The space
Minutes away from St. John's University, the College of St. Benedict and St. Cloud State University. Great golf courses available nearby in St. Cloud, Sartell, Cold Spring, Richmond and Albany.

Other things to note
Fisher's Club, an institution in the area since the 1930's, serves walleye dinners on Middle Spunk Lake in Avon. It's in a classic old building facing the town beach and is reportedly the inspiration for Lake Wobegon. Call to make reservations.

Biking enthusiasts can enjoy the Lake Wobegon Trail, a 46 mile long, ten foot wide paved biking trail. You can pick it up in Avon.

St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict are both nearby. The Marcel Breuer church at SJU is very interesting, and the walking trails around the 3500 acre campus are serene. The cathedral at CSB is beautiful. Both campuses are worth a visit. Check out the website (csbsju) for more information.

The town of St. Joseph has a food coop with baked goods from Collegeville Artisan Bakery, a terrific local bakery. A regional favorite is the old-timey St. Joe Meat Market. The Italian restaurant on Minnesota Avenue is also very good.

The Sinclair Lewis Museum and "Main Street" are nearby (28 miles) in Sauk Center. Sinclair Lewis was the first American to win the Nobel Prize in literature. Check TripAdvisor before you go.

Little Falls, and the home of Charles Lindbergh, is 30 miles away. Visits to his childhood residence may be arranged. Other sights include the Mississippi Riverside waterfront, the Minnesota Fishing Museum, a Military Museum, and interesting buildings such as the Cass Gilbert Depot and the Weyerhaeuser Memorial Museum. Location

Saint Joseph, Minnesota, United States

John and Cici's lake home is located in St. Joseph, Minnesota, United States.

This lake is not heavily populated - so the atmosphere is very peaceful. There is no public boat access. We have private access. You can request a key from us to get access. There are few jet-skis on the lake; kayaks and pontoons dominate. Bring your kayak or paddle boards if you would like. There is also very good fishing, with walleye, northerns , and sunnys. Bring your fishing boat, if you wish. Also in thge winter months, great cross country skiing and snowmobiling.

Getting around

The cabin is about 3 miles off Interstate 94 in St. Joseph, MN. At the St. Joseph exit, turn right and proceed 2.5 miles to Hwy 75. Turn right. After 0.5 miles, turn left on Hwy 2 (at Holiday Station). Proceed approximately 2 miles, then turn right on Crestview Dr. (Pleasant Acres wooden sign). Go approximately 1 mile to 9275 (green home on the right). Please park on right side of driveway. There is no public transportation.
