  • The Palisades Plush is a wonderful place to stay!!

Located in Washington's Palisades neighborhood, just west of Georgetown University, the Plush is in a very safe neighborhood where you can feel safe, anytime of day or night.

There is a Safeway store located about 5 blocks from the Plush that provides full line shopping. The Washington Metro bus D6 line passes the Plush, and provdes ready access to the entire Georgetown/Dupont Circle/downtown/Capitol Hill/Union Station area.

The Plush, though a basement unit, sits about 8' above the street level, and is very quiet at day and night. We found the unit stocked, not just with towels and linens, but with dish/laundry/dishwasher soap, all the pots, pans and dishes we would ever need.

Matthias was a most gracious host, and checked on us the day after we arrived to make sure we had everything we would need.

Offstreet parking was available and readily accessible from the alley behind the unit.

When in Washington, consider staying at the Palisades Plush - we plan on doing so again.

  • Charlotte and her staff-- Matthias and Desiree in particular-- made my trip to DC a very positive experience, despite my utter disappointment with the government shutdown and the inability to visit the museums and other sites. The disappointment was tempered by my stay in Palisades Plush.
I loved staying in Palisades away from the hustle of say, DuPont Circle. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, and above all, safe. Plush is conveniently located close to Starbucks (an absolute necessity), a nice little convenience store that carried just about anything you'd care to buy, a pharmacy, and the sweetest surprise being a delightful restaurant located across the street, "Et Voila" (the food and service were fantastic! You must order the lobster risotto and the endive salad if you go).
Plush itself is spotlessly clean and is equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay, right down to the fantastic shower, flat screen television, and Bose CD player/radio. It's a cute little place and furnished very comfortably. After five hours of walking around Arlington National Cemetery in the rain, it was heaven to come back to Plush, pour myself a glass of wine, turn on a movie (lots of channels to choose from) and sit in the recliner with my feet up. I'm ridiculously picky about bed linens and Plush did not disappoint. The sheets were fantastic, as was the mattress.
Matthias was a great host-- completely unobtrusive yet always present, just a call away. I called him late one evening because the television was confusing me (I'm tech-challenged), and his wife walked me through a fix for the television. He was also very helpful getting me connected to the building wi-fi (again, tech-challenged!). For those that might be concerned about being in Plush while piano lessons are going on upstairs, the lessons were a complete non-issue because I was out during the day and there are no lessons in the evenings.
If you are planning a vacation to DC, make sure a.) you won't be there during a government shutdown and b.) you stay at Palisades Plush. You might be a few miles from the hub of Washington, but the D5 bus stops right across the street and it's an easy ride to everything and anything you'd care to visit. It was heavenly coming back to my little home away from home after running around DC all day.
I heartily recommend this property! Thanks, Charlotte, Matthias, Desiree and all Lux BNB staffers!

  • Excellent stay and location since I needed to spend days in Georgetown. Perfectly clean & comfortable apartment with all amenities. A lovely space with everything you need, including free off-street parking. Photos are accurate. Comfy bed and TV area, nice table/chairs for eating or work (if you must), great WIFI, and very quiet. The home and local DC info provided was thorough and outstanding.

  • Charlotte and her staff were very understanding and helped us out when we had a last minute change of plans! The apartment was lovely, really beautifully decorated and furnished. I enjoyed the porch in the evenings and the neighborhood. Matthias is a really friendly and interesting fellow and we felt welcomed and very much at home there. This is our second stay at this property and I would love to go back in the future!

  • This property was exactly as described. The apt was well appointed and in a great part of town. Charlotte & Company were more than helpful with this first time renter; they answered all of my lame questions and made every effort to accomodate our needs. We will certainly with Charlotte & her team again.

    April 2013
  • My family stayed at Palisades Plush for 5 nights. The apartment was very clean has a well equipped kitchen and well as a washer and dryer, with two boys 7 & 5 I really appreciate this. There were two parks within walking distances and also some room outside the apartment for the boys to play. Our host Matthias stopped by to ensure everything was okay, and was close by if we needed anything. I would stay here again and I would recommend this apartment for a family or couple.

  • Just perfect! Love the hosts, the size and facilities, the location, the quiet! Great place to stay!

    February 2013
  • We loved our stay at the Palisades. Charlotte is great to work with and the host himself is wonderful. He attended to all our needs and made us feel at home, often going out of his way for us. Thanks for everything!
