One bedroom, private and cozy full size bed with skylight in great 1920's duplex. You will have access to our beautiful updated kitchen. Share the comfortable living room or retreat to your bedroom upstairs for a serene rest.
We are close in to the city in a central location with great access to freeways and public transportation. 10-15 minute taxi ride from the PDX airport.
We are near the NW 23rd district's hip coffee shops and upscale boutiques and restaurants. The trendy Pearl shopping district and art galleries is blocks away and public transportation is easy to take from here.
Some of the great Portland parks biking and hiking trails are easily accessible as well.
There is a park and a public tennis court across the street and we are blocks away from Forest Park, the largest park inside city limits in the whole country.
Near to Portland's famous Washington Park, Japanese Garden, and Powell's bookstore.
I think you will find me a welcoming host. I look forward to meeting many new guests and sharing my home with them.
No late night partying
no illegal drugs
We have a great kitchen and love to share the space but expect all dishes to be washed and the countertops cleaned off when finished cooking. Kitchen closes at 10:00 pm so other household members can get some sleep.

Alleyn was an excellent host. Her home is cleanly and the amenities were great. Room was a good size, wifi access was simple, and I loved that she had fruit and coffee ready to go for guests. She was also very helpful in advising things to check out around Portland. The location provides easy access to downtown Portland, and is only a few blocks away from a strip of nice bars and restaurants. Overall, more than happy with my stay and would gladly return.
Great place to stay. Clean, inviting, and warm. Alleyn is very accommodating and gracious.
It was my first time visiting Portland and Alleyn enhanced the experience as she was very accomodating! Her home was very comfortable as described. She was basically my very own concierge/tour guide (providing me with maps, recommendations and a history of the area). I would definitely recommend her as a host! :)
Although I only stayed with Alleyn for less than 12 hours, she made sure I was well-provided for. She kindly kept in contact with me during my travel over (which was delayed a few hours but she was sweet enough to check in with me and make sure she was still at the house when I arrived.) She lives in a beautiful neighborhood and her house is adorable! She really makes sure that her guests are comfortable and that all amenities are available to them should they want or need it. She even lent me a transit map, an umbrella, and a bus schedule to make sure I had a timely (and dry!) commute around the city. Alleyn is a lovely and gracious host and I would stay with her again if I found myself back in Portland!
Alleyn, thanks for the hospitality!
Review: The room and temperature were cozy. All amenities were great, you provided us with more than we used :) but for all other guests that want to visit and stay at your home can know that an abundance of towels were provided. The room upstairs that we stayed in was beautiful and the sunroof was a great perk! We opened it every morning to let in the cool air.
Alleyn, our host was awesome. She gave me a few maps of the city and was very helpful.
Thank you again!!!
My experience at Alleyn's was terrific. She was very warm, welcoming and very accomodating, the room was spotless, cozy and well-decorated, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I felt very at home and could not have asked for a better first experience with Airbnb. I love this area of Portland (the NW neighborhoods) and this property is within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants and interesting stores and shops, plus there is a nice park across the street. I will be returning to Alleyn's next time I am in Portland.
Perfect! One of the best experiences I've ever had with Airbnb. Alleyn is a gracious, warm host and so fun and interesting to talk to. This upper room feels very quiet & private. The desk and the bit of room on the floor for stretching were helpful. Tons of space in closet, drawers, cupboards for my things. Her home is very clean & her kitchen is beautiful and well-stocked. I felt truly welcome to use and enjoy her whole home. This is my very favorite neighborhood is Portland, sweet neighborhood feeling & so close to a huge variety of shops & restaurants. Parking was quite easy. She also gave me great tips for enjoying Portland. You may be sharing the bathroom with one other person, but I didn't find that to be an issue. There were often other people in the kitchen and living spaces, but for me that lent a friendly, cozy, homey feeling. I hope to come back in the future.

I live in the NW district close to the center of town because it is easily accessible from almost anywhere in Portland. Ten minutes from the airport. My great grandparents built homes in this neighborhood when it was first being developed and I have always loved this section of town. I moved to my present home in the Nob Hill district about 14 years ago.
I was an interior designer for many years and I also teach watercolor at the local community center.
I can't live without the ocean (an hour and a half drive from here), the mountains (an hour's drive), the beautiful Columbia gorge (1/2 hour) and Forest Park (minutes away).
I just saw the movie St Vincent with Bill Murray and loved it. Funny and charming.
I enjoy people from all walks of life and love to travel when given the chance.
