Description

The Space

This tropical casa is located in Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre at the end of the road where the jungle begins. A very wild place indeed and Casa los Suenos is a private guest house but not isolated as the property manager's home is right next door. This is very helpful in assisting guests have the best possible experience but not for someone looking for a completely secluded vacation rental with no neighbors.

The Osa Peninsula, southwest Costa Rica is where the rainforest meets the sea. It is in one of the most remote, most spectacular and wildest regions in the country. One of the last places in Costa Rica to be settled, it has been dubbed Costa Rica's last wilderness frontier. Rich in wildlife, sparsely populated and until recently very difficult to access by road. Consequently much of the peninsula is still covered in majestic, pristine rainforest. Dominated by Corcovado National Park which protects most of the peninsula, the Osa supports more then fifty percent of the animal and plant species that live in Costa Rica. National Geographic has described the Osa as, "The most biologically intense place on earth".

The Neighborhood

Dos Brazos is a town with a rich history and an even more prosperous future. Not more than 40 years ago, gold, and lots of it, was Dos Brazos claim to fame. People came from everywhere to work for the gold mining companies back then. After the companies left some decided to stay and Dos Brazos de Rio Tigre was born. Today Dos Brazos is a sleepy little town of just 295 inhabitants that lies in the richest location you can imagine, right at the border of the world famous Corcovado National Park with a brand new park entrance opened in February 2015! Although gold mining is still practiced, the wealth is in the amazing diversity of flora and fauna and wild life. In fact Corcovado is thought to be one of the most biologically intense and pristine places in the world!

It's a small oasis of civilization, surrounded by the jungle of the forest reserve that encompasses Corcovado. Although it's a short 12-kilometer ride from the beautiful Pacific beaches of Puerto Jimenez, and just a little further from great wave riding in Matapalo, it's a town that is barely known on the tourist circuit. From Dos Brazos you'll find extensive walking trails into the jungle, with several waterfalls to see, world class birding, horseback riding, gold mining tours, and more are all available. There are two small grocers, a bar, and a Soda (cafe) which has good food. So get off the beaten path, and make your way to Dos Brazos del Rio Tigre!

Getting Around

House Rules

Welcome, Bienvenidos

In an effort to conserve energy and respect the environment turn off everything when not in use, do not forget the lights and fans.

Casa los Suenos is located in the Forest Reserve of the Corcovado National Park and many amazing creatures live here. A word of caution: some of them are dangerous. Make sure that you bring a head lamp and or flashlight. Always carry a lamp at night and use caution when walking in the jungle.

There is no rubbish service in the jungle and we recycle what we can. We ask that you separate your garbage and dispose of accordingly in the appropriate bins provided and please do not bring plastic drinking water bottles, we have some of the best water in Costa Rica! Bring one bottle for your drinking water and re-use it, we love our beautiful jungle paradise and want to keep that way!

Just like in much of Costa Rica, our septic tank is unable to handle any paper or feminine products so we ask that you place these things in the bin provided next to the toilet. It would be appreciated if you do not smoke inside of the house.

Although we have never had problems in the past, always take precaution before you leave and lock your doors.

When staying with us at Casa los Suenos we want you to consider it your home for as long as your vacation lasts, and we are sure you will love it and treat it as if it is your own.

Pura Vida,

Tristan
