Joti's oasis in the historical town of Malacca
everything went so smoothly, from checking in so casually, to getting cups of lemonade and iced chinese tea, to hand drawn map with lovely recommendations, stories of malacca and its history peppered in fun conversations with the our unique and lovely host, to playing with the house dog Lola, to chilling on the big balcony outside our spacious room.
what a lush weekend it was and the place, its host played a big part in it being so.
Joti's place was nothing, but everything he portrayed his little oasis to be as like on his advert, his jovial self & sense of humour added the extra sparkle it needed to shine. He was attentive to all the little details that mattered.
Placed in a quiet lane just 5 mins away from the hustle and bustle of the city, & its attractions, it proved itself to be an oasis with charm and character.
We were a group of 6 girls, for a short vacation. Joti was so sweet to have welcomed us with iced tea everyday, and had our room turned down just before we came back. It brought a sense of coziness & tranquil. Furthermore, he provided us a brief yet interesting history on his oasis & even drew us a little map on where we could go for food & places of interest. It was all in all, one of the best stays we could have had.
mY wonderful stay in Malacca

Thanks to Joti's hospitality, precious tips, kindness and wonderful sense of humor we have spent four unforgettable days in Malacca.
The house is beautiful and is perfectly located in the heart of China Town. The room brings you back to some other era but comes with the comfort of modern times, it's just perfect.
I am sure we will come back some day. Thank you Joti for everything.
What a fantastic host Joti proved to be. His hospitality was wonderful. He provided fruit, water & beer in the fridge, home cooked meals, iced water in a bucket for my swollen ankles, laundered towels and sheets, and most memorably of all, he freely gave us the benefit of his enjoyable company in and out of the house. Joti's oasis is truly that.... an amazingly comfortable relaxing space in the heart of Malacca. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
Joti's Oasis is located near the Heritage sites in Malacca. A minute's walk can take you to the Dutch Square or to Jonker walk. Joti's a very warm host, he made sure to make our stay in Malacca as comfortable as possible. He arranged for a pick-up and drop-off vehicle from our bus stations. He gave us a brief history of the rich culture of the city. He drew a very useful map of the places to visit and dine, to which I kept even now that we're back in the Philippines. The house also has a lovely courtyard! We will be back at Joti's when we visit Malacca again.
Joti is a very friendly and sociable host, and he's even thoughtful enough to draw out his own map to show us how to get to the places nearby for mostly food. (trust me the map is detailed enough to understand, he used to be an interior designer!)
As for the Apartment, it consisted of just one big room that can hold up to 6 ppl, I like the style and feel (kampung like, open spaces and helps to bonding w family and friends, I feels like im back to the days of camping). There's no door to lock but just curtains to shield for the bathroom. But the whole of the top level will be just for our own use, so there's nothing much to worry about being exposed (unless u have cheeky friends staying with u). But do take note that, there's no lock at the door where you are staying(the large room), but Joti won't go up unnecessary, so you need to have a mutual trust with the Host.
For the first night, my family was not used to the kampung style as it looks a bit rundown, but from second day onwards, they started to get use to it and liked it.
Thanks Joti for having us =)
