Downtown Lafayette is in the heart of Acadiana, center of Cajun culture and nightlife. The area has many restaurants, music venues, bars, and night clubs. Free high speed wireless internet and cable TV.

The Bottom Bunk is a full size or double bed suitable for two people. This is a shared room that opens up into the dining room. There are two shared bathrooms in the house, one with an antique claw foot bathtub (no shower) and another in the front of the house with a shower that can be used any time they are not occupied by myself or other guests in the house. You will also have access to a full-service kitchen and clothes washer and dryer that will be shared with myslef and/or other guests that may be staying in the house.

Interaction with Guests

If I am in town, I usually interact quite a bit with my guests, at their discretion of course. I travel during the Summer and Winter months and often take weekend trips to New Orleans so I may not interact much at all during these times. I am ALWAYS available by phone or text if I am traveling.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is very quiet, however, downtown Lafayette has many restaurants (Japanese sushi, French, Lebanese, Mexican, Burgers), music venues, night clubs, and bars and is only 10 blocks (approx 1 mile/1.6 km) or a 15 minute walk away. The house is located 3.4 miles (5.5 km) from the Lafayette airport and 1 mile away from the Amtrak Train Station and Greyhound Bus Station which are both Downtown.

Getting Around

Close to bus stop, city taxi available, and FREE BIKES!

House Rules

There is no smoking indoors. Smoking is allowed anywhere outside the home. I have a very large, covered driveway in case of poor weather.

On weekends I am typically out late watching living music or working one of my own events. I have a separate entrances on each side of the house so depending on how many guests are in the house, noise is usually not a problem. The kitchen is right next to the private master bedroom, so, I ask that it be used only when others are sleeping in the evening if possible. Lafayette has plenty of late night food choices. I am usually up early in the mornings, even on weekends so if you want to cook breakfast before checking out that is not a problem.

If you choose to use the bikes you will be responsible for any damage other than normal wear and tear (flat tires, etc.). Bike locks are provided so you will also be responsible for cases of theft at $75 per bike.
