Your private, sunny suite includes 2 bedrooms, a full bath, family room and breakfast nook. The space is set away from the rest of the house so it is quiet, but if you need us for anything, we are generally close by or reachable by phone.
Your private entrance will lead you into the family room, complete with comfortable couch, TV and DVD player, and 2 pianos that you are welcome to play. There is a breakfast nook that will be supplied with a coffee maker, coffee, hot water pot and assorted teas, sugar and honey. There is a small refrigerator where you will find orange juice and whatever other breakfast choices we have. Before you arrive I will check with you about what you would like for breakfast; freshly baked items or fruit salad with yogurt and/or my homemade granola. Continuing up the stairs you will find the newly remodeled bathroom with a lovely shower. The 2 bedrooms each have a queen-sized bed with memory foam topper on the mattress. Both bedrooms have ample closet space, and two large windows with second-floor views of the orchard and beyond. There is a desk in one of the rooms.
The yard, over an acre large, is part of what makes us so happy to call this place home. We have dozens of apple trees, abundant berries of several types, a kiwi arbor, and gardens with various flowers and vegetables. It is always available for your enjoyment, and we welcome you to pick whatever's in season!
Our kitchen space is available to you. We are a vegetarian household so we ask that you do not cook meat in our kitchen. There is also a blender, a toaster and a microwave and conventional stovetop and oven.
Interaction with Guests
We're friendly and enjoy meeting visitors and helping them get settled and oriented. However, we also respect our guests' privacy and have busy schedules of our own.
We live on a quiet road with no through traffic, in a rural setting atop rolling hills. The houses are set far apart, so we have privacy and are hardly aware of neighbors. Sometimes deer and wild turkeys pass through our yard--and hummingbirds visit us daily!
Despite the rural feel, we are a mere 1.3 miles from downtown--a pleasant 25 minute walk. Bus travel in the region is limited. Biking is very popular in our area.
Other Things to Note
We are a beautiful 8 minute walk from Luther Burbank's summer cottage and horticultural farm, and 1 mile away from a county park with over 160 acres of natural terrain, traversed by asphalt and dirt paths for walkers, runners and cyclists.
Several wineries and tasting rooms are within a 10 mile radius.
Also, my husband, John, is a fabulous musician and he will be happy to play music with children or adults, depending on the day of the week, if you are interested. We have had many wonderful musical experiences with our Airbnb visitors.
We expect our guests to be kind, considerate, respectful of our home.
This is what airbnb is all about - meeting pleasant, helpful hosts and having a clean place to sleep. Thank you Leslie and John for being helpful and having a nice place to stay on our vacation!
Leslie was there when we got there, helping us to find her place...she had granola and other treats that met our dietary needs....she was gracious and helpful and resourceful about the area. We were a lovely walk through the cemetery to the downtown area and a close drive to lovely other places to visit. Was a memorable anniversary weekend for us and they helped respect and enhance that...
Leslie and her husband John were so kind to our family and their recommendations on nearby restaurants, wineries, places to visit, etc were all excellent. The location was also perfect. Sebastopol is such a charming town with lots of fun restaurants and i loved that there were great wineries all around the town. The overall experience of our stay was so pleasant and I would definitely want to stay at Leslie's again when we come back next time!
Leslie and her husband are super friendly. They answered all our questions and gave us really healthy breakfast.
It was nice to stay at the Tranquil orchard suite.
Leslie and John made my mom and I feel completely at home during our stay! Guests stay in an area separate from the rest of the house, with two very comfortable bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room/dining room area. Leslie made apple crisp for breakfast which was delicious and we could enjoy it guilt-free since it was so healthy! We got excellent advice on places to go (especially helpful on a rainy day) - complete with a hand-drawn map! John even left us some piano music so that we could make use of the two pianos in the living room. The only downside to our stay was a leaking shower stall, but we were able to shower in the main house and I know that they plan to fix that. Thanks Leslie and John for helping us have a really special weekend!
Leslie's place exceeded my expectations as far being a tranquil relaxing environment. A quiet rural Sebastopol road with beautiful gardens and views. Lovely to wake up and go outside and eat breakfast. She is great host, very helpful , and warm personable person. I am going back to stay a few more days. Definitely worth the value with two beds and a living area. She made us fresh apple crisp and fruit which was a wonderful addition. Thanks for hosting me and my son Forest, it was a good experience.
My daughter and I had the most wonderful time in Lesley and John's charming suite. It was clean and comfortable. We slept deeply! Lesley very kindly made us terrific breakfasts and John set us up with an amazing day sightseeing the shore in our car and on bikes. The town is terrific with great restaurants. They were eager to show off the wonders of the area and happy to leave us to our own devices! If we can get back to the area we'll stay again!
We are friendly and open-minded, and value kindness and compassion. I was a potter for 20 years and now teach special education. My husband is a psychotherapist and musician. We've raised (and evicted!) five lovely children, and now we and our teacup poodle Austin welcome you to share this peaceful space. Feel free to roam and enjoy our one-acre orchard & gardens, full of fruits, vegetables, and flowers--depending on the season! Currently, the apple orchard is coming into bloom, and the asparagus are being harvested.
