The Space

Please send me a message to inquire about availability before booking, and I will respond to you ASAP.

My apartment is located in one of the most iconic areas of the historic French Concession, with bustling Wulumuqi Lu and Changshu Lu on each side. The apartment is on charming, tree-lined Wuyuan Lu, and hidden down an alley off the main street so it is peaceful and quiet. Although it is in an old part of town, it is newly renovated with modern amenities like gorgeous hardwood floors, western style bathroom, large fully-outfitted kitchen, and huge closet space.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to the entire flat, which includes a cozy living area with comfortable couch, a queen sized memory foam mattress bed, a bright and airy fully outfitted kitchen with gas stoves, toaster oven and cooking supplies, a washer/dryer, air conditioning/heater, TV, DVD player and hi-speed wireless internet.

A bike can also be borrowed free of charge upon request.

Interaction with Guests

I am always available during your stay to answer any questions or needs you might have. I love introducing people to Shanghai and provide a guide book for the best to do, see and eat in the city.

The Neighborhood

The area has a true neighbourhood feel, with a busy wet market nearby, plenty of cafes and bakeries, small noodle shops and eateries abound.

One of the best bars in Shanghai, Senator's Saloon is conveniently located just across the street. This atmospheric prohibition-era craft cocktail bar is a great neighbourhood watering hole!

Getting around

Changshu Lu Subway station is literally 1 minute (email hidden) and Changshu Lu. You can find both Line 1 and Line 7 there.

Taxis are relatively easy to flag all around this neighbourhood.

Other Things to Note

Upon booking you will receive a house manual with tons more information on all the things to do, see, and eat in the neighbourhood. I look forward to welcoming you to my cozy apartment!

  • The property is really close to two underground stations that connect you to different lines, which is very handy. The former French district is just a lovely place to stay in Shanghai and there are so many nice bars and restaurants nearby. The property is in a building which can seem a bit daunting given that it's not very well maintained but when you enter the flat, it's another story: the pictures make justice to it. It's cosy and nicely decorated! It was great having such privacy and comfort for the 4 days I stayed in Jenny's flat. The only 'but' is the unusual set-up of the shower / sink, which are combined and part of the water used at the sink ends-up in the shower floor.

  • Jenny's flat in the French Concession is a great spot to explore Shanghai from! The apartment is beautifully decorated and on a charming street with lots of great restaurants and bars near by and a 5 min walk or less from the metro.

Jenny is an awesome host too. The apartment was spotless, she gives you tons of awesome recommendations for things to do and places to eat/drink, and is super responsive. She was really patient when our flight was delayed and helped us get into the apartment without any issues. I would highly recommend staying with Jenny if you're going to Shanghai!

  • Jenny was really helpful with loads of info about authentic restaurants nearby, which are hidden gems we would never be able to find ourselves. It was also great to chat briefly at one of the best bars right outside of the apartment before our first night of stay. The apartment was quiet yet the location was ideal to all kinds of great exploring. There is a subway station within a block, and another one about 15 minutes of walk away. Both take you to most of the interesting spots.

  • Jenny was a nice host without any doubt. The apartment is a walk away to special restaurants, drug stores, 24hours CVS, and pubs. I could find everything nearby. The apartment equipped necessities, but the only flaws are not clean, bright and big enough as the picture showed. Any way, this time is a good experience in Shanghai! Thanks again!

  • Jenny was very helpful. Although we did not meet she left her contact info and when we communicated with her, she was courteous and help us out.
The apartment itself is nice, Jenny's guide is quite informative. The neighbourhood is charming, with subway nearby and lots of things to do/see. We had a short stay but a good experience of life in Shanghai.

  • I spent six nights at Jenny's apartment during a rail journey from Beijing to Hong Kong. It had everything I needed, just as advertised, and was really convenient for shops, cafés, restaurants and bars. With a subway station about 100 meters away, I could also get around the city easily and conveniently. I found the apartment comfortable and cosy, just down an alleyway with a great tea shop on the corner and in a leafy area.

  • My parents spent a week at Jenny's place when they were visiting me in Shanghai. They loved the cute space--it was quiet, well designed and provided a good base for them to explore the French Concession. The neighborhood is really nice with lots of interesting restaurants, bars/cafes, galleries and shops. Jenny was a good host, and ensured that we had a smooth stay at her place. Thanks for hosting my folks!
