Private Bed & Bath by the Marina

House - Private room · Fiji Way, Marina del Rey, CA 90292, United States

Great neighborhood. A 5 minute walk to the Marina & harbor. I have a private bedroom and private bathroom for rent. Queen size bed in bedroom. Bathroom has outstanding fixtures - travertine stone, excellent water pressure. Also has private patio.

The Space

It is a lovely bedroom, not luxurious, just safe and pleasant. Also, I have the house professionally cleaned once every two weeks so your space will be very clean when you arrive. I also keep a lot of vases with fresh flowers in the house, which I think adds to its overall appeal.

I own a little dog, and she is very friendly and loving and loves to interact with guests, and therefore I am unable to accept any guests who do not like dogs or who would have problems with a little dog being near them, trying to play with them, etc. I have included pictures of her in the photos.

Guest Access

Guests have a private bedroom and a private bathroom, and access to the kitchen, dining area, laundry room, living room, wifi, private patio, downstairs patio, and, if there's no street parking available, a private parking space in my garage. The bedroom has a locking door which guests get a key to so they can ensure their belongings are safe and so they have extra privacy. I provide fresh clean towels, fresh linens, soap and shampoo, laundry detergent if desired. Guests are also welcome to help themselves to any snacks. I keep fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, sparkling water and the like in the fridge and pantry.

Also, smoking is allowed but *only* on the patio.

Interaction with Guests

I work during the week so I am not home during the day. I'm usually home at night during the week and in and out on the weekends. I'm pretty easy going in terms of interaction.

The Neighborhood

Marina Del Rey is a great neighborhood and is a perfect location for tourists looking to enjoy Los Angeles. The first reason Marina Del Rey is an excellent location is because it is only a twenty minute bus ride from Los Angeles International Airport, which is very important for guests arriving or leaving by plane since most towns in Los Angeles are over an hour away from LAX by bus.

My house is also a five minute walk to the sailboat docks and harbor and the beautiful Burton Chace Park. My place is also an extremely brief (5-15 minutes) bus ride to a number of popular tourist destinations such as the Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, the Third Street Promenade, and the Getty Museum.
Also, my place is a five minute walk to any kind of store you could possibly have in mind: grocery stores, convenience store, Peets Coffee, Starbucks, Pinkberry, Chipotle, the post office, movie theaters, etc.

Getting around

With respect to public transit, the Big Blue Bus (Route 3 and Route 3 Rapid) goes up and down Lincoln Boulevard, which is a main street on the West Side of Los Angeles, and a one minute walk from my place. The Route 3 starts at LAX and goes all the way up to Santa Monica and then over to Westwood, so it stops at a lot of the most popular tourist destinations in Los Angeles.

There is also a bicycle path right by my house, commonly referred to as the "beach bike path" that allows bicycle riders to go up and down the coastal cities of Los Angeles by bicycle. That is also a great way to see Los Angeles.

  • Wendy's was great. First the neighborhood is just very nice and very safe. Parking (free) is plentyful so you will be near the house.

The room is large and has a couch for relaxing with your book. Also a small private deck. Bathroom is large and fully stocked with towels and all you can possibly need.

Wendy is delightful and a wonderful host. She is accommodating but never in your way. We are not B&B people because we enjoy our quiet time and Wendy affords you your privacy so that made our stay super enjoyable.

Go to Wendy's for the value and the experience.

  • We spent very comfortable time (nights) in the Wendy`house, very clean and suitable appartment with a private nice decorated bathroom. A little pet Pandia is a special gift for those who like a dog. We were really happy to meet her morning and evening, and play with her. Location is not far from aeroport, but nearest sea view, suitable for a walk, running and fresh air promenade. Thanks a lot for Wendy hospitality and a beautiful house! We recommend this option in LA!

  • If you're looking for a great place to stay near the beach, public communications (BBB) but still want some peace and quite this is the place to book. Wendy is a great host, and Pandia will keep you company which is great when you are travelling alone. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting LA.

  • I bought this stay for my sister. a photographer, while she was in Los Angeles to shoot a wedding. Here's her review:

Wendy is very easy going and welcoming. The house is really nice. It's open and gives you a homey feeling. Wendy set up nice snacks and drinks for her guests - which was so refreshing versus having to go to the store and stock up after a long trip. The bed was comfy and the room is big. There are large skylights which are really nice for those who don't mind waking to light. There is a private patio off the bedroom, which is also lovely. It's minimal but comfortable. And there is an AWESOME dog to hang with. I wouold definitely stay again.

  • My staying with Wendy was a joy! A room was exactly the same as you see at the photos: specious, clean and full of light! A bed was comfortable and having a private bathroom was great. Wendy takes great care about little touches like plenty of clean towels for guests, shampoos and hand creams in the bathroom, drinks at the fridge and so on. We didn't see each other that often as I was out most of the time but when we managed to chat Wendy was really helpful giving lots of advice about the area. I love dogs and having Wendy's pug around was great: she loves humans and is very sweet! Thank you, Wendy! These were three great days!
