About this listing
I am offering a very spacious and bright room with a double bed and a private bathroom just 5 minutes away on foot from Sagrada Familia and 15 minutes to las Ramblas (the center of the city). The closest subway stop is L2 Tetuan and the renfe stop is Arc de Triomf if you are coming by train. Whether you are coming from the Barcelona airport or the Griona airport, the apartment is very well situated; especially if you come from the Girona airport, since the Estacio de Nord is only 500m away. The room is in a 100m2 apartment with 2 terraces, 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms, one of them is private and can only be accessed from one of the bedrooms, which is the one being rented out. The kitchen is completely equipped and the entire apartment has wireless internet access included in the price. There is a supermarket right next to the apartment that closes at 11pm and a pharmacy close by that closes at 10pm. The area around the apartment is full of restaurants and bars, and is a great area to go out and explore. I live with my boyfriend who is from Venice, but I am Spanish and I have worked in the tourism sector for years so I can give you good suggestions for seeing the city. We are also at work all day during the week so you have the apartment to yourself most of the day. Also I speak Catalan, Spanish, English, French and Italian!

This is a nice house in a good location, easy to walk to everywhere. Daniel and Sonja are lovely and their English ( and 3 other languages!) is great
Danke!
Sonya and Daniel were very friendly. They accommodated our late arrival. Orientation about the apartment, building, and Barcelona was very useful
The location was very good, just a few blocks from Sagrada Familia, and easy walking distance to other Gaudi masterpieces along the Passeig de Gracia. Several Metro stops are nearby as well, making access to all the places you want to go quite easy. The room was sufficiently roomy and the bath is truly private, accessed from the bedroom itself.
Sonya and Daniel made us feel quite welcome with their friendliness, a clean room, plenty of tourism information, and great responsiveness to our requests. For instance, the plug on the fan in the room was broken, and when we mentioned it in the morning, it was fixed by the time we came back home -- much appreciated! We chatted a bit when we came in at the end of the day, getting a bit of a slice of life for Barcelona's people (which is a benefit of airbnb), and good advice on places to go.
Barcelona is an incredible place, and our experience of it was much enhanced by our nice hosts!
We did not have a very good experience here. The room was spacious and the layout was as shown by the advertised photos Perhaps we had overly high expectation of the place from the pictures. The apartment is actually quite old, and the fit and finishing reflected this. The paint on the wall, the flooring, and general condition of the place was quite poor, and we were disappointed. The attached bathroom also had some issue with plumbing. The first couple of days the shower was draining so slowly that I had to shower with only a trickle of water and took frequent stops to allow the water to drain. Sonya tried to fix it, although it improved I have to warn you that it was marginal and the showered still drained slowly. Please forget about taking a nice strong shower here. The room was quite warm but tolerable. There was no air condition and the fan did not work. We were able to sleep with the window open. The apartment is on the 2nd floor. It's very noisy. There are a few bars selling cheap beer around the area, which is good when you're having a drink. Not so good when you're trying to sleep and there's loud drunken laughter and glasses smashing. This was on normal nights. One night we stayed was the cops del rey final and it was obviously much worse after barca won. Please bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. The host is very environmentally friendly and reminded us repeatedly to turn off the lights when we go out. Be prepared that when you return at night the whole apartment is completely dark. No porch light. You have to fumble your way around a bit until you locate the light switch. I think the host can consider installing some energy saving bulbs, at least one at the door way. We also had some issue with the host, and we're surprised to read so many positive reviews on how warm and responsive she is. Before we went to Barcelona, there was minimal communication. Directions to her apartment was sketchy, and we had to figure our way with google map. We told her our train arrival timing at Sants, and also told her we were taking the metro. We did not stop along the way. However, when we reached Tetuan, we received a text from Sonya that she was late for appointment and she HAD to leave in 5 minute. If we missed her then we had to wait till evening for her to return. We then had to run with our luggage to the apartment, and lucky for us we caught her just as she was leaving, if not we would be stuck there with our luggage and no where to go. Please note that we are seasoned travellers and have stayed in some pretty dodgy places in South East Asia. We were disappointed with this place as we read overwhelmingly good reviews and had...
Dear Hsiang, I'm very surprised with your review and I need to clarify you some points. First of all there was minimal communication before you arrive because you never write me nothing, I have asked you twice about your check-in time and you anwer me after 3 weeks!!!! Sorry if I have fixed an appointment the day you arrived but you should reach my apartment in 20 minutes and you took one hour and a half! We are regular people and we have things to do, we don't work in a 24h hotel as a receptionist! About the plumbing the problem was your hair, perhaps be more careful with your hair next time, nevertheless I have fixed it! About the fan, you never told me it didn't work, and it worked perfectly with the last guests, maybe because you broke it? We never said there was air-conditioning in this room, why you where expecting it? I'm so sorry if Barça won the final cup and you couldn't sleep, next time check their match schedule! And finally about the light, a porch light? Seriously? When you open the main door the switch is just on your right!!!! "installing some energy saving bulbs"???? Please next time book a five stars hotel with reception 24hours and lights everywhere, but always be careful with you hair in the shower and check before travel the local team match schedule!!!!
