We stayed at Dixi's apartment for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is part of Dixi's residence property, which is beautiful and peaceful and well located in Houston near the Heights. The gardens are extensive and attract a variety of birds. Dixi was a gracious host, checking in with us to be sure we had everything we needed while also respecting our time and privacy. Her dog Lily and cat Gypsy were welcome additions to our experience. The apartment is very comfortable, plenty big for us and with all the furnishings we could want. We cooked breakfast there every day and also relaxed there with a glass of wine in the evening. There is no TV, which was perfect for us. The WiFi worked fine and there are plenty of books to read. I would highly recommend Dixi's apartment. We travel to Houston two times a year and will stay there again if it is available.
Dixi's rental is absolutely beautiful - the pictures don't even do the backyard jungle space justice! We had a quick trip for some much needed relaxation and made great use of her hot tub - it was perfect. We really enjoyed ourselves and would certainly visit again. Thanks, Dixi!
All was well with our stay at the Writer's Industrial Apartment. Dixie was very helpful, the accommodations were delightful and the surrounding residential neighborhood and nearby commercial clusters were interesting to explore. Thank you!
Wonderful space! Dixi was a great host and easy to get in touch with. Beautiful garden and loft.
It was lovely to stay with Dixi again. Weather was great and there is a hiking trail nearby! Also, close local restaurants within walking distance. As before, it was clean and safe and beautifully landscaped. The perfect way to relax after a hard days work or play!
The property is very peaceful and Dixie was a lovely host. The apartment was clean, had a very comfy bed and the kitchen for its size was well stocked (great non-stick frying pan!) Small negative, the shower could have been better, it had a weak spray. But on the whole I was very happy with my stay. Thank you!
I had a wonderful stay in the writer's apartment. It was so peaceful and relaxing that I was able to do plenty of work and recharge my batteries. The location is convenient, and the neighbourhood is very quiet. Dixi was a very accommodating host and really interesting to talk to – her fantastic art is all around the premises. The only downside of my stay was that weather was too cold and rainy for me to enjoy the pool, so I guess I will have to next time I come to stay in Houston!

I am an artist, working full time creating art for public and private space. I garden, swim, bike, kayak, read, and dance. I love the blues, singer song writer folk, early country. Although there is a TV, I have no cable. I am a traveler, never a tourist.
