Jill's place is set in a tropical garden rich in fragrant flowers and luscious fruit which she shares generously with guests. It's a 2 minute walk to a snorkeling beach, and 2 more to the point of land demarcating beautiful Kealakekua Bay. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen well-appointed. It can be hot during the day, but there are fans. The neighbor's yappy dogs are the only significant downside. We'd be happy to stay there again.

Sylvia, I am glad you enjoyed your stay at my Mermaid Home and Kealakekua Bay! My neighbors are wonderful folks, yet sometimes their dogs get excited all together! August is our warmest month in Hawaii! I enjoyed meeting you all. Mahalo, Jill Ami

Response from Jill:
I am glad you enjoyed your stay! I love to jump in the ocean when ever I feel too warm, the brackish water at Manini Beach fed by the cold mauka water entering the ocean through underground lava tubes mixes with the ocean water and cools you right down! It is healing and refreshing.

Away from the tourist area of Kona-Kailua, close to great snorkeling and on the way to Volcanoes National Park (2 hours). Very nice amenities.

The outside veranda doubled the living space of the property. We found ourselves eating, reading, and lounging there more than inside! The property is within walking distance of some of the best kayaking in the world. Jill also owns an art gallery, and the art inside the rooms was fun to live with for our stay.

Jill's place was very nice. Well kept, clean, and nicely decorated with local artists pieces. The place had a very secluded feel to it, with lush gardens and lots of places to relax and enjoy. It is in the middle of a residential area, but you can walk to Manini Beach and drive for 10 minutes to Place of Refuge and Two Step beach for amazing snorkeling and swimming with dolphins and turtles in the wild. The kitchen worked perfectly for us. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean and well stocked with towels. Jill was wonderful, we enjoyed chatting with her and learning about the area. We highly recommend Jill's place and will come back!

This place was a jungle paradise! Such amazing plants, fruit and flowers all around it. Really great location just steps from an amazing beach and kayaking. We had a great time and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a chill island retreat.
