I really enjoyed staying with Micheline and the very cute and kind dog Spanky. Micheline is so nice and laidback and really makes you feel like home. She's also helpful with advices on the great and cool places to get food and coffee. The really good coffee! :) There's no window in the bedroom, but there's a fan so it was not a problem at all. The room is also quiet and the flat is clean and tidy. I really hope I get the chance to go back.
Micheline was an amazing host. She was very accommodating to my last minute plans and her place is immaculate! Her dog is very sweet and you'd hardly notice he's there.
On top of that M is a vibrant, sweet spirit and we had some wonderful late night conversations. She humored me as I talked her ear off.
The location is so close to the train and tons of shops for food and honestly whatever you might need.
Micheline was open, friendly, and welcoming. She made it easy for me to come and go on my own schedule, and I was easily able to take showers, do laundry, and other necessities. The room was, as advertised, small, but fine, and the neighborhood was not as fancy as higher up the hill toward the park but I had no problems or worries.
This was the second time I stayed at Micheline's apartment and it was as great as the first. She was very accommodating of my late check in, keeping in touch with me by text until she was sure I had retrieved the keys. The apartment is super clean and comfortable and the room quiet and comfortable. Micheline is very friendly and great to talk to although I did not see a lot of her as our schedules were fairly opposite. The apartment is in a great neighborhood and the perfect place to explore Brooklyn and NYC from.
Micheline was just what an AirBnB host should be. I always worry when staying in someone else's home (esp if you are sharing a bathroom) that I will be made to feel like an intruder. It was just the opposite experience at Micheline's. I felt welcomed and appreciated. She was very considerate of my comfort and needs and I never found myself in a situation where I felt like I was taking up her space. Plus she is a warm and friendly person. Perfect host!
The room was comfortable and in the best neighborhood in Brooklyn - heck, the best neighborhood in NY (in my opinion). The apartment is a very short walk to the train station making it convenient to get into the city. But why go to the city when there is so much right in Park Slope? Okay, I know people want to go to Manhattan but you really can find some great restaurants and shopping right in the neighborhood.
Back to the room: It is small; suitable for one person. The apt is one flight up so it was nice not to have to schlep my bags many floors up as is often the case when visiting NY. The room was comfortable and had plenty of nooks for your stuff plus a wardrobe closet. There is no operable window in the room - only a window enclosed with glass block. It has a nice ceiling fan to keep the air circulating.
All-in-all: a nice experience. I really enjoyed meeting Micheline and the room suited my needs perfectly.
I had an amazing experience staying with Micheline. The room was cozy, quiet and comfortable. Micheline was very accommodating, and was helpful with anything I needed. It's super close to transit into Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn. The bed is perfect for the solo traveler, so if I'm ever traveling alone again I would definitely stay here!
About the Host, Micheline
Female living in a two bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. I work long hours and usually 6 days a week, so the apartment is very often empty. I work hard but when not working, I enjoy getting away as often as I can. I have a bucket list of places I haven't gone to but most definitely will at some point.
As a host, you are welcome to use everything in the apartment. My life moto is to live and let live and to be very accepting of others.
