We are friendly and enjoy having guests and also need to pace ourselves so respect our flow as well. We live in the flow of the island and are available as we feel aligned to connect with guests.
I offer massage, facials and sound healing sessions, how does it get any better? We are happy to give directions and information about hiking, music and great restaurants. We also have a great guidebook printed out for your reference. Monday nights we often enjoy live music at Trees and you are welcome to join us if you are in the mood.
We want to make your journey on Kauai a special adventure and a home stay you will never forget!
Aloha! Isha and Araya!
We love our little neighborhood nestled in a quiet cul de sac, a piece of paradise in the suburban jungle. We are all very friendly and live in a peaceful, friendly neighborhood with 5 other houses on a private road. We are just a 5 min drive from downtown or a 20 min leisurely walk to beach or downtown Kapaa where there are many cafes, yoga and healthfood store.
There is convenient public transportation in town that goes mostly island wide, the bus is $2.00 for adults. We highly recommend a rental car if you want to enjoy the beauty of the island. Island cars is a used car rental company with reasonable rates starting at $25 per day. Island Rental car -
(phone number hidden) by the airport and they will pick you up if prearranged. If you are on foot a 20 min walk to town and if we are going downtown we are happy to drop you in town.
We have a 3 night minimum unless I have gaps please inquire.
We do ask that you observe some simple guidelines for your stay:
Shoes and Sandals - Please observe the Hawaiian custom of not wearing slippa’ (shoes or sandals) inside the house.
Neighbors - This is a relatively quiet neighborhood and we would like to do our part to continue that. It does get quiet earlier here so we ask that you please refrain from any loud tv or music after 9pm. We have ample vegetation for privacy but, sound travels well thru silence.
Smoking - We ask that you not smoke in the house and you can smoke outside away from house, I can show you the smoking area please put your cigarettes out in a proper container.
Kitchen and Food - As you will see there is life everywhere on Kaua'i and they can smell food for miles. Cleanliness leads too loneliness when it comes to smaller creatures. If food particles are left on the stove, utensils, sink or floor you will be sure to invite many small creatures in a short amount of time. Please wipe down counters and clean dishes as soon as possible. Also, package and protect all food products. Store them in the refrigerator for protection and freshness. Your host must take all recycled materials to the resource center so, please observe the different containers for trash and cans, bottles*At the end of your stay if you have left over perishables please store in fridge and your host will dispose of properly.
Coconut Trees -We have periodic trimming of our trees but, they grow quickly and drop coconuts and fronds often. We do not recommend placing your hammock, car or head under one of these trees for any length of time. That's a tip for any Hawaiian island.
Geckos - You will almost definitely hear a gecko if not get lucky enough to see one. Geckos are harmless small lizards that you may see inhabiting the corners of your walls or even maneuvering magically across the ceiling. They avoid humans, make soft "clicking" noises and try to rid the home of any unwanted mosquito or spider. If one happens to talk back to you please contact your host and we will have a talk with it!
We expect harmony, respect, communication, cleanliness and self responsibility. After the beach Please shake your beach towels outside lanai before hanging on lanai.
Bring a flashlight as our property is dark at night not much light. So in case you take a night walk or arrive after dark.
The laundry is available if you need it, first load free after that $4.00 for a wash and dry. Laundry hours 9:00am to 8:00pm. Quiet hours are 10pm to 8am.
What a great place if you like nature! Close enough to town and yet all surrounded by trees. Both the host and her place set the pace needed on Kauai. Great place to feel home on your own piece of land. Isha makes you feel welcome and can even show you around town if schedules permit. The Bamboo Room is very comfortable and private. I wish I could have had more time in Kauai, I would have stayed longer at the Bamboo Room.
Kauai is a beautiful place. It has a lot to offer in terms of the outdoors, more specifically water sports and hiking. Photos of the landscape do not do it justice.
Kapaa is a lovely town. There are a few really good coffee shops and many good places to eat. It is also centrally located on the island which can be convenient depending on your desires.
The bamboo room was ideal for me in the duration of my travels. Isha is a very nice lady who will point you in the right direction for whatever tickles your fancy. Her family was hospitable and easy going. We even went out for coffee together a couple of mornings during my stay.
Getting around Kauai is really easy. Renting a car is definitely the easiest way to go, but catching a bus or hitchhiking N or S from Kapaa is also very easy. If you are not renting a car, I would recommend renting a bike for the duration of your stay, as you can ride it to and from the bamboo room into Kapaa and either locking the bike up in Kapaa or bringing it with you for the day. The reason for this is that the room is about a 20min walk from town.
What a wonderful gift Isha is to the airbnb community as well as the Kauai island community. Her place is warm and inviting and helped ease my travel weary self. Isha offered not only a cozy and comfortable place to stay, she offered a relaxed and welcoming open heart, warm delicious healthy dinner and a shared bottle of wine. So happy to have connected with this beautiful soul. She is a gem!
This is a beautiful room in a lovely house. The pictures don't do it justice! There are lots of trees right outside the windows, so it's almost as if you're living in a treehouse. The room has everything you might need: a super-comfortable bed, a dresser, a desk, and a fan, though with the cool evening breezes the fan wasn't usually necessary. I loved the tasteful decorations and the eastern feel. It's a great size for a single traveler. The neighborhood is peaceful and removed from the main road, about a mile from downtown Kapa'a and the beach. It does get quite dark at night and there are no sidewalks between the house and town, so it's much easier to get around if you have a car. As in most of Kaua'i, you are likely to be greeted in the morning by the sounds of crowing roosters, so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper! This is a great place for someone who wants a taste of what it could be like to live on the island, as it is in a residential area and you may get to meet neighbors, kids, and pets.
I left just yesterday, and I already miss Isha and her family (dogs included!). The room is a real safe haven -- a light, relaxing, inspiring and private space. Isha has wonderfully welcoming and easy going energy. It was a perfect stay.
Isha, made a beautiful vacation even better. Welcoming and warm, I would highly recommend stay here and I hope to return someday
Oi! Isha is a wonderful host with a beautiful home! And family! I saw them in and out during my stay but any moment spent with them is warm with stories and useful information! Her home is wonderfully close to Kapaa, making sightseeing on the island easy for deciding whether to head north or south for the day! I would recommend to my friends and family to stay here! I thank Isha from the bottom of my heart for letting me into her home! For the hikers going to Kauai don't forget the bug spray! Mahalo!
