My dream home! As an artist and native Las Crucen splitting time between NYC and New Mexico, I couldn't have imagined a more perfect oasis for both creative inspiration and quiet rejuvenation in the historic heart of Mesilla and southern New Mexico. Built in 1853, as the Mexican customs house prior to statehood in the Gadsden purchase, it doesn't get anymore Old West than this.

The space
This property is literally the pinpoint perfect geographical location for exploring all the southwest has to offer both naturally and culturally. Less than a block of the Mesilla plaza (directly behind the San Albino Catholic Church), the location couldn't possibly be anymore convenient for exploring historic Old Mesilla. It's also an easy drive from the beautiful Organ mountains or White Sands National Monument.

For the more creatively ambitious looking for a southwest art experience, the property is also located equidistant between both the Chinati foundation in Marfa, TX and all the Santa Fe art world has to offer.

Honoring and reflecting upon the rich history of this space, while also carefully curating a space for forward looking creativity and community (both locally and globally), my new home is meant to be shared.

Neighborhood highlights

Unique for the wide open space of the southwest, just about everything you could want is in easy walking distance.
Located directly across the street is the beautiful bed and breakfast Josefina's Gate. They are open early for breakfast and lunch daily and often have live music in the evenings.
Across the plaza is the historic El Patio bar for late night revelry or even closer, the more sophisticated Double Eagle for dinner and cocktails. Great food is available within a couple of minutes of walking in every direction. La Posta, Andeles, Double Eagle, Josefina's Gate, Chala's and Salud are all incredible food destinations close by. Not to mention two great wineries: St Clair's and Luna Rossa (New Mexico actually has the oldest history of wine production in the US dating back to the Spanish trade route that Las Cruces and Mesilla were founded on!).
Coffee and breakfast can be found (if anyone wants to wander further than across the street) at The Bean just a few blocks away.
