I was pretty surprised by your rating, Ken, and would like to respond to your complaints. I would also love you to be specific as to why you rated us so low. We love having a BnB and want it to be the very best place available for our guest.
Your "Get a Motel" comment on the public feed was vague; I wonder what it is that you receive at motels that you didn't receive at the Shellina.
"Poor entry" - the private entrance has been one of the things that our guests love! More information about how the entry could be improved would be helpful.
"Poor bed and headboard" - Yeah, that headboard bugs my husband to, because it’s not good for leaning against. What in particular bothered you? The bed is almost new, and guests have said they sleep very well - but of course, there's no bed as comfortable as home. It would be impossible to totally please everyone regarding preferences for softness, firmness, etc. What do you suggest?
"Amateur Finish Work" - This is an opinion that isn’t helpful to me. Some of the furniture is made by hand, and is meant to be rustic --- definitely not the type of furniture that you will find in an expensive hotel - but it was designed and built specifically for the Shellina. It does the job and I like the looks and functionality of it! If you don’t like homemade, rustic-designed headboard, tables, shelves, etc., that is a matter of personal taste. Calling it amateur isn’t helpful criticism.
"Slick bedroom floors" - I have thought about leaving non-skid socks out for our guests - maybe that's something we could do.
"Accuracy" - you indicate that we weren't accurate in our description of the amenities, photos on the site, and listing description. Please let me know specifically what you believe is not accurate.
"Check-in" – I’m sorry that you weren’t happy with this. I greeted you at the door, showed you to the Shellina, etc. How do you suggest this be improved?
"Cleanliness" – a low rating here is the most mysterious to me. My husband and I thoroughly launder, clean, scrub, and polish everything. The bathroom is new; the shower, sinks, toilet, along with everything else is thoroughly cleaned after each guest. What was the problem?
"Communication" - did we not respond to something?
"Location" - I’m sorry that you weren’t happy with the location; were you hoping for something more remote?
"Value" –What would have made the value worth-while for you?
