First time on the market In the heart of the Plateau.
This is it !
First time on the market In the heart of the Plateau on a quiet street, only meters from Park Lafontaine, Montreal’s Central Park – ok, it’s not as big, but we’re a smaller city. Although you don’t have a view of the Park, the advantage is that you are on a quiet street; technically it’s a street but functions more like an alley. (The Streetview version is inserted by Airbnb and not the host - the shot you see is actually nearby and not a view from the apt.)
The apartment is a first floor 500 square foot loft style open space apartment, ideal for two. It was completely renovated in 2007 and upgraded in nov 2013. I have lived in the neighbourhood for over 25 years and have seen its evolution over the years, I actually live next door. The floors are hardwood and marble – new furnishings and fully stocked kitchen. (New added feature: expresso/cappuccino machine, and I don't mean the capsule type).
You are 4 minutes away from the trendy restaurants and boutiques on Mount-Royal Avenue and a 12 minute walk to iconic St Denis Street – outdoor cafés and boutiques.
There is a Bixi communal bike service (april - nov) 2 minute walk –the bike lane is on Rachel, the neighbouring Street. Velo Québec is 2 blocks away – for bike enthusiasts.
The Metro (subway) is short distance (10 min) on Mount-Royal or if you prefer a longer route, you can walk through the park and catch the Sherbrooke St Station (15 min).
Although Montreal hosts a series of outdoor festivals in the summer, Jazz, Just for Laughs, Francopholies in the downtown area ( 50 minute walk) - all the amenities you need are available on Mount Royal Avenue – restos , bars, liquor store, boutiques - the beer store, what we call Le Dépanneur is a minute away…
Reserved Private Parking, in front of the studio, is included in the rental
Free reserved parking
If your driving or coming by cab remember that Bureau is just behind (north of) Rachel - approx 50 ft - since Bureau St is not a major street, it is common for taxi drivers not knowing it - important focal point would be Rachel and Garnier or Rachel and Fabre, in front of Park Lafontaine.
Joseph was a wonderful host and the apartment is exactly as described. There were a number of small touches that made the place feel like home.
We were stuck on a 3-hour train ride for 12 hours, so it was really nice that there was coffee and fruit waiting for us in the morning.
The location is great, very close to L'Avenue du Mont-Royal and especially St-Viateur Bagel and Cafe.
We walked to Mount Royal Park and downtown in -20C without too much hassle. The location couldn't be better.
A pretty good and warm welcome ! Joseph is a nice person , he gave us a lot of advices. The appartment is quite big, confortable and central located. I just can suggest you to spend your holiday in Montreal, in this appartment.
Joseph popped in to see us and made us feel very welcome. The space was beautiful, quiet and we had everything we needed, including loose leaf teas and coffee. There were also beers in the fridge! The neighbourhood had lots going on with good restaurants nearby including a great Poutine spot. We really enjoyed out stay and would book again. Joseph was also very quick to reply to e-mails.
Joseph was an excellent host! He made sure we had everything we needed when we arrived and made sure to stop by to welcome us to the city. The apartment was cozy (which was especially welcome given the -20 temperature outside) and in a great location. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go and really get to experience the city during our short trip. The beer waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived and the espresso machine were definitely highlights. We hope to visit Montreal again for a longer time and would definitely stay here again!
Amazing place in the heart of Plateau/Mont-Royal. The place is near everything you need by walking distance. The place is great, spacious and smelt so clean the minute we walked in. Joseph greeted us a little while after which was very welcoming. Loved the free parking also, fresh towels, fully furnished with all necessities if you want to cook/ eat in.
Amazing Air Bnb experience, will definitely stay here again.
When my boyfriend and I travel, we search for a location that is close to a transportation and/or close to places we plan on visiting. We search through airbnb, hotels and if available, hostels as well.
Value, cleanliness and other amenities are considered, and Joseph hit EVERY mark right in the BULLS EYE!
The pictures are exactly what you walk into: a very clean, cozy, no clutter home that offers beyond your basic needs...assuming you are easy to please ;)
Instead of walking into a hotel as a vistor, you walk into what feels like a home away from home.
Even Joseph himself makes you feel like he was hosting his very own friends. Thankfully, the fridge was stocked with the basics (like (email hidden)d beer! haha) So we didn't have to leave as it was already late when we arrived.
We barely had any questions for Joseph as he provided ample information abut the area during his greet and ample in the binders as well.
Thank you so much Joseph, it was truly a pleasure to meet you and to be hosted by you!
