  • Staying at curious moon was incredible. Judy and bill were fantastic hosts. We arrived late and Judy stayed up to greet us and show us around. The cottage was super clean, and there was a platter of cheese, grapes, and crackers waiting on us when we checked in. (Not to mention a bottle of wine!)

Bill was kind enough to give us a ride to the pier to pick up our car after taking a cab home the night before. They also provide you with lots of nice touches, like a cooler to take to the beach! Speaking of the beach, it's only a short walk from the cottage, and we were the only people on the beach at subset for over a mile. Book this stay!!

  • We had a great time in Florida. Cottage is as described very comfortable. Storage is a little lacking, but we stayed for 7 days so we had quit a bit of stuff. Thanks Judith

  • The Curious Moon Cottage is an amazing place to stay on Florida's forgotten coast. It's only about 30 min away from Panama City Beach, but even during spring break we were able to walk out on the Pt St Joe beach and be one of the only ones there. It is a great place to get away from it all.

Judith and Bill were excellent hosts. They made us scones and coffee in the morning and apple fritters at night (if you bring a couple different types of apples down with you then maybe you can convince Bill to make you some)

They will give you all the privacy you want, but if you go to the patio you can enjoy some great company with two very interesting people (They owned a cafe in Puerto Rico, Bill was in the Marine Corps, Judith is an artist).

  • Our first visit to the forgotten coast of Florida and first airbnb experience were both excellent! Paul and I found the Curious Moon studio Cottage to be ideal. It was completely outfitted: everything needed in a well stocked kitchen to prepare meals; chairs, hats, bags, cooler, etc. for the beach; and hosts, Bill and Judith, who were ready with tips for local places and events. We had a wonderful time and hope to return.

  • Judith and Bill were great hosts - giving enough space, but there if you need them. Judith was very accommodating to our crazy schedule and received us late on the scheduled night. The room was toasty and ready for our tired heads but not before we had some grapes, cheese and crackers (and wine) - a wonderful treat to tired travelers. We decided not to forego the wine as we were exhausted. We did get a healthy serving of Judith's pie, blueberry and pumpkin.

The cottage itself was extremely well equipped. It came with a plethora of books, TV, videos, art, etc. Judith works with the local community theater, directing acting, etc. As someone mentioned there is a painting porch if you decide to explore your artistic side. We were there only two nights so we were short on time.

Judith and Bill recommended local eateries that were the best. Ask them for recommendations.

We traveled with our dog and Judith was likewise accommodating to our dog.

Port St. Joe is the perfect beach and a wonderfully kept secret. Words of advice: you are at the cusp of time zones so restaurant open hours may seem a bit off because some are in Eastern Time Zone and the others are in Central. Judith and Bill can help you there too. Also, restaurants close when business is slow which can be a problem if you eat late like we do. And finally, cell service is spotty in the area especially while in the cottage. That can be a good thing if you're trying to get away.

The one "oops" was that we did not look at the sleeping arrangement and the cottage had two twin beds, not a queen. That just made the evenings a bit more romantic for us as we cuddled up in one bed and pretended we were teenagers.

Overall a highly recommend for both the Curious Moon Cottage and Port St. Joe. Thank you Judith and Bill.

  • Judith was very helpful. She called the day before to confirm when we would be arriving. The yard is fenced in and dog friendly, the cottage was close to the beach. We also enjoyed painting and reading by the pool, as well as taking our bikes on rides on the coast. It was easy for us to enjoy our time there!

  • A perfect retreat to the Forgotten coast, quiet and comfy, we enjoyed cooking our meals, watching the sun go down on the beach, swimming in the pool and of course feasting on Judith's bread pudding and berry cobbler over great conversation.

  • Curious Moon Art Studio Cottage was perfect for me and my dog! The yard was fenced and very private with a beautiful pool! Judith and Bill are wonderful unique people of excellent character and taste. Wine, cheese, and crumb cake made me feel at home. Just a couple of blocks to the beautiful beach where I grew up playing as a child.
The cottage had plenty of books to read and a good selection of movies or music. Well stocked kitchen area with pots, pans, cutlery or anything else you could need. The artwork on the walls put the icing on the cake!
I'll be back for sure! Loved it!

  • Judith's place was lovely! We booked last-minute with no trouble, and she was very helpful in getting us to her place and showing us around our accommodations. She also gave us some recommendations for things to do and places to eat around the area. Her cozy pool-house cottage was comfortable, clean, and quiet. A great place and a great hostess!

My husband and I are retired from our own Business. We had a antique guesthouse and cafe in the Caribbean Island,Boqueron, Puerto Rico, it was called Wildflowers, Antique Guesthouse & Cafe. We also owned a quest cottage on Little Sodus Bay, Lake Onatario as well as, an Art Gallery and Cafe. So here we are in beautiful St. Joe Beach, and loving it.. We chose this area because a friend of mine new that I would really like it here. She was right. It's a little private getaway. what is also great about our area is that the beach is never crowded. Whats unique about this area is that the white sand beaches are so beautiful, serene, relaxing. It's not overpopulated here, just the opposite. We have everything here, fishing, hunting, sailing, surfing, great seafood and dining. The people in this area are very welcoming and congienal. The rental cottage is quaint, right next to the pool and you are just two short blocks away from the beach. You'll feel very much at home. .
