kitchen area is an open-spaced, bright, fully-equipped kitchen with new appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, and granite counter tops, a small dining area and table, and a desk / work space area.

The separate bedroom includes a queen size bed with night tables and a closet. Access to full bathroom from both the bedroom and living room. Two can sleep in the bedroom. One can sleep on the couch, or we also have an extra-high queen size air mattress, for two to sleep in the living room. Total occupancy is four people.

Linens and towels are provided. Free, shared laundry facilities are right outside your door. Free wifi and cable TV. The apartment has a separate entry through our garage, which provides you with privacy.

Enjoy your morning coffee outdoors or soak in the delightful mid-day sun on the patio, adjacent to our fenced-in, quiet yard.

Ping-pong table and dartboard are available in our garage.

Our family lives upstairs from the unit and we are always happy to answer questions about the neighborhood and SF, in general. Please note, you may occasionally hear some footsteps and "pitter patter" from our little ones scurrying about at times when we are home, but it is quite negligible and has never been a bother to any of our guests.

ABOUT US
We are a married couple, with two children. We have traveled the world and were particularly grateful for the generosity of many hosts who opened up their homes to us, often demonstrating their desire for us to love and enjoy their city and country. Our hopes, at that time, was that one day, we would own our own home, and meet and host visitors from all over.

2 years ago we moved from NYC to San Francisco. We bought our dream home in September, 2012. We enjoy playing host and welcoming visitors into our home and suggesting great places to visit while staying in the San Francisco area.

Guest Access

Guests will be in a completely private one-bedroom apartment. The entrance is through our garage.

Interaction with Guests

We have two kids and both have full time jobs, so we are very busy. But we always love meeting our guests and are happy to answer any questions you may have!

The Neighborhood

The Inner Richmond is one of the most popular, convenient neighborhoods in San Francisco:
- Three blocks from Golden Gate Park, specifically near The California Academy of Sciences, De Young Museum, Japanese Gardens, and Arboretum.
- Three blocks from Clement Street, including its fabulous restaurants (such as Burma Superstar, B Star, Troya, Giorgio’s Pizza, Toy Boat Dessert), many coffee shops, See’s Candies, bakeries, Green Apple Bookstore (regularly voted best used bookstore in SF), spas, and more
- The Inner Richmond is home to the “other” or “real” Chinatown (less touristy than downtown)
- Six blocks from USF's huge and beautiful Koret Health and Recreation Center, for all your exercise needs.
- Five blocks from the Presidio, where you can experience breath-taking views, hikes and golf
- Convenient grocery shopping, including Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Safeway, fresh fruit markets, and many Asian supermarkets.
- Great location for running and biking (multiple bike rental shops nearby; secure bike storage is available in our garage).

Getting around

Our location is easily accessible to public transportation:
- One express bus (1 block away) will take you downtown to the Ferry Building in approx 20 minutes, where you can enjoy gourmet restaurants and bountiful farmer's markets 3 times per week.
- Just 1 block walk in the other direction and another bus line will take you directly to all the shops of Union Square if you travel east, or to Ocean beach if you travel west.
- We have easy, direct bus access to popular neighborhoods, such as The Castro, Dolores Park, The Mission, The Sunset, The Fillmore, Japantown, The Haight, NOPA, Cole Valley, Hayes Valley, and of course, downtown.

  • My sister, our niece, and I stayed at David and Kim’s apartment in June and it was awesome. The on-line pictures are a good representation of the space. It is very modern, clean, and comfortable. It was great to be able to pick up a few groceries and eat breakfast in the apartment each morning before we began our day. The location was great (a few blocks from Golden Gate Park) as there are several bus lines nearby and we could easily get to locations to which we were headed. David and Kim have prepared an information packet with some recommendations as to places to eat and things to do. Although a good bit of our trip was pre-planned, we did follow a couple of their recommendations and had great meals – Burma Superstar and the huge World Famous Turkey sandwich from a local supermarket. I’ll keep their recommendations for the next time I go to San Francisco so I can incorporate some of them into my visit. Although we did not get to meet David and Kim, they checked in on us via phone to make sure all was going well and they were available by phone if we needed anything. We are glad we found David and Kim’s apartment and we would not hesitate to stay there again. We highly recommend this rental if you need a place to stay in San Francisco.

  • David and Kim were fabulous hosts! Their apartment is lovely and filled with great touches: a Keurig coffee maker, a welcoming bottle of wine, a really nice TV set up for those cold SF nights. The apt is also less than a ten minute walk to Golden Gate Park and to the great restaurants on Clement St. We would definitely stay again!

  • David & Kim are so friendly & welcoming, and their place is sparkling clean and well appointed. They were happy to share all kinds of great tips with us, and were always there if we had questions, but otherwise gave us the peace we needed after long days.

Their recent renovation created this separate apartment on the bottom floor of their charming 3 story house. It's an elegant and quiet sanctuary that's located so close to Golden Gate Park and the Presidio that there's absolutely no excuse to not stretch your legs. There are also great corner markets and cafes nearby, plus a place to rent a bike just around the corner.

Taking a Lyft or Uber downtown only takes about 15-20 minutes, and there are bus stops nearby as well.

We logged into our Netflix & Amazon Video accounts on their TV with no problem.

Overall, it's got to be one of the best places to stay when you're in town for work!

  • Kim and David were extremely kind and generous to our family when we stayed last week. Their place has been remodeled and is extremely nice! The bed had to be the most comfortable that I've slept in for a long time. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything that you could want to prepare meals, if you so choose. My boys loved the Smart TV which worked for me as I was able to get the great bed at night! We stayed there as my daughter who recently moved to SF happens to live just down the street and staying here made it extremely easy for my sons and I to spend time together. There are great places within walking distance for dining! The overall location is close to Golden Gate Park and various other locations that are tourist worthy. I would highly recommend staying here for many reasons. We will certainly stay there again in the future!

  • We could not have found a better place to stay in San Francisco! David and Kim are great hosts and they were always there to help and provided helpful tips on restaurants, directions and sights nearby. The appartement is very clean and very comfortable. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, but also several muni lines take you straight downtown. We would definitely stay in the appartement again!

  • Kim and David have created a beautiful and peaceful space in the heart of SF. They are attentive, thoughtful hosts and very easy to communicate with. We loved that they went above and beyond to make sure that our visit was perfect. It was wonderful to stay in such a lovely and centrally located retreat in an amazing city! We'd absolutely recommend this space to friends and family.

  • We had a wonderful time at David and Kim's house! It was beautifully furnished, had everything we could want, and the bed was so comfortable! Everything is newly renovated so it feels clean and bright. Truly a peaceful place to relax and unwind. Kim and David were great hosts, providing lots of local info on restaurants (Eats and The Sushi Bistro were particularly good), and things to do around the city. It was a pleasure to get to know them and their sweet kids for a few days! We would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks, David!

  • Thank you Kim and David for providing a most enjoyable space for our stay. It was great to meet you and your family, and your hospitality was truly appreciated. The location is excellent with very easy access to public transportation, Golden Gate Park and great little neighborhood spots for coffee, food or whatever. The space is very clean (just renovated) comfortable and well appointed with whatever we needed. I certainly will not hesitate to return next time I am visiting. Thanks so much. I highly recommend this location to other Airbnb travelers.

  • A friend and I traveled to San Francisco to visit some friends. I had a great time staying in this apartment. The apartment is exceptionally well-maintained and the location is prime. David and his wife were great hosts. They made sure that our stay was comfortable and provided anything we needed.

Staying here will give you a genuine San Francisco experience. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, with easily accessible bus lines connecting you to the BART, subway, and other bus lines in downtown. Plus, Golden Gate park is only minutes away!
