OVERVIEW: Private room with most comfortable bed & charming antique furniture. Self-serve breakfast & kitchen access are amongst best amenities here. Getting downtown fast & easy with own metro cards is another. Free Internet. Price Match Guarantee!!
WHY?: When you stay with me, you will feel right at home. Common courtesy is the standard operating procedure. I even give my guests unique souvenir gifts that they won't be able to get anywhere else.
ACCOMMODATIONS: My condo is quiet and cozy. You share a roommate-style 2 Bedroom/1 Bath condo with the most comfortable pillow-top double bed. Your payment includes self-serve breakfast, satellite TV in your room, and wireless internet. You may also use the kitchen to cook your own food!
THIRD WHEEL: I have a futon for a single person that may be placed on the floor in cases where an extra bed is needed.

Since it is a residential neighborhood, you may eat downtown or bring food home to cook. There is Tiger Mart (groceries) less than one mile away. There are also many opportunities for carry out food to be delivered.

But I am more than helpful if I am around when you are visiting.
NEIGHBORHOOD: The condos are located in a residential neighborhood and public transportation abounds. It's only one block from EIGHT BUS LINES including service to two green-line subway stops. On weekdays, buses run every ten minutes, at night and on weekends, the buses run three times an hour. I highly recommend using metroopensdoors on the web and use the Trip Planner or download the Smartphone Application.

Denise's room is clean and nice. My wife and l feel comfortable at Denise's home. She is a nice person.
Denise was a friendly host who went out of her way to pick us up from the airport and provide us travel info for Washington DC. After spending hours walking around the city, it was nice to have a warm and comfortable place to come back to at the end of the day. Denise's place is a little further from the city, but the public transport is easy and accessible, and this is an affordable option for tourists. I would definitely recommend Denise's place to tourists planning a trip to Washington DC!
Denise is nice, evreything was clean, she helps us to go to the airport and for documentations. It was a good stay in the house, thank you for all.

Clean room, very close to Gaylord Convention Center. Great host.
Nice, clean, comfortable place to stay. The hostess of the house is very welcoming. I highly recommend staying here.
I had a good stay. Room was clean and comfortable, Denise is friendly and accommodating. Didn't use public transportation but was able to find street parking without too much trouble; short drive to the Gaylord Convention Center.
Absolutely would recommend this room to anyone. Denise was a very gracious host, she drove us to the station when we were leaving because she happened to be free and she lent us umbrellas when it was forecast to rain.
We mostly were sightseeing so we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the apartment, and as a result of this, there was no scheduling conflict when it came to using the bathroom.
The neighbourhood was full of lovely, friendly and helpful people. They were absolutely delightful. Everybody was so kind, even when the weather was rotten.
If you're interested in staying somewhere where you can be independent from your host, then this place is ideal. Of you don't like public transport then you might be better off with a hire car, but only because you have to catch a bus to get to the train station and if its cold, you don't want to be spending 45ish minutes getting to a location that is only a 15 minute drive away.
Anyway, I loved my time here and the next time I am in DC I'll be staying with Denise again!!!
Suburbia in the City is a delightfully cozy and enjoyable experience. The condo is clean, and the room has everything one might need. We were especially pleased with the location, as it was an easy drive to everywhere we wanted to go. We had a lovely weekend, and enjoyed it immensely.
This is a great value for frugal travelers who are comfortable taking public transportation and interacting with locals. Being white, I stuck out a bit in this predominately African American community, but people were helpful and kind, steering me to the right bus stop, etc. Denise provided maps and a metro pass and it wasn't hard to find my way.
