Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.

Garden view

Soak up the view during your stay.
Come for the crisp mountain mornings; stay for the beauty of West Virginia in the fall.

Vernal Vibe Rise is a small regenerative farm on a serene sliver of land banked by the Monongahela National Forest—and near the Greenbrier River Trail. Your host has a dozen+ years of experience welcoming Airbnb guests.

Please come stay at Lost Croft Cabin: walk in the forest, enjoy the local art, and cook delicious organic Pantry Package farm meals in your own open kitchen.

All respectful guests welcome🌿

The space
Lost Croft Cabin is located adjacent to Vernal Vibe Rise (a small, regenerative working farm). The cabin also borders the Monongahela National Forest and allows easy access to the wonderful Greenbrier River Trail, which is nearby and perfect for strolling or multi-day bike rides.

Come enjoy the farm and forest atmosphere, and day-trip to Lewisburg, Richwood, Cass Scenic Railroad State Park, Snowshoe Mountain, or the Cranberry Wilderness.

Lost Croft Cabin is also a convenient home-base if you have other plans elsewhere in the Greenbrier Valley, or even the New River Gorge National Park (popular for rafting and hiking).

While I welcome visitors who are interested in learning more about farming, permaculture, and intentional ecosystems, farm tours are currently not available.

Guest access
Lost Croft Cabin is all yours! Enjoy the expansive open kitchen and sitting room, front and back porches, and woodland area around the house—including the Monongahela National Forest across the road.

Guests are not to use the wood stove or start any fires on the property. In case of a power outage, please contact me immediately and I will help resolve the situation and provide heat.

I live on the adjoining property and campers sometimes (rarely) occupy the campsite between the two houses.

Other things to note
Plan ahead for delicious farm meals by adding a Pantry Package to your stay at Lost Croft Cabin. I’ll curate a fresh menu that fits your dietary preferences, then stock your fridge with some of the following: beyond-organic heritage eggs, local/organic meats, fresh herbs in season, local baked goods, and other clean products from my farm and other nearby makers. The Pantry Package allows you to cook tasty farm meals in your kitchen, on your own schedule. Please contact me at or before booking for more details/pricing and to discuss food options.

Pets are welcome—but ONLY with PRIOR APPROVAL. Please send me a message before booking and we can discuss the pet guidelines.

Lost Croft Cabin makes a terrific writing or other creative retreat, especially with the addition of a Pantry Package. And I avoid the use of synthetic chemicals and fabrics, so the cabin is also a great home-away-from-home for people who require chem-free lodging.

Please contact me if you have any questions, and check out the farm website (search: Vernal Vibe Rise) for more information about farming practices or to preorder farm products to take home with you.

I am happy to provide tips about local activities, including hiking, places to dine out or grab takeout, and info about the local farmers markets—cloth market bags are in the cabin for your convenience.

While Lost Croft Cabin can accommodate up to seven guests, advance notice is necessary if the queen sleeper sofa or an extra pallet bed will be needed. Please confirm this at or before booking so I can be sure to have all the necessary beds ready before you arrive.

The cabin is located adjacent to the Monongahela National Forest, which is an unmanaged forest (that means, among other things, that wild animals live in the area). If you are exceptionally prissy, or otherwise uncomfortable with the natural world, this is probably not the place for you.

While WiFi is available, it should not be relied upon for constant or high-use internet (such as videoconferencing or streaming video) because of the finicky nature of rural connectivity. Guests can expect to complete basic online activities like loading webpages, emailing, and sending text messages. Please contact me prior to booking with any questions.
