About This Listing
Great neighborhood. A 5 minute walk to the Marina & harbor. I have a private bedroom and private bathroom for rent. Queen size bed in bedroom. Bathroom has outstanding fixtures - travertine stone, excellent water pressure. Also has private patio.
It is a lovely bedroom, not luxurious, just safe and pleasant. I have the house professionally cleaned once every two weeks so your space will be very clean when you arrive. I keep a lot of vases with fresh flowers in the house, which I think adds to its overall appeal.
I have been told the bedroom gets a lot of sunshine in the morning so if you want a dark bedroom in the morning, or otherwise want to block out the sunshine, this is probably not the best choice for your stay.
I own a little dog, and she is very friendly and loving and loves to interact with guests, and therefore I am unable to accept any guests who do not like dogs or who would have problems with a little dog being near them, trying to play with them, etc. I have included pictures of her in the photos.
Guests have a private bedroom and a private bathroom, and access to the kitchen, dining area, laundry room, living room, wifi, private patio, downstairs patio, and, if there's no street parking available, a private parking space in my garage. The bedroom has a locking door which guests get a key to so they can ensure their belongings are safe and so they have extra privacy. I provide fresh clean towels, fresh linens, soap and shampoo, laundry detergent if desired. Guests are also welcome to help themselves to any snacks. I keep fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, sparkling water and the like in the fridge and pantry.
Also, smoking is allowed but *only* on the patio.

Interaction with Guests
I work during the week so I am not home during the day. I'm usually home at night during the week and in and out on the weekends. I'm pretty easy going in terms of interaction.
Marina Del Rey is a great neighborhood and is a perfect location for tourists looking to enjoy Los Angeles. The first reason Marina Del Rey is an excellent location is because it is only a twenty minute bus ride from Los Angeles International Airport, which is very important for guests arriving or leaving by plane since most towns in Los Angeles are over an hour away from LAX by bus.
My house is also a five minute walk to the sailboat docks and harbor and the beautiful Burton Chace Park. My place is also an extremely brief (5-15 minutes) bus ride to a number of popular tourist destinations such as the Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, the Third Street Promenade, and the Getty Museum.
Also, my place is a five minute walk to any kind of store you could possibly have in mind: grocery stores, convenience store, Peets Coffee, Starbucks, Pinkberry, Chipotle, the post office, movie theaters, etc.
With respect to public transit, the Big Blue Bus (Route 3 and Route 3 Rapid) goes up and down Lincoln Boulevard, which is a main street on the West Side of Los Angeles, and a one minute walk from my place. The Route 3 starts at LAX and goes all the way up to Santa Monica and then over to Westwood, so it stops at a lot of the most popular tourist destinations in Los Angeles.
There is also a bicycle path right by my house, commonly referred to as the "beach bike path" that allows bicycle riders to go up and down the coastal cities of Los Angeles by bicycle. That is also a great way to see Los Angeles.
Other Things to Note
Frequently Asked Questions by Guests:
Q: Do I know that my dog likes to chew on dirty socks, toilet paper, and that she will eat food if it is left out in a guest's room?
A: Yes, I do know that. In fact, I recommend that if guests want to keep the dog out of their room, that they close their door.
Q: Do I know that my dog will jump up on the furniture?
A: Yes, I do know that. In fact, I recommend that if guests do not want the dog to come into their room and jump up on the furniture, that they close the door. Otherwise, she will come into the room and probably try to play with you.

We had a nice stay at Wendys place. Everything was as descriped. Our arrival was made easy and all the basic questions we might have had were answered by handy little notes that were in the room. Wendy also personally made sure that we had everything we needed. The apartment was by a quiet road so we had no problem getting a good night sleep. Both the room and the bathroom were nice and big. There is good connections from Marina to nearby beaches, Santa Monica for example. Wendys dog Pug is a very friendly host too :)
My girlfriend and I enjoyed two very comfortable nights (the first one was much needed after our 17 hour flight) at Wendy's house. She was the most friendly host you could expect and made us feel right at home. Naturally, we were out a lot to explore the vicinity and the nearby attractions such as the Marina, Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier.
If you're looking for a lovely, quiet and clean accommodation near to LAX with plenty of refreshments, a friendly host and a really cute pug, you should stay at Wendy's.
Had a great stay at Wendy's!
My booking was very last minute. But Wendy was super accommodation and made everything go smooth and easy. She's the nicest most friendly host you'll ever meet :)
And she has the cutest little pug :)
The place is amazing, spacious, bright and conveniently located close to restaurants, shopping and the beach. Wendy will provide you with everything you need. Tea, coffee, water and toiletries. The place is better stocked than any 5 star hotel I've ever been to! Thanks Wendy :)
Wendy made my brother and I feel right at home. Her little pug is also super friendly and playful. If you don't want to drive Marina del rey is a perfect location near various public transit lines, numerous beach communities to explore, as well as easy access to west Hollywood, culver city, and Beverly Hills on transit lines. If you are looking to explore and be in a homie and safe neighborhood Wendy is your girl!
Me and wife were visiting from NY and had a good time. Wendy was a great host . We didn't see her much but the room was nice ( very sunny !). Parking was plenty on street right outside the house. The house is a few miles to Venice beach and around the area you have some options to eat ( Ralph's grocery store similar to Whole foods is around the block as well). Only thing to bear in mind is that a car is needed to travel, the room doesn't have TV but there are plenty of books to read. Rest all is fine and the price fits what you get !
Our short stay with Wendy was great. The room was exactly as described and the bed was very comfortable. We only met Wendy as we were leaving but she was a very happy and friendly person who was happy to give any advice and hints for our holiday. Thank you Wendy.
Wendy's house is really beautiful and situated in a really pretty street just of Lincoln Blvd where you can catch the bus to Venice/Santa Monica and downtown. The room was huge, the bed really comfy and the bathroom had all the amenities you could have wished for. The little balcony is a great addition to the room and we enjoyed watching dog walkers in the morning! Wendy was super friendly and was so accomodating. Her dog is really cute. The location is ideal and as you are 10/15min away from Abbot Kiney Blvd by bus and 20min from LAX by bus (which stops on Lincoln Blvd. - 3min walk) the Neighbouhood is incredibly safe and there's a retail park accross the street with Starbucks/supermarket/restaurants... We would love to come back to Wendy's place to explore the rest of the Coast.
