Casita Valle de Palmeras is a converted rustic farm property built in 1900 which has been lovingly and sympathetically restored with many original features and is ready to welcome you. The apartment is light and airy, offering a comfy bedroom cum living room and a sunny walled garden, providing a lovely space in which to relax. The house is in a protected area of Haria only a few minutes from the centre and the ideal starting point for many amazing rural walks with volcanic and ocean views.

The space
Casaita Valle de Palmeras is a traditional Canarian house (circa 1900) and family home which exudes a feeling of warmth. The original large house comprises of the family home and a ground floor apartment each with their own entrances.

Guests can enjoy the original rustic charm of this garden apartment. The apartment has its own entrance which opens up into a sheltered garden with comfy seating, dining and BBQ area. The garden is the perfect place to sit and relax whilst catching the sun. The garden opens into the sunlit bedroom with a double bed and includes a living room area with a double sofa bed. The apartment also has a small fully equipped practical kitchen which includes a fridge, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, toaster, and kettle. The kitchen leads to the bathroom with a modern shower, sink and WC. This property is ideal for couples, family, and friends. (Please note sleeping is all in one room).

The house itself is situated in a protected area on a one way street leading to the centre of Haria which is a few minutes walk away and just 6KM from the local sandy beach. Walk to the end of the road and you are in the middle of the beautiful local mountain trails with stunning volcanic and ocean views.

Guest access
Casita Valle de Palmeras is a private apartment which can sleep up to four. The apartment has its own entrance and private facilities. It adjoins our family home which includes Ailbhe and Aine who are 16 and 19, as well as our 2 cats and 2 dogs who are very friendly and you may hear or see from time to time.

Other things to note
We want to make sure our guests have the best experience possible staying with us in Haria. To this end guest feedback is really important to us. We are just next door so if there any problems please let us know.

The sofa bed and main double bed are in the same room. If you are a booking of 2 people and require 2 separate beds please let us know before arriving. Also, if young children are included in the booking but are not on the booking please let us know so we can set the rooms up accordingly. We can provide a travel cot if you need one. Please read the description of the house before you book.

During the difficult times caused by Covid 19, it is a requirement to wear a mask when walking in the street and in shops. However, when you reach the rural open areas of the countryside you are permitted to remove the mask. You can also practice sport such as running and cycling without a mask. A few establishments on the islands have remained closed however we are lucky in Haria to have the bars and restaurants open and all the CACT attractions (Jameos del Agua, Jardin de Cactus etc) are open. Unfortunately Cesar Manrique's house remans closed for now.

Location

Haría, Canarias, Spain

Haria is an old Canarian village known as the valley of a thousand palms. It is a sheltered green oasis in the north of the island. Haria was home to local artist Cesar Manrique who was instrumental in maintaining the timeless character of Lanzarote. He inspired much of the architecture on the island and many of the art installations and attractions are thanks to him. Cesar Manrique was killed in a tragic accident and now his untouched house and art studio is open to view in Haria village. The local plaza, a few minutes walk away, offers great value Canarian bars/restaurants and shops. Here you can enjoy a slower pace of life as you soak up local culture wandering around the village or sitting at a bar. There is also an artisan market every Saturday. Haria is the centre for the majority of the municipalities local events and festivals which offers a great opportunity to experience local culture. The area is also a great starting point for leisurely or more challenging walks, there are many scenic routes to choose from. Other attractions close by include Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verde, Mirador del Rio, and Jardin de Cactus. And for beach lovers, the closest beach, Playa la Garita, is just 6km away. Arrieta also has a small sandy beach and sea pool ideal for young children and is situated by the harbour wall. The next village around the coast, Punta Mujeres, also has a collection of sea pools ideal for all the family.

If you wish to discover more of the island, Haria is an ideal centre for your holiday with most of the island attractions no more than a 35 minute drive away. The tourist resort of Costa Teguise is just a 20 minute drive away and Puerto Del Carmen just a 35 minute drive away.
