Stay at this open, bright, mid-century modern retreat-like condo. The penthouse level showcases your view of the east valley to Mt. Hood and north to St. Helens. Nestled amongst the trees for nearly complete privacy and tastefully designed for comfortable, luxurious living... a quick direct drive into Portland!

The space

Come stay at this open, contemporary, retreat-like condo (penthouse level) that showcases an awesome view of the east valley to Mt. Hood and north to St. Helens. It is nestled among the trees all around, for nearly complete, intimate privacy. Inside, you'll be in mid-century modern designed condo, highlighting the Charles & Ray Eames designed and inspired decor.

Outside, and all within walking distance, are a trendy pub and eatery, two coffee shops (yes, Starbucks), a bakery, market, and perhaps best of all, your condo is right across from an amazingly spacious park that is complete with nature trails, fields, and gorgeous river access. In another ten miles, you're in downtown Portland, and can be having a stroll on Waterfront Park, browsing the aisles at Powell's Books, exploring the trendy Pearl district, or sipping coffee at any of the five Stumptown Coffee locations. A simple, non-transfer bus-line (#35) gets you there as well if you don't have a car - with a stop right from the base of the condo.

The acclaimed OHSU (Oregon Health Sciences University) tram is a straight-shot away, a mere 8.5 miles, often doable in less than 20 minutes. For residents, employees, applicants, students, and tourists, the location of my condo can prove a convenient and price-friendly housing option.

You're only 1.5 miles from the freeway (I-205), a direct fifteen miles from the airport. You can take the freeway north to the Columbia River, where in under 30 minutes you can either go into Washington State or head east on the Oregon side on Hwy. 84 along the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. Explore hundreds of waterfalls, hikes, or other famous landmarks like Multnomah Falls and Beacon Rock. Upon booking a stay, guests will receive an online "guidebook" to specific places around West Linn and Portland that I am particularly fond of, complete with my own special recommendations!

When in the condo, you'll have a comfortable queen bed in the simple, elegant bedroom, that features new hardwood floors. There is drawer-space as well as now ample hanging-space (thanks to customer feedback!) available to unpack and feel more at home rather than living out of a suitcase. In the living room is a sofa that makes a great additional sleeping spot (not a pull-out), and I also have a queen-size aero-bed that can accommodate another one or two sleepers as well.

Overall, all rooms (including the bathroom, kitchen, den, and hallway) are clutter-free; the entire condo has a very clean, minimalist feel to it - easy for any guest to feel and make themselves at home, and less like they are entering into someone else's living space.

Parking for two vehicles is available on site for no additional cost. Please be aware that there are 23 steps leading up to the condo.

For entertainment, you're welcome to use the 48" HD cable television. There is WiFi, as you'll be able to log on my secure guest network. You can also have access to Apple TV, a wireless streaming movie and TV show service. Therefore, if you have an iTunes and/or Netflix account, you can log in and be able to stream shows and movies as you wish. If you wish to use this service, please talk with me about it before your stay.

Out the sliding glass doors is a covered balcony that looks out to Mt. Hood and the eastern part of Oregon. It's a great little spot where you can sit with a glass of wine in the evening, a cup of coffee in the morning, or even fire up the Traeger barbecue in any season. Even if it's chilly or rainy, curl up with a blanket and sip your day away while you watch the hummingbirds flitter nearby.

The clean, white-tiled kitchen is ready for full-use with plenty of refrigerator space available. Guests will be treated to some fresh coffee to brew, and a few goodies to welcome you in.

I believe you'll find me a great host - working with you before, during, and after, to make sure your stay is all you could want. I have had opportunities to travel my entire life so I can appreciate a living space that is comfortable, clean, and allows anyone to easily make their home away.

-No washing, vacuuming, or other detailed cleaning needs to be done, as this is covered in the cleaning fee. However, general neatness of the entire condo should be in place before checking out. This includes...

Place bed sheets placed in the washer
Place all used towels placed in the hamper basket
Place all used dishes placed in the dishwasher
Place all trash (bins are in the den, kitchen, & bathroom) should be removed, and placed in the outside dumpster

-Respect for the neighbors should be given at all times. While this is a private condo, it is not a stand-alone building. Therefore, yelling is not tolerated, nor is music that's played at an excessive volume. In general, simple common sense and good community awareness should be considered.

-For the protection and longevity of the floors and rugs, I ask that you not wear shoes while in the condo. Thanks!

-All heat needs to be turned off completely anytime guest is not in the condo.

-No smoking is allowed inside condo.

-No pets are allowed inside the condo, or on the balcony.

-Arrangements can be made prior to arrival if guests are interested in workout facility, pool, and/or jacuzzi hot tub.

-Wi-Fi is available at no additional charge if you have an Xfinity Comcast account. If you don't have one, i can provide you mine.

Gregg's place is a pretty wonderful find! It's clean and lovely, and is precisely as described. The West Linn location is approximately 20 min from downtown, a beautiful hour to the Columbia Valley Gorge, and 45 from wine country, so it made for a really perfect spot to allow us to explore the area. Gregg himself was communicative and attentive! We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

The unit embodied exactly what we were expecting for suburban Portland. Gregg was a great host and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Condo had everything we needed and was less than 1/2 hour to airport, downtown Portland, and the wedding venue in West Linn. Having a car was convenient for the location and there was ample parking. Easy instructions and clear communication. Thanks!

Hi there!

I'm an easy-going, clean, professional home-owner who feels lucky to have such a great spot in which to live. For over fifteen years I've been sharing it with friends and family as they come visit, now I'm excited to share with others via Airbnb. The money earned goes right back into the condo for continual upgrades and modifications!

I'm a travel enthusiast, and have enjoyed trekking around our country and world for the past many years. I love good food & drink and enjoy the opportunities that dining provides to bring people into community with each other... whether I know them or not! Some of my favorite places include the Pearl district in NW Portland, any number of the food cart pods around the area, the Stage Deli in Manhattan, the Haupstrasse in Heidelburg, Germany, and 'Nando's Pizza in the little Tuscan village of Anghiari, Italy.

I grew up in the area, in the neighboring town of Lake Oswego. I was away for four years in college at Indiana University, and have since worked in the Portland metropolitan area. I know the area well, and always look forward to finding a new hike along the Gorge, a walk through one of the many eclectic Portland neighborhoods, or just sitting with a book on my balcony or sofa while looking out at Mt. Hood.

A bass player as well, I'm happy to make recommendations and provide sources for guests as to where they might go scavenging for good food, exploring the outdoors, or finding a good live concert of any music style.
