*We have more rooms, see our other listings*
This double room is located in the second floor and has amazing views of the beach and the park. You can see the sun rising from the sea without leaving your bed.
NEW >> we offer Spanish lessons!
Vía Verde is a sustainable off-grid house in the middle of a natural reserve, in a marvellous location: just in the entrance to Playa Grande beach and Santa Teresa National Park.
It is 100% powered by solar energy.
Our philosophy is to enjoy a peaceful place in full connection with nature.
The house is powered by nature, without harming it: we use solar energy and the water comes from a well, so we ask our guests to make a wise and sensible use of electricity and water.
We also collect rainwater in a tank and we recycle the water from the sinks and showers in an artificial wetland.
Devices that use big amounts of energy, such as hairdryers and irons, cannot be used here.
We have 5 rooms, two upstairs (this is one of those) with amazing views of the sea and other 3 in the ground floor (see our other listings).
You have a toilet and a complete bathroom which are shared with room 2.
There are also several common areas with hammocks, tables and chairs to chill out.
Shared kitchen available.
Breakfast is included.
We have wi-fi, but it can be quite slow at times.
The atmosphere in Via Verde is peaceful, a tranquil place to rest and connect with the surroundings, so we ask our guests to respect that vibe. We love music and having a drink, but if you are looking for noise and party this might not be the place for you…
We live in the house, so we keep an eye on it all day long.
Location: the house is a 2 minute walk away from Playa Grande and Santa Teresa National Park and 15 minute walk away from the town centre. At a 5 minutes walk there are restaurants, and two markets to buy food and groceries. If you are feeling lazy, there are also a couple of pizza, Mexican and wok food deliveries.
Guests will have breakfast included and they share a bathroom with room 2.
The town centre is about 15-20 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by car.
There is a very good Italian restaurant (with Internet) called Il Tano, like 300 metres away.
There are two markets to buy groceries and drinks at a 10 minute walk away from the house, just next to them there is a fast food stand with burgers and chivitos. And if you feel too lazy, there is also a pizza and fast food delivery.
You can park outside the house.
As for security, the house is very safe. We live here so we are around 24-7.
We have maps, brochures and information about the area and will be very happy to give you any advice you need.
We speak fluent English, French and Portuguese. And every afternoon Martin gives Spanish lessons to our guests!!
It is important that our guests share our love for nature and tranquility. We ask our guests to be aware of the sustainable nature of the house, so make a sensible use of the water and the electricity.
We love to chat, have a drink in good company and laugh, but our philosophy is to connect with peace and nature. So if you are looking for big party and drinking, this might not be the place for you.
Pets are not allowed. Smoking is allowed in the open areas.
The location of this place is unique, allowing you to watch the sunrise from your bed and observe the stars from your balcony. It is ideal for trips in the surroundings, such as to the Santa Teresa National Park, Cabo Polonia, Monte de Ombues and the Laguna Negra. The breakfast by Martin was very satisfying with great coffee. We also enjoyed a very special experience with the other guests from around the world through shared dinners and long discussions. If you want to avoid the crowds of Punta del Este and disconnect from your daily routine, then this is the place to go.
Beautiful place to be - next to the entry of national park and beach. Punta del Diablo "downtown", restaurants and supermarkets are just in walking distance. Rosi and Martin are so lovely and helpfull - always there if you have any questions or need anything. Breakfast was always plenty and Martin made the best porched eggs ever!! During our ten days there, we spend some nice evenings together and cooked super delicious dinner.
Absolutely recommend this place!! And would definitely come here again!!
Rosi's and Martin's home was certainly one of the nicest places we ever stayed in. A beautiful, self sustained house, two openminded, friendly hosts and a perfect location next to the beach make sure your holidays will be great. Besides, Martin prepares a very nice breakfast with the best coffee we had in Uruguay and is generally very helpful. We would love to come back!
A fantastic hotel in a stunning seaside location with warm hosts. Rosi and Martin are always helpful and give very interesting Informationsquelle on the location and environment. Here the emphasis is relaxed and stands always in the foreground. We say thank you very much for 3 wonderful days we will never forget! Regards Sabine + Mario
This is a place in paradise. I had traveled to Antarctica and wanted to just chill before I returned home to winter in Canada. This was my favorite place to stay. Rosi & Martin were fantastic hosts. It was like I was visiting family. The breakfast was amazing every morning. My room was fantastic with a great view. I can't say enough about the location. It is close to the beach but also close to the National Park. I would highly recommend staying here if you want to get away from it all and have some quiet times.
Rosi and Martin were exceptional hosts- funny, helpful, kind, informative, and excellent chefs. They make their guests feel super welcome, included, and naturally foster a community feeling because of who they are, but also allow for plenty of time on your own. You can have whatever you're looking for here; we went into it excited to spend time alone, but ended up barbequeing and making dinner with individuals from 6 different counties, and then rounding out the night just the two of us drinking wine in a hammock under the stars. In that regard, Via Verde has the feel of a high end, sustainable hostel for grown ups- dream come true! :) This property is in a fantastic location, and perfect for those that are looking for an environmentally conscious, low key place to enjoy the beach. Our particular room was truly exceptional in regards to the view- windows that face the ocean/beach on two full sides of the room- incredible! The super chill, gorgeous beach of Playa Grande was just a few minutes walk. We can't say enough good things about our stay- we will definitely be back in the future, as our experience was quite amazing!
Recomendo!
