About this listing
Our little apartment is the perfect location for travelers. It is only 5 minutes walk to Sapporo station. Literally right in the middle of town!
The place is very small and is only suitable for 1-2 people. But the location is amazing, just an 7 minute walk from Sapporo station. A perfect place for first time visitors to Japan. The room has a nice new heater so great for Sapporo winters.
Apartment includes bathroom, foldable bed/couch, blow up mattress, blankets, linens, pillows, small fridge, microwave. The advertised price includes bills (building management fees, electricity, water etc). If guests would like a very long booking (more than a few months) a lower price excluding bills can be negotiated.
Interaction with Guests
A room key will be available by entering a code into a combination lock. Depending on my schedule and guest's length of stay, I may be able to meet and show guests around town if requested.
The neighborhood is the middle of Sapporo. MANY things to see and do. The street is a no through road and leads to Hokkaido University. So only a 2 minute walk to the picturesque campus.
If guests wish to explore other parts of Hokkaido it's as easy as a 8 minute walk to all public transportation available from Sapporo station.
Other Things to Note
The single beds shown in the first photo are no longer there. The room now instead has a foldable single bed/couch and a semi double blow up mattress. There is a coin laundry room in the building on the sane floor as this room
I hope guests will not make too much noise and leave the apartment as clean as when they moved in.
I booked this apartment stay at Sapporo from 18th July to 19th July for two nights. I ended up checking out by the first night and forced to find an accomodation for the second night due to the below factual experiences. We are leisure travellers, holidaying solely for merry making and happy experiences. We hope to share our personal feedback so like-minded travellers can use them as objective caveats and for self-assessment. (mailto:(email hidden) or (email hidden))
(Don't take my words for it. To be fair, here's the links to pictures taken during my stay for your own assessment. To be fair, I had slept on the beds)
Link 2 (same as above):
My opinion is
a) Toilet is aged, run-down with yellowed aged stains that makes it very unpleasant to use
b) Sink is dirty and stained as check in condition
c) Floor especially when wet (when out of toilet) is dirty as check in condition
d) Beds - one is air blown which squeaks loudly and annoyingly when one so much as toss or turn or step on it - very unconducive to sleep in - the other is frankly too thin, I need to lie on the blanket to cushion against the hard base
e) Pillows - so thin and flimsy - can hardly function as one. It is too small (like kids pillow) and thin. I forgo using it totally for any decent support.
f) The one serious problem especially for travellers who are light sleepers is that the unit is on the SECOND floor. NOISY traffic is right below next to the window, just outside the apartment. During my stay, on 19 July morning, I was awoke and kept awake by the loud and incessant traffic right from 6am. Though the place is not air-conditioned, I attempted to keep out the traffic noise below by air shutting the window but for some reasons it couldnt perhaps as it is on the second floor.
g) The blinds even when closed cannot keep out the BLINDING sunlight in the morning.
h) The last straw that finally forced me to forgo my 2nd night precious holiday stay is when I leave the apartment - the eccentric old lady whom pretended she was the landlord forewarned to stayers by Ken himself - is not just eccentric - she harrassed me and taunted me menancingly - tried to prevent me from leaving despite me saying I am friend of dweller above. Tried to take pictures using her phone and was physcial despite my attempts to ignore and leave.
i) The small room is within 5mins walking distance to the Sapporo station - its only merit.
j) I took pictures (thankfully) as I will request for my due refund for the forgo night stay due to the bad stay. I decided to give my review in fairness.
k) Ken insist I leave my review 1st, before he will see what discount on my stay to give. Be very careful.
Very nice and convenient place. Walk able for Sapporo station and nice jogging trail next door at Hokkaido uinversity. Ken is awesome and very responsive
Good apartment not too far from Susukino and the JR station. Plenty of room also. Jack was reliable and helpful. Thanks!
