We are 2 min. walking distance from main shopping street (Kıbrıs Şehitleri Caddesi) in Alsancak and 5 min. from seaside (Kordon). Our house is situated in a very lively neighbourhood at the heart of the city; very close to bar streets, nice fish restaurants, cafes and supermarket. We can also give you tips about where to eat good and cheap food. Every Sunday there is local market close to our street where you can buy fresh fruits, vegetables, fish and delicious cheese directly from local producers. It is very easy to access to public transportation; just 5 minutes from bus station, 10 minutes from Alsancak ferry port and 5 minutes walking distance to Alsancak train station and IZBAN subway station which you can reach the Airport within 40 minutes.
We are a young couple at the age of 30. We speak fluent English and German. We are living at the upest story and most of the time at least one of us will be around, so you can ask if you need something.
I stayed with Ezgi for two nights. Her home is very near the railway station and is very close to the seaside. On my first evening Ezgi took me for an 'orientation' walk of the area which was really helpful. She also provided me with lots of useful tips about where to eat and what to see. I would certainly stay with Ezgi again if I returned to Izmir.
Ezgi is a natural at hosting because she cares and is interested in the needs of her guests. Her house is centrally located in Izmir close to public transport to take or connect you anywhere you need to go.
My room was quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. Other guests were lovely. Ezgi's husband Emmanuelle is very entertaining and a nice person.
Ezgi goes the full mile to look after you even meeting me upon arrival quite late at night at the Izban station from the airport.
I had a lovely time at their house in Turkey and would highly recommend.
Very beautiful old greek house and well renovated. Excellent location and excellent hosting, you will feel like your home at Ezgi's place. Easy access to everywhere from Alsancak train station (also from airport).
I never got to meet Ezgi herself - she was called out of town because of a family emergency - but she did everything in her power to ensure that I had a pleasant stay, and the person I did interact with, Anastasia, was an excellent host, friendly and helpful at every turn. The house is a beautiful old place, with a courtyard and old wood staircase. On the whole, an excellent experience!
I had a brief stay with Ezgi and Emanuel and it was excellent! Their house is beautiful - and in case it's not clear - it's a freestanding house in an area that is pretty much all apartment buildings. Ezgi was very generous with her time and really went out of her way to make my stay pleasant. Highly recommended!!
I stayed at Ezgi’s and Emanuel’s place for 1 month since I attended a Turkish course in Izmir.
Their house is in the Alsancak neighbourhood which is the perfect location for your stay in Izmir. The shopping-street, nice restaurants/bars and the seaside are just a quick walk away (~2- 5min.).
It is also perfect for sightseeing as it is very easy to get to all the interesting sights of Izmir either by walking or by public transportation (bus, train, izban, ferry are close-by).
The old greek house has its very own character and is very comfortable. I stayed in the single room with access to the terrace which was very light during the day. The room has a very comfortable bed (with two drawers where you can put some of your stuff) and a wardrobe. Ezgi and Emanuel even put a small desk in the room so that I could do my homework and things for university.
Ezgi and Emanuel are amazing hosts.
The day I arrived Ezgi showed me around the neighboorhood to get oriented.
They helped me with all my questions and made sure I felt comfortable during my stay.
I would highly recommend staying at Ezgi‘s and Emanuel‘s place if you plan on visiting Izmir :)
