About this listing
The studio is very compact and a bit old but it will make you feel right at home while making you feel somethng new with its design, lights, books, music & trinkets from all around the world. Why chose a hotel when you can stay in a real HOME.
The studio has an old-world charm. If you like cosy places then this is the right place for you... ans a special someone.
The main room is an all-purpose space adapted to play the role of a bedroom, a dining room and a living room.
The whole atmosphere revolves around an oriental theme which comes to life with the help of the many lights and lamps. There is also a surround speaker system which will help set the mood.
From the main room one passes to a second smaller room which is a shared space between the kitchen and the bathroom (separated by a folding door).
The studio is at ground level and has the main window opening right onto the street.
The area where the flat is located is very safe as it is close to the British Embassy. Just in front there is very nice park and a building that offers a light show every evening.
Inside the flat itself you will have access to the following:
- cable internet/Wi-Fi
- surround system which can be connected to a smartphone, tablet, PC
- hot water
- fan (summer), heating 24/7 (winter)
- kitchen (stove, microwave, dishes, cutlery)
Interaction with Guests
I can provide information about Bucharest (sights, transpostation) on arrival to those that request it. Also I can assist 24/7 in case of a real emergency (imposibility of getting into the flat, lack of water or electricity, and so on and so forth)
If you want to be close to what is happening in Bucharest then this little flat has it all.
It is located in a quiet neighborhood that is full of history.
It's a 5 min. walk from the flat to Piața Romană (Roman Square)
You are close to:
- The Romanian Atheneum (a 10 min. walk)
- The Revolution Square (a 15 min. walk)
- Victory avenue & Lascar Catargiu avenue (two of the most iconic Bucharest boulevards)
- University Square (20 min.)
- The Romanian Parliament (Ceaușescu's megalomaniac project) (a 30 min. walk)
- The Old Town (the place for bars and nightlife) (a 25 min. walk)
The Piața Romană metro station is just 5 min. away. A 2-way metro trip costs 5 lei (around 1 euro) which can take you close to 90% of the sights in Bucharest.
The other option is RATB (the city bus company) which has a buses going throughout the city. Line 783 runs from the airport to Piata Romana. You have to buy a card and then load trips. One trip is around 1,5 lei.
Or you can always take a taxi but make sure that their meter is running. Also from the airport please use the prepaid kind.
Other Things to Note
1. City Info
There is a good website offering info on events or nightlife (http://www.inyourpocket.com/romania/bucharest/bars-pubs-clubs-nightlife)
The place to go to is the Old Town area accesed via the University Square which has a good selectionof bars & restaurants.
2. Traditional Food
For traditional I would recommend
Caru' cu bere, www.carucubere.ro/ro/homepage
Hanu berarilor, www.hanuberarilor.ro
Casa Doina www.casadoina.ro/
but you should book in advance because they are always full...
In my opinion Bucharest is a relatively safe city, that is if you don't start causing trouble and are careful.
Everything you should need is located in the proximity of the center, (Unirii - Universitate - Romana - Victoriei) which is also the most beautiful part of town.
I am a very flexible and understanding person. I only expect the same respect from you the traveller. The most important thing is to understand that this studio is my home and not a hotel. A hotel has 20 rooms which are alike and can change anything broken. That is not an option for me.
THUS ANYTHING BROKEN OR OUT OF ORDER WILL BE REPLACED AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE
Please follow these simple rules:
Taking your shoes off at the entrance. (reduces dust in the room)
Taking your time when opening/closing the front door/windows.
Being careful not to break/burn anything in the flat.
Conserving energy by turning the lights/water off when not needed or out of the flat. (helpes the planet)
Restraining from anykind of parties and/or inving foreign people into the flat.
Yes, that's it! Thank you and have a nice stay.
About the Host, Vlad
I like to think of myself as an enthusiastic, open-minded person that is always on the lookout for new ideas, experiences and thrills.
I am also always on the run, always trying to change the scenery, always running from the day to day routine.
That's why I am really passionate about travelling and experiencing new places and cultures... they make you think and change your day.
I also enjoy the company of 'true' travellers... people that are willing to go beneath the surface and enjoy a place for its personality.
But as this is not CS I guess the place itself is more important...
Everyone is welcome...
