We stayed with Anne Marie while attending a wedding in Eniskerry. Our flight was delayed and we arrived very late to the warmest welcome with home baked scones and tea before retiring to bed! Like Anne Marie, her house is full of character! And that's what makes it a real Irish experience, it feels like anything could happen there! There are guests coming and going from all over the world and Anne Marie is an extremely attentive host, she works very hard to look after everyone. Thank you for a memorable trip, we had a great time!
It was a pleasure staying with Anne-Marie. She was very accommodating and welcomed us very warmly. We had a lovely time there and cant wait to return to wicklow again!
Anne-Marie was a wonderful host and always made my friend and I feel welcome. I wanted my friend, who was visiting me for a week, to have the opportunity to live in an Irish home and engage with an Irish family and this was the perfect choice. The home is comfortable and lively with Anne-Marie's kids, their friends, and other guests. We had a great time meeting all of the household and warming up by the fire after a busy day around Wicklow. Anne-Marie always had us a tray of tea and biscuits ready for when we got back at the end of the day. The breakfast was different each day giving us variety and always delicious. It was great that we could socialize with the family and other guests in the sitting room but also shut the door to our own room for privacy. We stayed in the larger first floor room and it was comfortable, spacious, and private. The only downside was that it was difficult not having a car. Though there is a bus stop just a few yards from the B&B, but it is often 15-20 minutes late and unpredictable. The walk to Enniskerry is lengthy (took us about 20-25 minutes) and often had us walking down the road past sharp curves and no sidewalk. The walk to Powerscourt gardens from the village is short and easy, but everything else is a hike. If you have a car, then you will be able to get around easily and quickly, but just know that without one, it can be time consuming and cost you several taxi and bus rides. Anne-Marie was generous and offered us rides to the local pub and to the waterfall, but we wanted to stay in Enniskerry to see the Wicklow Mountains National park and ended up having to travel to Dublin to take a tour of the national park and Glendalough. This is the perfect place to get away from the city life in the quite town of Enniskerry, stay with a wonderful and welcoming host, and simply relax in the tranquil Irish countryside.
We stayed shortly, just one night, but experience we had was outstanding. Lovely room, very clean, delicious breakfast, I only wish we could have stayed longer. Our host, Anne-Marie was great, recommended few of local attractions to see, she even drove us to nearby Wicklow waterfall. We'll definitely stay there again if we happen to return and would recommend it to everyone.
We really didn't expect our host, Anne-Marie would make such a large part in what made our short trip to Ireland such a lovely stay. She really is a wonderful person and her home is glorious! We were made to feel welcome and treated like friends.
I recommend taking the time to have a massage. A very effective therapy to help you unwind and begin your stay in Ireland. The beauty therapy room is the standard of a high street treatment room, but much more tranquil.
Enniskerry is a lovely village and the walk from Anne-Marie's is really nice. The local pub has great grub and the Guiness washes it down well! Even the train trip from Bray to Dublin is picturesque and relaxing...
Highly recommended ! We will be back.
Anne-Marie was great she was very helpful and made me feel very much at home. There was lots of information about the including places to eat, she suggested the all the spots to visit and showed a genuine concern that I had a great visit.
The room was clean the bed comfortable and the Irish Breakfast was great.
Anne-Marie's home was a thousand times more lovely than we even expected. Surrounded by trees, it was a truly wonderful escape from sightseeing and being on the go. Completely hospitable and makes a mean cuppa. Would definitely recommend this dreamy place - we are already missing it.
