You'll be just steps from New York's best restaurants, shopping, and architecture in this stylish, cozy apartment in SoHo's heart. Nearby subway stops will take you anywhere in the city. Comfortable, clean, fully equipped, and flawlessly reviewed!
A 1-bedroom apartment in a prime SoHo location, steps away from the best restaurants, cafés, shopping, and nightlife that SoHo has to offer, and just a 10 minute walk to TriBeCa. One of the best locations in the city with very convenient access via subway to all parts of Manhattan (the nearest subway station is 1.5 blocks away).
Located in a historic walk-up on the 2nd floor (no need to climb five flights of stairs!). The street is a quintessential SoHo block, with boutiques, cafés, and restaurants, including the world-famous Ladurée café and courtyard just across the street. SoHo is also one of the safest neighborhoods in the country.
While the building is historic, the apartment is renovated, retaining the classic high ceilings but featuring a modern kitchen with dishwasher and plenty of electrical outlets.
The cozy living room includes a sofa and an HDTV with Apple TV, including HBO and Netflix.
Free, super fast WiFi is included in the reservation.
The bedroom has a queen size bed with a luxurious Sealy Posturepedic mattress and large windows facing the street that let in plenty of light.
The apartment is well heated during the colder months of the year; the windows are sound-insulated as well. In the warmer months, a floor-unit air-conditioner cools the entire apartment and can be operated via remote control.
Right below the apartment there is a neighborhood French Café that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a perfect place to start your day. There is a laundry shop downstairs that has a drop service, as well as a dry cleaner and convenience store.
The area is absolutely packed with places to go and eat -- I am happy to recommend something to you as well. I've marked a bunch of great places (as well as points of convenience) on the map /guide of the area.
I will provide fresh towels and sheets, and will be around in case you have any questions or concerns.
Also included in the apartment for your use:
In case you need to park a car, there are several garages in the area. Please (website hidden) Icon Parking systems for a list of their garages; there is also a Quik Park on West Broadway and a few other garages just a block or two away with reasonable rates.

The location is ideal for getting around New York. The A,C,E lines are just 1.5 blocks away on the corner of 6th Avenue and Spring Street. The 1,2,3 are a 7 minute walk from the apartment. The BDFM, NQR, and 456 are all less than a 10 minute walk through the heart of SoHo.
Transit from all major NYC airports is easy and I all provide suggestions and details to reduce times and costs.

I stayed with George for a week on a recent trip to New York for business.
The apartment is excellently located in Soho, with a bunch of excellent bars and restaurants nearby (Costata has the best steak in NY in my opinion) as well as the music bars in Bleeker Street only a few blocks away. Its very close to the subway to get downtown to Wall Street (Spring St on the ACE line) but also close enough to walk.
Inside, it was quiet with almost no road noise and a classy main bedroom and comfortable bed. The internet was speedy and reliable. It has a nice modern kitchen (although it was unused) and overall the place was super comfortable, safe and homely.
George was a polite, thoughtful and professional host, I can recommend him and his cool apartment thoroughly. I hope to stay here again on my next trip to NY.
George was a great host and his apartment was lovely. We really enjoyed being right in the middle of SoHo and having easy access to stores and restaurants.
We also really liked how George checked in with us via text to make sure that we were settled and didn't have any concerns. This was our first Airbnb visit and we had a great experience!
George's apartment is in a great location, right in the heart of SoHo and close to many incredible places to eat and drink. The apartment itself was comfortable and quite big for New York - very comfortable bed and quiet location. George was very accommodating regarding check-in and check-out - overall a pleasant stay.
I and my husband stayed at George’s studio for about 2 weeks. Best 3 things to say about it: perfect location, quiet street at night (no noise at all) and availability of the host to promptly answer our queries (no problems of reaching him at all). However, I had a few unpleasant issues. First, the add boasted an orthopedic mattress but it was actually way too soft so you would sink in it, and offered no lumbar support. Second, the studio’s building had a very dirty hallway and stairway (not pleasant to arrive home and have all the huge garbage bins on your way to the apt.) and the studio could use some cleaning (some dust hanging on the bedroom walls). Although it did not bother us much, it is fair to say that the apartment is older than it appears in the add pictures. All things considered (including price), the studio can be overpriced, considering that we found 2 weeks before some hotels at the same location for about USD600,00 for 5 days.
Thank you Alice -- I'm glad that you enjoyed the amazing location and quietness. I was happy to quickly respond to all of your requests and accommodate your early check-in time.
Unfortunately, not everyone likes all of the same kinds of mattresses, but I've never had a complaint about mine before. It's a Sealy Posturepedic Mattress with a Euro Pillowtop and has a firmness rating of 7 on the Sealy scale. It was an $800 luxury mattress, and is not an IKEA or economical mattress that is often found in other Airbnb's (in fact, it's the same mattress used by leading hotels).
With respect to the hallways in the apartment building, there was some temporary renovation work going on in the building during your stay, which unfortunately is not something I have control over as a host. All work has however been completed for 2015.
Since Alice's stay, I have overhauled and upgraded the apartment for 2015! There's all new paint in the unit, new pieces of furniture, new amenities for guests, and a host of other changes -- please see my complete listing for what is included, and of course, ask me any questions.
Regarding the price: I do not believe that it's possible to find something of equal location and size for even close to the price I'm offering. If anyone can find a hotel room in SoHo for less, I am happy to match the price!
Our stay at George's apartment was great. The location was perfect and the apartment clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable.
George and his assistant were very flexible and accomodating around our indefinite arrival time and easy to work with.
We will definitely be back!
This place was great. It was so centrally located to everything we wanted to do in the city. It was the perfect size for what we needed. It was cozy, but large enough to provide a spot for us to cool our heels and even have my sister over for a cup of tea. The TV had Netflix which was nice to zone out to when we were exhausted one afternoon before dinner.
We did unfortunately blow out a fuse one morning when using a blow dryer. It happens. I probably should have figured out how to fix it sooner, but when I got in touch with George he walked me through the process to reset the box and restore the power to the affected part of the apartment.
All in all I highly recommend it and will be looking it up for my next stay in NYC.
The neighborhood was quiet and safe.
